I have a few doc appts coming up in this next week, yearly trip to my
cardiologist, and a 6 mo skin check at the dermatologist. When growing

that sunBLOCK was a 'thing' back then.
Good to see Boo, Charlotte, KY girl and all.

Hey Porch,
I caught this last night (since I am a trained noticer)...in the episode, "Aunt Bee, the Warden" during the dialogue of Otis telling the Gordon boys they lowered the quality and he found somebody who delivers, his right collar (our left) keeps going up and down.
Also, is it me or did Otis come in really drunk, then composed himself enough to talk to Andy, Barney and the Gordon boys, then become stinking drunk again when he and Andy pulled up to his house? Seems like his drunken stooper had a slight lull during him talking.
Have a good 'un.

Well, I surely thought I left a message on here a couple of days ago but apparently I got distracted and didnt actually post it!
Glad Floyd and Possum are A-OK. We are expecting rain here this weekend and it is so needed! We have having wildfires breaking out around her due to the winds and drought conditions. It was really warm today at almost 90 and I am NOT ready for the heat. I'm hoping the Toyota I have has a good air conditioner. I bought a white one, hoping it will be cooler than the black truck I was driving last summer.
I don't remember what I have told all of you, lately. Let's see..Sean is doing better with his anxiety and is learning how to deal with it in this outpatient program he is in.
Bruce got his first pain injection in his back yesterday so hoping it helps him.
I am working as usual, nothing new there..bandaging wounds and taking vital signs mostly..and loggin junk into the computer for hours.
Been trying to take better care of myself and started walking again. Still struggling with healthy eating, especially while working.
I'm sorry for your challenges, Possum. These are hard times for so many. I was getting pretty stressed out when they started laying off some federal workers but so far so good around here. Bruce wants to retire but can't yet, unfortunately.
Better get off here and get my work done.

He hates being beholden to the dr! Time will tell about all that, but I’m proud of his progress. Glad Mr. possum is doing well. That was some great scripture advice you gave for us all, MDC! Not much new here. We celebrated Sean's birthday today with family and a few close friends. Can you believe that Sean turns 30 on Wed? Hard to wrap my head around that. We really had a good time today. Instead of doing alot of cooking, we ordered BBQ from a place that Sean likes and I mad beans and Susan made potato salad. It was so easy and I didnt wear myself out cooking so I could enjoy visiting with friends.
Hope you all are having a good weekend. Jump on the porch more if you can.

JOHN Masters, I finally got a chance to watch that episode on my DVD,
and sure enuf, that collar does go up and down! Very good noticing!
It is also the episode where the "brick wall" moves! ha
As to Otis, he does seem a bit sober when he begs barn not to put him
in with the Gordon boys. Here's another thought. Andy said that he stopped
at the doc's office to patch up his hand, so what did he do with the Gordons
whilst he was at the doc's office? Hmmm?
G-F--I bought an A.O. Smith water heater today. My Reliance (made by AO Smith)
is 12 years old, acting up a bit, pilot keeps going out, etc. The one I bought
is the only one I could find with a 12 year warranty.
BOO--I know that you do some quilting. Could you use some pieces of material?
Cecile had 2 drawers full of pieces left over from projects, or never used.
If you think you could use them, I can mail them to you. And happy birthday to Sean!
Charlotte and others, good seeing you on the porch. I hope all is going well
for MR. Possum these days. I hope BIG Maude and others will check in.
Charlotte, that is great about your new "healthy living." It is amazing how just
cutting out highly processed foods will make a difference. I have been trying

Regarding blood sugar, look into cinnamon capsules, and also Saffron.
Well, guess that's about it for now.

So much more enjoyable—-for all involved! MDC, Glad you’re making it through ok, and that the ins. piece is done. Good point about Andy getting his hand looked at. 🤔 Where did the Gordons wait? G-F, thanks for the Asa remembrance. Sure miss him and Ro and all the others. Well, to bed… I have to be up at 4 to be election judge tomorrow—mostly local races and a tax referendum.

Our grandson is growing like a weed. He is 15 months old now, loves being outside exploring. He smiles all the time and waves at everyone that he can get to wave back. Talking now as well. I can't wait for him to say Nana. lol
MDC: I hope you can make it to the meet up this year. I thoroughly enjoy going and seeing all my Mayberry friends and just hanging out. It's a much slower pace than Mayberry Days. Just an observation not related to TAGS. It's raining pretty hard right now here in the Missouri Ozarks. And one of God's greatest inventions is a good ol' rainy, thundery day. It's funny how the rain, banging loud and causing a ruckus on a metal roof (mine), can be so noisy, but bring so much peace and tranquility at the same time.
One of the best things in life that's totally free is a rainy day.

I was watching the episode, "Barney's Uniform," and a couple of things hit me. Funny how you see each episode 500 times through many years, but something doesn't hit you until you see it the 501st time. Anyway...
1. Why didn't Andy just get Barney out of trouble by telling Fred Plummer, "Fred, I TOLD Barney to give you that ticket." Would've saved a whole lot of chaos and probably backed Fred down on the spot.
2. Fred proceeds to tell Andy he's "going to get his four dollars worth and then some," but when Andy questions what he means, he says never mind, it's just between him and Barney. If it's JUST between him and Barney, why did he let Andy in on it in the first place?!
And....did Andy get Barney's suit cleaned in world record time before he gave it to Barney after Mr. Izamoto wore it to fight Fred? Or did Mr. Izamoto manage to keep it spotless during the fight?
Hmm...

Possum,
My advice to you as a former caregiver...
1. ANYthing that brings you joy or happiness, Andy Griffith Show, being outside, enjoying a hobby you might have, embrace it with a bear hug and act like you are already past your troubles when you do them. Immerse yourself in what and wherever you find happiness and joy!
2. If you have to scream in a pillow, smack your bed, break down and cry, do it.
My support and sympathy.

DEAR POSSUM, I echo what JM and others said above.
And, I 'stood' on many scriptures. They really helped,
such as Greater is He who is in me than he who is in to world!
'We are more than conquerers in Christ Jesus.'
There are many good ones online that kept me going.
PRAYERS,

Hey Porch,
I'm not a coffee drinker, but I know some of you probably are and I just thought I'd tell you all about Sanka coffee in the nice to hold new jar! It's also made from a blend of the world's most flavorful coffees and you can drink as much as you want, any time you want!
I appreciate it and good night!

I forgot to mention to you all I think that i ended up in the ER last week with a blood pressure of 200/110 that wouldnt budge even after doubling my blood pressure med. It has never been nearly that high. Drs added an additional BP med and it is coming down, though not as low as I would like it to be so having to cut the salt and exercise, which isnt a bad thing. Trying to deal better with stress but lately I have been having to work more so Bruce can eventually retire. As I mentioned, we have lost money from his retirement investments with the tariff stuff that is going on.
Hope you all had a blessed Easter. We had a houseful as usual but it was enjoyable and I didnt have to do much cooking since Bruce did the meat on the pellet grill.
Better get going. Have a doctor's appointment and then have a patient to see. Take care

Hey Porch,
I wanted to share something...I was really down today. I mean kind of in a dark place and just really reeling. I decided to peruse YouTube and bring up things I watched some time ago...The Osmonds doing "Crazy Horses," Business" and "Down By The Lazy River," Rich Little and Foster Brooks on the "Tonight Show with Johnny Carson," Stringbean playing his banjo and I had a blast! Folks, if you are down and sometimes miss the past, watch some things you may not have for many years and it may just put you in a whole different mood. I go to bed smiling. Have a great night!

JM...Music is good medicine....It calms us, inspires us, lifts us, and takes us to good places...But we have to be careful it also can take us back to places we don’t want to visit!

I don't have time to sit and rock at the moment, but wanted to say that I received a blessing today that had "SHADES of MAYBERRY" all over it. God is so good and He works in mysterious ways. Thank you for the blessing.
Love and prayers to all.

A good Mayberry friend recently shared the following with me that they saw posted on FB;
and I would like to share it with y'all, because, IMHO, it really sums up the Taylor front porch
pretty dang well...
"In life, we meet many people. Some stay for a short while, and others become part of our journey. But the ones we never forget are those who stood by us during our hardest times.
When everything in life feels heavy when you’re heartbroken, lost, or struggling, it’s easy for people to walk away. Not everyone wants to deal with someone who’s going through pain. But there are a few rare people who stay. They don’t run from your sadness. Instead, they sit with you in it.
These are the people who hold your hand without asking for anything in return. They listen without judging. They remind you that you are still worthy of love, even when you feel broken. They don’t try to fix things. They simply make sure you don’t feel alone.
You may forget those who were there during your good days. But you will always remember the ones who showed you love when you were at your lowest. Their kindness, support, and presence leave a deep mark on your heart.
Hold on to those people. Appreciate them. Because in a world where many come and go, the ones who love you when you’re down. They are truly rare and special."
Prayers,
MDC :)

This version of The Taylor's Front Porch
has been created to pay our respect to the original porch found on Mayberry.org.
Thanks to Frank for all the work he did for Mayberry on the web. We've tried
to make this just like Frank's Porch. This is also a tribute to Ollie's
"Trivialities" site which was another homage to Frank's porch but is no longer
with us.
