March 04, 2020 - Msg 113833: Well, good morning, porchsters! Sorry I've been absent, am having computer problems. Actually, I don't think it's the computer, I think it's my internet service. It's dragging, takes up to a full minute to pull up a requested site. I've had Spectrum out here, they replaced my modem and it worked for a day or two, but now it's doing the same thing again. Grrrr.

Boo, what a sweet thing for you to say. You are so kind, makes me feel quite humble, and I really do wish that there weren't so many miles between us. Thank you for sharing that tender moment between you and Bruce. Very sweet and touching, and I think you called it just right. The little boy in him was missing his mama. So kind of you to comply, and fill that gap for him at that time. Little moments like that are the mortar that holds the bricks together in a marriage.

The tornado in Tennessee was just terrible. Few things frighten me more than that, except fire, and so often there are fires after a tornado. Scary indeed. I think it's even worse when it happens at night. Prayers for all who were involved, and for the families who are grieving now.

It's cloudy and rainy here today, but not stormy. We've had enough rain to bring the earthworms to the surface, and my yard is full of robins, just running around everywhere, enjoying the feast. They are so adorable. The squirrels are braving the rain and chilly wind too, not for earthworms, but for the ancient love call! There are three pair of them out there, chasing each other. I'm pretty sure they're shifting partners at times too, but can't be positive. Squirrels pretty much all look alike, at least to us. Maybe they can't tell the difference either, or maybe they just don't care.

Trinket is doing very well on her potty training. She has not had an accident that I've seen for at least three weeks. Of course, with all the old spots on the carpet, I can't be sure, but I haven't found any fresh ones. I'll be getting the carpet cleaned at the end of the month. I hope it works, because if it doesn't, I'll have to replace it. Argh! Of course, her little bombs are still showing up on the (washable) rug in the sunroom, but lately, more and more I'm finding them in her potty box, and less often on that rug. She's really getting pretty, too. She's bigger than I wanted, over ten pounds, but she's got a beautiful coat, and is so sweet. Very loving, but then that's why I got another Maltese. They're all so sweet. After Sugarplum and Toye Starr, I just couldn't imagine having any other breed. She's so energetic and playful, a born clown, and makes me laugh from morning to night. You can't ask more of a little dog than that!

Well, guess I'd better go feed her, and perhaps myself as well. Blessings, everyone! --Romeena

March 04, 2020 - Msg 113836: Well Romeena has Trinket trained to where she doesn't have to clean up after her, so we keep her busy sweeping the porch. There ain't no off switch on them Texas gals. :)

Prayers John Masters for your family.

Glad all is well Maude, weather wise. I sure hope Mr Maude can find something soon.

Hey papabear, sorry you been ailing. I hope things are better.

MDC, I bet it was warm and stuffy up in that attic. Glad you got it set in place. Now just wire it up and you are back in like Flynn. Just in time for Boo's bean menu. :)

My goodness, Spring is starting to show some muscle here finally. One tiny little patch of snow in the shade of my house in the back yard, and that should be gone by this afternoon. Then I can break out my rider and start getting some stuff done around here. I just realized I don't have a name for my rider. Any thoughts? It's a Snapper brand, a pretty red in color. She's purty and dependable. Maybe I'll call her Peggy or Peg for short. Peggy could be a bit "snappish" if provoked. What do you think?

March 04, 2020 - Msg 113837: Just a quick check in to Thank everyone for their prayers for everyone in Nashville and Cookeville TN.
I live just 30 minutes North of Nashville but have to travel through the city to get to work in Franklin TN.
I have lived here all my life and saw the Nashville Tornadoes of 1998; in fact I was working in Downtown Nashville at the time for Lifeway. Our parking was on the roof of the building we worked in and I just had left work when the tornado hit and in fact I could literally see it in my rear view mirror.
We are very Thankful for the blessings of His safety and pray for those who have been hurt and for those who lost loved ones this week.
Please continue to pray for us as it will take weeks, months and even years to recover and re-build the structures and put lives back together.
However, God will watch over us and even bring good out of this tragedy.
Hope to be able to come back and sit a spell and rock.
Please know that I don't post very often but I come by and read the post almost everyday and pray for you all by name. This porch is a great place for me to come and escape to Mayberry and get away from it all for a little bit.
God Bless You all!

March 04, 2020 - Msg 113841: Tonite's episode was the Pageant! I always liked Floyd's acting is that one. To see him trying to sing "all hail to thee, miss mayberry" to mrs. Bishop at the end always cracks me up! Also, when Mayor Pike tells Andy as long as one of his 3 daughters win, he'll be happy! ha
Prayers continue for Tenn. It has been good to see on the news that many are stepping up and helping in the aftermath.
Well, the field of candidates continues to dwindle. Should be interesting to see who it finally will be.
Yes, ASA, it is always a feeling of accomplishment to get something done like that, but also as stated, like you and the roofing, I think I'm done with "attic stuff!" :)
Pappa Bear, good to see you. I should mention to ya all that PB celebrated his 75th in February! :)
Today was echocardiogram day. I know the tech pretty well as she has been there about 10 years, and she told me that my EF was again improved, now at 48%. I told her that I hope she won't get 'in trouble' for telling me, to which she said, no problem. I see the doc in two weeks to go over all the results.
RO--cool that you have all those little critters to watch. Does Trinket ever look out at them?
God's blessings,

March 05, 2020 - Msg 113842: Good evening, porch. This is probably the only website on the internet that I would be willing for sit and wait for, for about five minutes, for it to load. I talked with Spectrum again today, and they're sending someone out tomorrow to try to find the problem. Actually, it works fine for just moving around the resident files, but when I go after something remote, like this porch, it just sits there and ruminates for varying periods of time. Email loads in about a minute. the porch took nearly five minutes tonight, and my favorite jigsaw puzzle just can't find its way home at all. My friend Bruce hooked up to my computer this afternoon, found a couple of little glitches, but nothing that had any effect. Then he found that an update to Firefox had never been updated. Others had, because little reminder boxes would pop up on my monitor, but Bruce said that particular function, something about 1909 or some such, never sends the notices. You're just supposed to go muddling around in the computer and ask if it wants an update. Dumb.

Bruce is battling an aggressive cancer, and is in treatment now, so he wasn't feeling too well. I had sent him an email a couple of days ago, asking him to call me whenever he felt up to it. I hated to do it, but I need him, and more importantly, he needs the work. He has made his living as a computer consultant for many years, and is not yet ready to retire, so with the additional expenses he has right now. he's still working. Otherwise, I would never have bothered him. Anyway, after a while I could hear the fatigue in his voice and suggested he put my stuff away for today, go grab a nap, and call me in a few days, or whenever he's feeling up to it, and we'll finish up. He didn't argue. I would appreciate it if you all would pray for my friend Bruce.

PapaBear, it's good to hear from you, sorry you've had to be in the hospital, glad you're out now, and hope you can continue to visit the porch. We miss you when you're gone.

SMH, your experience with the tornadoes back in 1998 must have been so scary! I'm glad these recent ones didn't find you. It's nice to know that you're visiting, even when you don't say anything, but we would love to hear more from you, when you can.

MDC, it's good to hear about that 48% EF. That's definitely not too shabby. I think we've talked about this in the past, but I forgot what was said. Do you take Co-Q-10? I think I've told you this, but years ago, I was plodding along with an EF of about 37%, and an old nurse friend told me about Co-Q-10 and suggested I take it. I asked my (then) cardiologist about it, he said it was voodoo medicine, but wouldn't hurt me, and to go ahead and take it. I got some, took it for about six months, and a subsequent echocardiogram found an EF of 51% or so. The doc was impressed, asked me if I was still taking that voodoo stuff, I told him I was, and he said "don't stop. It's working." I've taken it ever since, and now have an EF of 58%, consistently. Several things wrong with my heart, and I'm older than dirt, but that 58% holds up! I think that supplement does more for me than my prescriptions go, and when I mentioned that to my (now) cardiologist, he said he wouldn't be at all surprised.

Boo, you and yours are always in my prayers. God is good, and faithful. Hang in there. Blessings! Romeena

SMH, Good to see you posting and thanks for your prayers. As Romeena said, I hope you will feel comfortable posting more, but glad you peek in a lot. You are always welcome.

Romeena, Prayers indeed for Bruce. I do hope he can overcome that dreaded stuff. I have been having a lot of wifi issues also. We installed a new router yesterday and hopefully that will fix the problem. At least that problem. Seems like anymore there are computer problems. Gets kind of old after a while.

MDC, Glad your fan is functioning now. You da man!

Well off to get some stuff done around here. Looks to be a beautiful day starting.

March 05, 2020 - Msg 113848: Good morning, porch! Papa Bear, we're bright and sunny, too! It's 50°, heading for 71° today! Sure does look pretty out there.

MDC, hooray for your brother! If ever some place needed a level-headed candidate, to compete with the misguided, off-the-track residents of La La Land, it would be California. I hope he wins big. Big! Really Big!

Gotta run - the Spectrum guy should be here around 10, and I just got up. I surely hope he can fix whatever is wrong, because I'm really tired of these long, long waits for something to load here on the computer. At this point, neither Bruce nor I can be sure whether the fault is in Spectrum, or a hang-up in the computer itself. Various tests produced inconclusive results when Bruce was working on it yesterday, so I guess we'll just have to wait and see. That "1909" thing, whatever it is, is probably the answer, but it would have taken half the night to download the updates. Very annoying. Well, this too shall pass. Blessings, porch! --Romeena

March 05, 2020 - Msg 113849: Hooray! The Spectrum guy has been and gone, and my computer is now functioning at what feels like the speed of light! He poked around in the computer for a little while, said the update I mentioned in #113842 definitely should be done, but he didn't think it was the problem. He then replaced my year-old router with a new one, and suddenly, all is well. Apparently the router was at fault. After that, he asked for my phone, and using the Ring app, he updated all four cameras and set them up with the new password for the new router. Incidentally, that should foil whoever has been using my wifi to pirate movies and music. It's not me, or any of my family, but somebody has been doing it, and Spectrum has said if it doesn't stop, they will close my account. I can only identify one possibility - the teenagers next door - and this will stop them in their tracks. So, needless to say, I was very grateful to the tech who did all that. He did a fine job!

Well, I missed lunch (not unusual) so I think I'll go have a glass of tea and eat a bowl of unsalted roasted peanuts. I love unshelled roasted peanuts, and don't particularly like the excess salt. By the way, Kroger is now selling salted, roasted peanuts in the shell, and they are flavored with garlic and dill, and they're really, really good! I know, it sounds weird, especially the dill, but it's very good. Try them. I double-dog dare ya!

Blessings. -- Romeena

Hey papabear, you comedian you. Good jokes. Did you hear about the one where someone destroyed the toilet in the Mayberry Jail. When asked if he has any clue as to who did it, Deputy Fice said "No, I don't have a thing to go on!" :)

Frankie, sounds like that stuff is spreading out everywhere. I hope it is not as bad as the press seem to be making it seem.

MDC, NASCAR in your town? Boy oh boy, PGA Golf and now fast cars. I have only been to one NASCAR event in my life. That was in 2005 at Fontana Raceway in So. California. It were ok, but I was brought up on the noise, power, and smell of nitro burning AA/FD at NHRA events. Just nothing compares to the 10,000 H.P. those monsters churn. Did you get your fan all wired in ok? Does it turn on when you flush the toilet now? You can tell Cecile you planned it that way although I'm not sure what you can say that she has to stand on the scale to turn it off. :)

The clocks spring forward tonight, so don't forget. Maybe the last time we have to do that here. We have a bill pending in the legislature that will make DST year round. It doesn't really matter to now that I'm retired, but when I was working I had probably 50 clocks or more that I had to deal with twice a year. One was a master clock for our fire sprinkler system and I declare it took close to an hour to program the stupid thing to change at the set time. Oh well, somebody else's dance now. ha ha

Our Spring was short lived. Supposed to be rain turning to snow tomorrow. That's ok. It won't last and the temps are on the way up.

I have decided to not go out in public much for a few weeks until hopefully this virus scare runs out. With Debbie's compromised immune system, I fear bringing her any thing home. So no Preaching for a few weeks. Maybe I am overreacting but I'd rather be prudent in my thinking for her sake.

Prayers for all. Be safe and sane.

Asa

March 08, 2020 - Msg 113864: ASA--so you may have to fire-up the "third party" again? ha
Yup, fan/heater/light all go on like they are suppose to! I'll give my own 'Yabba Dabba Do' to that! :)
Also, I hear ya regarding the nitro burners vs the nascar stocks!
Also, with nascar drivers purposely bumping each other now, a lot of the 'sport' has gone out of it, IMHO.
Our church has announced that more precautions will be taken regarding the virus.
During our services, we have what is called a 'sign of peace' which is usually a handshake with those around you, while saying 'the peace of Jesus' or 'peace be with you.' Well, now we're told to refrain from the handshake for now. Also, more precautions will be taken at communion time.
FRANKIE, I think it is in all states now. Those with compromised immune systems are the most vulnerable. We have been told to wash hands more, etc, as we did with the N1H1 of a few years back. So ASA, with your ill wife, I can certainly understand your outlook. Good on you. :)
I was out doing errands today and felt pretty safe, didn't really think about it actually.
Good Sabbath and prayers for all!

March 08, 2020 - Msg 113867: Well, good morning, porch! I forgot all about the time change, didn't adjust my clocks, and am sitting here at my window, about to put my war paint on so I can go to church. I decided to check out the happenings on the porch, and learned that it's an hour later than I thought. If I left right now, in my nightgown and no makeup, hair sticking straight up, I would just slide into my SS department in time to scare everyone out of a year's growth. So, I guess I'll stay home. God will understand. Some of my friends won't, and will tease me about being able to make it to bunco on Friday night, but can't make it to church. They're right, I'm sorry to say.

I'm having very ambivalent feelings about this Coronavirus thing. I've concluded that it's all about publicity. I don't mean to downplay it, it's an awful thing, but it's new on the scene, and so we're hearing more about it. Papa Bear is right, the Bible does speak of pestilence as the end times approach, but we've had pestilences long before now. Personally I consider alcohol, drugs and tobacco to be pestilences. More people die from those three things every day, either directly or indirectly, than will ever die from Coronavirus. Yet they just go merrily on, enjoy advertising on TV and billboards (maybe drugs aren't advertised, but still, they seem to be unstoppable) and nobody seems to see the irony of it all. Yesterday I watched a 30-something man walk out of the grocery store, wearing a surgical mask, presumably to avoid catching the virus. He got in his car, removed the mask, and lit a cigarette. A woman wearing a mask was behind me in the checkout line at the grocery, used one of the hand sanitizer things the store has placed conveniently, and set three bottles of wine and a case of beer on the checkout belt. As Puck said in "A Midsummer Night's Dream" - "Lord, what fools these mortals be." Or, as Jesus said in Matthew 23: "You strain out a gnat, but swallow a camel!"

I don't mean to make little of the virus thing. Certainly it's a terrible threat, and we need to take precautions, and pray that science is quickly developing a defense. Asa, you definitely are right in protecting Debbie right now, by avoiding crowds, washing your hands a LOT, and maybe even showering before you go near her, if you've been around other people. For all of us, right now might not be a good time to go on a cruise, the ships seem to be getting hit pretty hard. Same goes for flying. Crowded, confined areas where people have gathered might just be good places to avoid. Yet, I'll guarantee you that last night there were people sitting shoulder-to-shoulder in bars and clubs, drinking until they needed someone to drive them home (let's hope they called someone) and those same people will be seen in the grocery store wearing a mask! I'm not making fun of the virus thing, please know that, but I am saying we need to keep it in perspective, and examine our fears in a different light. While we're majoring on the new threat, let's not ignore the old ones.

Whew! Enough of that! Blessings, everyone! --Romeena

March 08, 2020 - Msg 113871: ...An hour later than it was at this time yesterday?

March 08, 2020 - Msg 113872: Good evening, porch. I don't know what came over me today, but after missing church this morning, I made a little bowl of cheese grits, then settled into my recliner in the early afternoon, and didn't wake up until Trinket got tired of playing by herself at around 6 pm. Now, I'll admit that I doze for little naps now and then, but to sleep all afternoon? I don't usually do that. I'll probably find it hard to get to sleep tonight.

Regarding Daylight Savings Time (or DST), I have never had a problem with it. It may be because after 35 years of hospital hours, working different shifts, etc., I just don't notice the time. When I went to Mongolia, with a BIG time change, it just wasn't a problem for me then either, but some of our group plodded around like they were walking in molasses for days. From childhood, I've always slept when I'm sleepy, and don't when I'm not. I actually pretty much eat the same way. I don't have a clock in my stomach, like Barney does. I just eat when I'm hungry, and don't when I'm not. I cooked regular meals at regular hours when my family was here, but now that it's just me, I don't follow any schedule. My buddy Eloise, on the other hand, has a clock in her stomach for sure. I can practically hear it chiming! Again, not a problem. If she wants to go to lunch, and I haven't even thought about lunch, I just go, eat, and enjoy. Life goes much more smoothly if you're not tied to a clock!

My microwave died yesterday. My trusty, Sharp brand, 2 cu. ft., 1200 watt microwave that I bought in 2002. I really liked that thing, it was a workhorse, big enough to accept a 9x13" baking dish and still rotate it on the turntable, and it was simple to use. Not a lot of totally unnecessary bells and whistles, it just did its job. I was cooking two ears of corn, and decided to give them one more minute. I turned it on, and as I walked away, it made a terrible, loud buzzing noise, and fire was shooting out of one sidewall, into the oven part. I punched it off, unplugged it, and removed my corn! No, I'm not planning to pay anybody to repair it, I'll just get a new one. I'd always be afraid of this one now, and I can get a new one for under $200. I think after 18 years this one should just go to Microwave Heaven.

By the way, speaking of corn on the cob, I've got the neatest way to cook it, and you don't burn your fingers. I buy the corn with all the shucks still on. Peel off the larger, thicker ones. With a sharp knife, whack off the tassel end, leaving at least an inch of shuck, don't cut into the corn. On the other end, with that sharp knife, cut through the shucks and slightly into the corn, about one ring of kernels into the ear. You can feel through the shucks and tell where to cut. Don't cut the end off, just cut in deeply enough to cut through all the silks. Put the ears on a paper plate, shucks still intact, and sprinkle a small amount of water over the corn, just off your fingertips. The steam it will create helps cook the corn.

Microwave for about 5 minutes, turning it over once about halfway through. Remove from oven, protect your hand with a folded paper towel, and hold onto the stalk end. Now grasp the tassel end firmly, and pull. The entire envelope of shucks, silk and all, will pull away cleanly, and your corn is ready to eat. That little bit you left on the stalk end makes a handy handle while you're eating. You can add salt, butter, whatever you like on corn. If it's good sweet corn, I just sprinkle a little Molly McButter on it, and enjoy. You can adjust the microwave time up or down, depending on the corn. If it's big ears, big kernels, mature corn, maybe give it a minute or two more. If it's my favorite, young and tender kernels, very sweet, maybe reduce the time a minute. However you cook it, it's goo-ood!

Well, I have an ear left from last night. No microwave, so I'll just cut it off the cob into a small buttered skillet, and heat it that way. A Dollop of Daisy won't hurt it a bit, either. Hmmm. I think I might be hungry.

Blessings, friends! --Romeena

BTW, that sounds like a great way to to cook an ear of corn, minus the fire from the side wall of course! haha
(Glad you and the kichen were OK.)
On Monday i am going to participate an a-fib research study in Scottsdale. (No experimental drugs involved)
I saw it on-line, Hope Research, a reputable co., was looking for candidates, and my condition fit the bill so to speak. It will be 2 and a half hours with a physical, ekg, some treadmill, and stationary bike. Will be compensated 400 clams!
BTW, in my lifetime, AZ has never done the DST thing, so I am good! :)
Pappabear, you are in my prayers. Happy belated birthday!
More later.

March 09, 2020 - Msg 113877: good one gf. I always tell va pharmacy... how is my favorite dope dealers today. you kmow you are getting old when it takes you longer to take your meds than it does to eat a three course meal. have a blessed day papa bear

March 09, 2020 - Msg 113878: Good morning, porch. I just got in under the wire, by about 13 minutes, with that "morning" greeting. As I predicted, I was awake until nearly 5 this morning, just watching TV, or listening to a CD channel on the TV. "Easy Instrumentals" is a favorite. All instrumentals, of course, and lots of golden oldies. Not surprisingly, I know almost all of the songs they play, and they do play a variety. "Scarlet Ribbons", "Crazy", "Moonglow", "I'll Be Seeing You", and so on. I'm the same way with hymns, I know hundreds of them. Yet, I just can't get the "new" music to stick. It shouldn't be hard, because it's mostly just repetition of the same phrases, over and over, but the melodies ramble all over the place, rhyming is almost non-existent, and I'll promise you, they are not the songs that replay in my head on the way home. Oh, well, I guess my age is showing.

Papa Bear, I know what you mean about the pills. After I get my meds taken, I'm too full to even think about eating for quite a while! Only about six or seven prescriptions, but I take a handful of over-the-counter supplements, almost all ordered by a doctor. By the way, it's nice seeing you on the porch so regularly now. I wish more of our old regulars would return, those who can. I miss our dear Tom, bless his sweet little heart. (Sniff!)

Oh, my goodness! My back yard just filled up with red-wing blackbirds! There must be a hundred of them. They all came in at once, just a black cloud descending, and now they're searching the grass for food. They eat both seeds and insects, so they should find both out there. The squirrels are highly indignant at the intrusion, and have retreated to the trees, sitting there chattering and flicking their tails. They are so cute.

Yep, MDC, I don't think it would even help to call the man to look at my microwave. He'd probably just say, "Yep, that's a microwave alright, but it's a dead one." Then he'd charge me for a house call, the robber! So, instead I'm going to con my son into going with me, and I'll just buy a new one. I hope I can get one like the old one, because I really liked it, and got good service from it.

Well, guess I'll go get a few things done. Eddie is supposed to come and plant bulbs and a few little bedding plants today, but it's gray and drippy outside, I'm guessing he won't come. He'll be calling me soon, probably. Blessings, friends. --Romeena

March 09, 2020 - Msg 113879: Afternoon all. I didn't make the high noon deadline.
Just got back from my tooth doctor. I have one that started aching some last week. He took a couple of x-rays and did some probing but he couldn't see a thing wrong. He did find a small cavity on a tooth right in front of it, but didn't even have to deaden it to drill it it was that small. So he put me on some antibiotics just to be safe.

Romeena, My microwave is a built in one so I hope it never goes bad. But I know it will. Just a few months after we built the house, we get a recall notice on it and are instructed to kill all power to it until it can be repaired. I guess there had been a few that had caught on fire through the touchpad. But included in the notice was a voucher to buy a counter top microwave until they could repair the built in one. And they were here to repair it in just a few days. I thought they would take the counter top one, but they said nope, that's yours to keep. Gosh, that was almost 20 years ago. Wow, in fact it is 20 years this year. Time moves right along.
In regards to napping, If I can sneak in a 5 or 10 minute nap during the day it really boosts my energy. But if it turns into any longer than that, I'm a mess the rest of the day. No energy, no vigor. I feel very Henry Wheelerish. I wonder what causes that? And yes MDC, I will wake up confused like that sometimes. I hate it. I'm glad it doesn't happen often.

MDC, It took me a second to figure out your comment about firing up the third party, then it landed. Been giggling about it since. I didn't need her services though. We just had a small bit of rain and that was it. So I will be getting Peg all primped and primed for the season. :) I hope you being a test rat works out ok buddy. As long as they keep their needled to themselves.

GF, I wish you lived closer so we could go down to the Diner once a week and relive our glory days over some breakfast or lunch. I bet you have some good stories from your past I'd love to hear.

Well off to figure out what's for supper tonight. Romeena sent me some recipes that look pretty doable and tasty. Maybe I'll see what I can put together.

March 09, 2020 - Msg 113882: Hello friends. Hope you are all well this evening. Its is rainy and cool here, not cold though.

Romeena, I haven't seen a bird or squirrel on our place for months thanks to a big old hawk that sits on our fence posts every morning and late afternoon. He or she is a beauty and I certainly don't have the heart to take a shot at him..he may be feeding a family somewhere but I hate that he is getting the birds and squirrels. Life is hard, that's just a fact of nature.

Well, worked a really tough shift alone yesterday and actually came to the point of tears a couple of times. It is really getting harder and harder and is becoming too much for me. Last night I had to admit a very violent, screaming 16 year old boy with a history of suicide attempts and violence others. He had been in several behavioral hospitals before coming to us..has visual and auditory hallucinations, just should not be in our facility but administration makes some really bad decisions. I was never alone with the boy but got close enough to him that the hair on the back of my neck stood up..just that instinct that you feel when you are in danger. He was 6 foot and weighed 245 pounds so he could have killed me in the right circumstances. I think I finally had enough. Bruce and I had a long talk on the porch swing tonight and I think he got me to see some things. I am going to start looking for something else. I will finish out the month or stay until I find something else but I only work 9 days in March so it wont be so bad I hope. I hung on waiting for the new buyers to change things but that just isn't happening...so much wrong there and I just don't feel safe anymore.

Please pray for direction in another place of employment..thanks!

Love,
Boo

March 09, 2020 - Msg 113883: Boo- sending prayers your way.

March 10, 2020 - Msg 113886: OK,pappabear, I'll give you a little competition in the joke dept.: A son tells his mom that he doesnt want to go to school anymore. His mom says why not?
Because the teachers dont like me and the kids don't like me, to which the mom responds: But Johnny, you're 37 years old and you're the PRINCIPAL! harhar
The afib study went well today. 2 and a half hours and a check for $400!
I found out that it is sponsored by Apple to design a better app for their smart watch. I read and signed a few papers, was given a physical, asked about 20 questions, than got 12 lead put on me, and on my wrist an Apple watch attached to a computer, pedalled a stationary bike for different intervals, the staff recorded the results, and off I went, sans the leads and the apple watch, but check in hand! :)
BOO--I am so sorry to hear that things are still bad at shoreline.
What about the school nurse position? you are in my prayers every morning.
As papabear says, God has a good one out there for ya.
RO--too bad you could not have caught'four and twenty blackbirds' and made
a pie! ha Also, those bulbs that you plant, are they 40 watt or 60 watt? (OK, a very stupid joke!) teehee
ASA--I knew the 3rd party joke was a stretch, glad you figured it out! :)
We are supposed to get RAIN here for the next few days! We sure need it.
Frankie, used our granite stone for the first time tonight. It was one of those Bertoli 'bag dinners.' Ever have those? Worked great.
GF--My pillbox only has one letter on each lid, so when I see a "T" I'm not sure
if it's Tuesday or Thursday, like when yer gas gauge says F but it's reall an E!> :)
God's blessings,
MDC
