Well I'm gone for 2 months so as punishment y'all make me sweep!
March 17, 2019 - Msg 111880:
Good afternoon, porch. Lucy, it's good to see you. We've missed you, girl! And a nice job you did of the sweeping, too! Interesting, your pronunciation of "oil." In Texas, you'll hear both "awl" and the 2-syllable "oy-yul", and sometimes a combination, as "aw-yul." Also, Spanish influence is heard in many words. Naturally, any Texan knows that a double "l" in a Spanish word, as in "tortilla", is pronounced like a "y". Actually, that seems to be spreading across the country, because a lot of "yankees" use it these days. It used to be that you could spot a northerner immediately, when they said "tor-till-a", but you don't hear that much anymore. Also, most people now seem to know that a jalapeño pepper is not pronounced with a "j" like in "jar", but rather with an "h" like in "hat", and that the "n" contains a "y", like a kid saying "nyah, nyah". Well, how did I get off into that? Sorry!
That funny white cat with the black tail seems to have taken up residence around my house. I don't mind, if he'll take care of the rat population, but he'd better leave my birds and squirrels alone!
Regarding the young preacher our committee is considering, if he's a mature individual, his age shouldn't be a problem. My church has launched many a young preacher. We will take them right out of seminary, appoint them to be the minister to whatever age group needs a pastor at the moment, and give them some practical experience. Our senior pastor lets them shadow him at times, they get to preach to the congregation now and then, and get some seasoning under their belt. Then when some church is seeking a pastor, they can apply, and off they go.
Our youth minister from when my kids were teens is now the pastor of a very large church in San Antonio. Many others have gone on to pastor churches around the country. This young man, is doing just what all those young men did. He is currently the minister to students and college at First Baptist in Alabaster, Alabama, and my church will be his first time to be the actual pastor of the whole church.
He's going to find a challenge. I'm trusting God, that He has led our committee to the one He wants to shepherd this church through some difficult times. The demographics in Irving have changed drastically over the last few years. The city is now predominantly Hispanic. Our church has a Hispanic congregation, with a Spanish-speaking pastor who conducts their services. I'm sure that will continue forever, but we are finding many of the folks who speak enough English are coming over into the English-speaking services. Every few months, we have a "Mosaic" service, where we combine the services, and have both pastors preaching. The English speaker preaches, and the Spanish-speaker interprets. So, this young man has his work cut out for him, if he comes, and I think he will. I like his looks, in his picture. He's a somewhat stocky young man, with a big, wide, happy grin and eyes that contain just a little spark of mischief. He may be just what we need.
Well, enough of that. I need to go rustle up something to eat, I guess. Blessings, friends. --Romeena

Hello Porch,
Good to see Lucy Matthews and everyone else. My prayers for your mother, Frankie.
I have had a few days off work, but not by choice. Long story, but Shoreline messed up and neglected to send my info to the state for my annual backgrounds check, which meant I had to go get fingerprints over again and now have to wait for the background check to clear before I can go back to work. It really wasn't a welcome break because I worked so hard the last 2 weeks expecting to at least be comforted by the overtime. Now, it wont matter because I am forced to take days off. I am trying to be positive but it is getting harder. I just got a call today from our secretary telling me that she is quitting tomorrow, no 2 week notice, just cleaning out her desk and going. That will mean more duties for the nurses and right now the day nurse has been working double shifts because I cant be there. It is a disaster. If my boss were here instead of in Europe, it would help. I guess I cant blame her for using her vacation time before the place folds.
So, I am back at the school working this coming week and am looking forward to that. I am getting bored here at home with chores and just dealing with the everyday problems. Same old thing but I feel depressed today and just have no initiative.
Romeena, our pastor was young when he started pastoring our church. He is now 53 and we have never had a church split or any major problems and the church is thriving. Sometimes young is very good. We have a healthy balance of ages, many young families and elderly, and everything in between. maybe a young pastor will draw in younger families for your church.
Hope you all have a nice evening. I think I will have some coffee and chill.
Thank you for the thoughts and prayers, as always. I never, ever take those for granted.

Hope everything is going OK in your life.
Hang in there and keep the faith.
RO--I'm sure you have heard of 'spinlish.' We have a lot of that here. The crew that was building our raised flower
beds used that...Spanish with English words thrown in!
For those on FB, SPOT has finished his shop/garage(i.e.: 'toybox.') It turned out nice

Well ASA, it's Monday morning again, why not go have lunch with the guys. I still do that now and then (when I'm not under the knife that is!) ha

Good afternoon, porch! Yes, MDC, we have a lot of the Spanish/English mix around here, only we call it Spanglish. I use it myself sometimes. Actually, listening to and participating in its use is a good way to improve your command of the other language. Hearing a Spanish word used mixed in with English, I can usually figure out its meaning from the context, and it works the same for Spanish speakers who hear English words mixed in. Actually, it's fun to have even a weak command of Spanish, enough to pick up the gist of what's being said. I remember walking into a patient's room for the first time, a young woman who spoke no English, and the old papa of the family was there. I had been warned about him by the off-going nurse. Sure enough, he began talking in Spanish, making rude remarks about me, the hospital, the nursing care in general, whatever. I listened to him for a minute or two, then began speaking to the patient in Spanish but making eye contact with him. He turned bright red, picked up his hat and left the room. We didn't see him anymore that day.
Boo, that's just ridiculous, that they dropped the ball on your background check. I should think they would have to put you on paid leave, since it was their fault. Yeah, like that's going to happen! I'll be glad when that place settles things, either somebody buys it and makes it right, or it folds. I know you like working with the kids, I did too, when our hospital had a youth drug rehab unit. I worked in that unit for nearly a year, until they closed it. There's something about those needy kids - all bluff and bluster, trying to act tough, and then you go in and find a teddy bear in their bed. I remember one girl who was acting out quite badly, and I confined her to her room for two hours. Two whole hours! Then I read back over her history, and found where she had been arrested for theft, as well as prost#tution, and held in juvenile detention for six months, in solitary confinement for part of the time, because of disruptive behavior. And I'm confining her to her room for two hours? Scary.
Well, guess I'll find some lunch. Blessings, friends! --Romeena

I know, Ro..it is getting a bit harder to hang in there and sometimes I am not sure why I do but then I remember the kids. Last night I went in just to pick up my paycheck and met a new kid that was admitted on the weekend. He was obviously very feminine and had many girlish features. He was wearing girl's shoes and his hair was long and dyed. All I could think is how is he going to survive being among those tough, probation boys?! I don't know if he will make it and we really aren't equipped to deal with a trans#xual kid. Scary situation with so few staff members and counselors now. I suspect his parents will pull him out when someone gets ahold of him. It worries me but I'm not even there to monitor the situation. Its beginning to really get on my nerves. I don't think the place can hold on much longer. One of our good counselors, who has been there for years, quit on Friday. More and more of the counselor duties are falling to the nurses, who aren't trained for it, and there just aren't enough of us to do it all. I just wish I could go back to work. I find that I get depressed being at home now and want to go work and get my mind off things. I am going to be working three days at the school this week and next, so that helps. I am scheduled at the junior high and high school the next two weeks.
Thank you for those prayers, MDC. I know I share a lot with all of you, but there are things I don't share and it gets to be tough. The prayers mean the world. I think of all of you often and though I don't pray as often as I used to, formally anyway, you are all in my thoughts and I am always aware of the struggles each of you has in this life. The past few years have not been easy for any of us. Love you all.

Morning all.
MDC, My crockpot sees more action as the weather warms. That and my grill. I never knew that old Ben Matlock was ever on Diagnoses Murder. I'll have to look for part 2 today. Dick Van Dyke was on an episode of Matlock very early in the series. He was a Judge who was having a fling with a younger woman, and the younger woman was having a fling with a young man, and the Judge found out about it and wasn't a bit happy about it. So he killed the young woman and tried to frame her young lover. Somehow Ben ended up defending the young man and he figured it all out pretty quick like. I mean he had too. It is only an hour long show, maybe 40 minutes if you eliminate the commercials. :)
Gosh Boo, I wish there was something more I could offer you besides my prayers. You sound so down. I hope you know you can always come here an unburden yourself. Actually our Sunday School lesson this week was from Matthews account of the Saviors message of the yoke. Prayers continue for sure.
Romeena, Keep us informed of how the new Preacher works out. Maybe you can invite him over for supper one night, and have him pray over the food, you know, a trial prayer to see how he does. Kind of like they had the new Doctor in Mayberry carve the turkey at Andy and Aunt Bees dinner party. :) (That isn't meant to sound malicious, just trying to bring a TAGS twist to it) lol
Gosh Lucy, so great to see you. Thanks for tidying up. Next time you are gone so long we will make you do the windows. :)
GF, I had to go pick up someone from the Airport last night so I missed the podcast. Hope it was a good one. If everything works out right, next Monday is when Karen Knotts will be doing her show in a Town about 80 miles south of us. My Stacey has said she would love to go, so I may miss next weeks podcast as well.
Funny as I sat there last night at the airport. They have a Park and Wait lot with a large electronic board showing all the incoming flights and what their status is. Flights coming in from all over world, and it got me to thinking how mobile a society we are. And how fast we get around. It takes me a little over an hour to get from my house to the Salt Lake International Airport (if the traffic is flowing well). The flight I was waiting for was coming in from Los Angles California. The person I was going to pick up was on the phone with me, just as she was about to board the plane, and just as I was heading out the door to go get her. So she traveled almost 700 miles as fast as I covered about 40 miles. Of course I have to pull over every 20 minutes to let the car rest. lol (I'm no Gilley Walker)
Gonna be in the 60's here today. :)
Prayers continue for Frankies Mom and for Frankie.

Good morning, folks! Just sitting here at my window, watching a silly little squirrel make a total fool of himself, trying to impress a little lady squirrel. It's not working.
Very gray and overcast today, but I don't think it's going to rain. The clouds don't look threatening, it just looks like somebody painted the sky gray. It would be a good day to get some yard work done, but I just don't have the stamina to do it. I can work for about fifteen minutes, then have to stop. I really hate that. I never imagined a day when I couldn't just do anything I wanted to do. I've always been healthy, reasonably strong, with very few limitations. As Bette Davis said, "Old age ain't no place for sissies."
Well, guess I'll go scare up some lunch. I've got a can of white chicken meat, maybe I'll make a good summery chicken salad. I put everything you can imagine in it, and it's good. I'll put in chopped pecans, dried cranberries, a little celery, a little onion, a small pinch of turmeric, some sliced grapes, some sweet relish, some deli-diced dill relish, a little diced mild jalapeño, and a couple of dashes of Tabasco. I'll dress it with some sour cream, and add a couple of tablespoons of mayo, for smoothness. Yep, I'll make that, but it will be for supper tonight, as it's better after it sits and "marries" for a while. I'll have to find something else for lunch.
Hang in there, Boo. God surely has something in mind for you - you have so much to offer - skill, compassion, understanding, patience. Don't be discouraged, your time will come.
Well, whether I feed me or not, Toye Starr is expecting something, so guess I'd better go put a little offering in her food dish. Whatever I put there, she'll snub it at first, will look at me as if to say "Is that the best you can do?" and walk away. Then in a couple of minutes, she'll return and lick the bowl clean. Silly puppy! Sometimes I'll sprinkle a little shredded cheese on top of the Cesar or Incredibites, whatever I've given her. She is wild for cheese, and can't resist it. It's hilarious to watch her try to pick the cheese off without getting into the dog food, but she always gets a little bit, and it tastes good, so she just eats the whole thing! She's a mess!
Blessings, friends.... --Romeena

She was way to cute to go to prison. lol I thought Andy looked a bit heavier than I remember seeing him in Matlock, so I did some searching and sure enough, this was made about 2 years after his Matlock series ended. I remember when I was in 4th grade, I fell off the monkey bars at school one day and broke my left wrist and my right wrist and forearm all at the same time. So my right arm was in a cast almost to my shoulder, and my left arm in a cast to just below my elbow for 3 months. So it was decided I should be home schooled for those 3 months. The DVD show and TAGS were on every day (reruns) back to back. So I was enjoying TAGS even back then. So kinda fun to see them together like that.
Aww Romeena, I'm sorry your age is getting in the way of your activities. I do know where you are coming from as I am searching for a good roofer. :) Your chicken salad sounds pretty good. You add a lot more to yours than I do. Gave me some good ideas to try.

Good morning all.
Boo, I am so worried about you. You and your family are going through a real challenge at the moment. I can tell it is really wearing on you. We are counseled often in scripture to endure to the end. It is not easy in this day and age. So many things the adversary is using to try and lure us away and off that straight and narrow path. Please stay strong and hang on. A wise man once said 'Prayer keeps man from sin, and sin keeps man from prayer". I believe we can exchange the word "sin" with a few different words such as adversity or indifference or apathy. I am not suggesting that you are in any of those categories. But rather that satan uses any means possible to try and drive a wedge between us and God. As MDC said, we are all praying for you and your family. I hope you have someone whom you can talk with about your situation. Maybe your Sister. And I hope it helps to even come here and share your thoughts and feelings. I think it is such a blessing to have someone we feel comfortable we can talk to, who is not judgmental, and can just be a listening board. We love you and your family Boo.
MDC, I don't believe I have ever seen me in any other shows other than TAGS. No pistol huh? I feel naked without it. (Sorry ladies) I saw Aunt Bee in Alfred the other day. And Bobby Fleet was married to Nurse Mary (Julie Adams) and that bought a home from non other than one of the Morrison sisters. The one who got all weak in the knees at the smell of witch hazel. And speaking of Mr. Hendricks, I sure see him turn up a lot in old westerns. As far as the 10:00 at night call, I reckon it's just as Barney said, when is a lawmans work ever done? lol
I do hope and pray that Frankie and her Mom are alright. Check in when you can Frankie.

Good morning, porch! Yesterday, my SS class provided lunch for the family of a class member who passed last weekend, and the funeral was yesterday. Bless her heart, she had been sick, battling lymphoma for about two years, so she was ready to go, and well-prepared, I'm happy to say.
On the way home, I finally stopped at the Office Depot up on the highway, and bought myself a new keyboard and mouse. It was on a 40% off sale, so I got it for just under $50. It's a big Logitech "comfort keyboard", wireless, and just beats the socks off that little dinky thing that came with the new computer. It sure fits my hands and typing patterns better, and I'm grateful for it, especially at that price!
Boo, I think we're all worried about you. It just seems as though life is conspiring to make you miserable these days. You are one of the kindest, most loving women I know, and yet life just keeps handing you challenges. Just keep leaning on Jesus, and don't give up. Let the love of God continue to shine through you, and God will not fail you. He has a plan for your family. Just "let go, and let God." We are praying for you, all of you. Even that silly puppy! You needed a bright and happy element in your lives, and God sent that busy little dog.
Asa, you have a gift for saying the sweetest, most "right-on" things to someone who needs comfort and support. I definitely count you as one of the blessings in my life.
For those of you who are 65 or more - prescription expense coverage can be a problem, I know. I have finally discovered SilverScripts, and recommend them highly. My monthly expense dropped drastically when I enrolled with them, and they are so nice to work with. It's not mail order, the cost is covered right at my chosen pharmacy, which is not one of the big impersonal ones, it's Brown's Pharmacy, next door to the hospital. I've used Brown's for forty years. They deliver if necessary, and once when I was having an attack of vertigo, they sent my meclizine out, the guy pushed it through the mailslot, offered to call someone for me, and told me I could pay for it next time I came in the store. I don't think Walgreen's or CVS would do that. They know me by my first name, and I know theirs. Yesterday, I got a call from SilverScripts, a pharmacist who wanted to go over my medication list with me, make sure we were all on the same page, and checking for any possible combinations that didn't work and play well together. Very friendly, courteous, and interested - and no charge. The monthly premium is small, not sure exactly what it is, but it's less than I was paying for CVS Caremark, which I just hated. Check 'em out!
Oh my! Here comes a flock of cedar waxwings into my back yard! They are such beautiful birds, they travel in mobs, and don't spend much time in one place, but while they're here, they are a sight to behold. They're attacking the eleagnus hedge along my west fence, going in and out of the hedge, very busy. I don't know what they're after. I did see one with a rose hip in its beak, and there are two rose bushes that have grown up into that hedge, but there couldn't be many hips in there. Well, whatever it is, they're welcome to it. Such beautiful birds, with their little yellow "wax" tip on their tails and wings, and their feathers that are so smooth they look like they've been painted on.
Well, guess I'd better go feed little tiny mite. She's sitting here looking at me, and occasionally touches me with her little bitty foot, to remind me she's still here and hasn't eaten yet. Her little feet are so small, I can blot out her foot print with my thumb print. How anything that little can function, I don't know, but she does.
Blessings, friends! --Romeena

along for the ride today as she chose her fun things to do. ha She wanted to see the Mary Poppins Returns movie at our $3 theater down the road a couple of miles; so we went to the matinee. (Watched em change the marque too. ha)
The film was OK, but the original was better IMHO. But these new fangled digital movies are so crystal clear! No more sleeping projectionists. lol
Then we went to Black Angus for dinner for a great surf n turf
for 19.95. No vienna sausages for sure! :) Cecile got a free
hot chocolate chip cookie and ice cream for dessert!
Have any of you used the new 1040 form for your taxes this year? The form is half the size,
but the DIRECTIONS are 250 pages! I worked on mine on Monday and Tuesday. Wow.
Still need to do state.
Speaking of AZ,
my AZ State Univ is in the basketball tourney this year. Kinda cool for our local team
and us fans.
PRAYERS! :)

Good morning everybody.
Happy belated birthday to Cecile MDC. Sounds like she had a nice birthday. Good for you. Did you get her one of those can openers with the umbrella on it? Oh wait, that's probably more a Mothers day gift. How about a bed jacket? But then again, that's probably more of a milestone birthday gift. Maybe a dozen canning jars. Well I'm sure you did right by her. And I hope she got both soup and salad for dinner. :) I saw that A. State was in the big dance. Good on them. I had my taxes done by my accountant already. She (that's right, she, I didn't just fall off the turnip truck) did them while we chatted. They have already been filed, and paid! Bloodsucking Govt.! lol
Romeena, Gosh, you make me blush. Thank you for such a nice compliment. But anything good I have learned to say I learned from you. :) I am not 65 yet, but I will look into that program when I get there.
Boo, As Romeena said, you are such a kind hearted woman, and are always seeking to do what is right. I agree, the Lord has a plan for you and your family. Just stay on course.
GF, I am going to Matt and Staceys house today to replace a light fixture. I went to get my tool bag yesterday out of the garage, and you know what I found? A spider web on it. Can you imagine? A spider web! I am so embarrassed. You read about this happening to other people all the time, but you never think it'll happen to you. sigh
I hope everyone has a great day.

March 22, 2019 - Msg 111913:
Grrrrrr! I wish all I had found in my garage was a spider web, or even a bat. Oh, no! I found the home of a RAT! Yes, a miserable, misbegotten, filthy rat! I have personally been responsible for the demise of two, have inadvertently carried one across town, where he was chased away by a mad mechanic, and have put Orkin on the case, resulting in the trap death of one, and possibly others from the bait they put out. (I hate the baits, but I'm desperate.) And still...
In my garage, there is a spot where a very large trash can stands next to a Craftsman tool cabinet, with an open space about 5" wide between them. I had a big black garbage bag sitting in front of that gap, with about three small kitchen trash bags in it. I went out there this morning to put another kitchen bag in, and realized there was a hole in the bottom of the big bag. I pulled it forward, and saw that the gap behind it was piled high with shredded trash! Yep, a rat had approached it from the bottom, had chewed it open and pulled heaven-knows-what out into that open space and shredded it. It was all fluffy and fixed just right for the babies I'm sure she is about to have! Well, no longer. I swept it up and into another bag, called Orkin, and a man will be here Monday afternoon to set at least six traps in the garage and do whatever it takes to rid my property of the miserable things forever. There are at least five cats around here, who keep my surveillance cameras busy, and me as well, as I answer the notification dings, only to see a long-tailed cat strolling along somewhere outside. I think they're not feral, they appear to be well fed and apparently not interested in a nasty old rat. Wretched things! The rats, not the cats.)
Well, better run. I just heard from my younger daughter, Heather - she's planning to come up from Fredbg tomorrow and stay through Sunday. David and his family are coming for dinner tomorrow night, and to help me get my Christmas tree taken down and put away, so she'll be an extra pair of helping hands. Yes, the tree's still up - no commentary, please. It's pretty and bright, I enjoy it, Toye Starr doesn't care, so why not? Still, since my bunco group is coming on April 5, I guess the time has come. Blessings, friends! --Romeena

Me again. I just received some very distressing news. My neighbors, John and Barbara, are facing a very terrible time. John is the one who owns the garden center where I get all my plants. They live across the street and two houses down, and I've known them for 45 years. Our children grew up together. They bought and are renovating an old "vintage" home down in Corsicana, south of Dallas, and are planning to retire there soon. I just learned that somehow Barbara took a bad fall, causing a head injury, was Care-flighted to a hospital in north Dallas, and is classified as in critical condition. John is distraught, and could only talk for a couple of minutes, so I don't know a lot, but what I do know isn't good. Please pray for healing for Barbara, and strength for John. --Romeena

Yes indeed RO, I will be praying for Barbara. Please let us know how things go.
Not too much news today, but i did get a little smile when Asa mentioned about the tool bag having a spider web on it. But then again, it was a tongue in cheek smile. Asa, you are still needed my friend! :) A year from now you'll be busier than ever, and your 'working years' will see like nothing. ha
BOO--another good one: Greater is He who is in me than he who is in the world! :)
Blessings,
MDC

I am doing much better and feeling the prayers! I woke up this morning and it was like I heard God telling me two things..it was almost like I was dreaming but I was awake. I believe he told me that he is with me and that I should be of good cheer because He has overcome the world. Those two thoughts really brought me out of the blues I was feeling. Thanks to those of you who said that God has a plan for my family. I needed to hear that.
I got to go back to work at Shoreline tonight but sadly, it seems our newest nurse already flew the coup. She was scheduled to work, knew it, and just didn't show, call, or respond to our attempts to contact her. Looks like I will be getting some extra hours again. Administrators tell me that they are hiring 3 new nurses and the new owners will be in the place in a week. Please pray they will make needed changes.
So sorry to hear about your friend, Romeena. Praying for Barbara and John as soon as I sign off.

Good morning all.
Boo, you are sounding a little more chipper in your last post. That makes me smile.
Romeena, Sorry about the rat population in your garage. Have you ever tried those electronic marvels they sell? Might be worth trying just to see. I will certainly pray for Barbara and John. It's scary how quickly life can change, isn't it?
MDC, Glad I could bring you a smile. I have to tell you though, the tool bag prior to retiring was a constant companion. It just seemed odd to see it with cobweb strung on it. But don't the Wheeler seem nice and full. lol
GF, Yea buddy, I will take spiders over bats any day of the week.
Well I hope everyone has a great day.

Good morning, porch! Update on Barbara - it seems there is a lot more to the story. I thought this had just happened, but it actually took place on Wednesday night of last week, and it's a heart-breaking story. Barbara had gone to Corsicana that evening, planning to stay in the house they're working on (they have beds there) so she could meet the delivery men with all the new kitchen appliances early on Thursday morning. At some point, something happened while she was on the front porch. It appears she never got in the house. The first assumption was that she had fallen, but investigation isn't finding anything to confirm that. Her injury is on the back of her head, slightly to the right side, and could be from falling and striking her head on the floor or a door post, but it could also be from being struck with a blunt instrument. Whatever happened, it appears she spent the night (40°) on the porch, as there are bloody handprints everywhere, like she was just feeling her way around. The delivery men found her when they arrived Thursday morning, and called police and an ambulance. John is absolutely a mess, thinking about her there on that porch all night, injured and scared. My heart is breaking for them both. Barbara is still intubated, as she doesn't breathe well on her own. She can speak, but all she says is "Help me" which just breaks John to tears. She can move her legs and arms, and forms those words, so they have pretty much ruled out a stroke and a fall. It's looking more and more like someone hit her. Why? Who knows? This world is a mess.
Well, Heather will be here around 3, so I'd better get busy. Her end of the house is freshened and ready, but my kitchen is definitely not! I'm clean, hair clean, etc., but the kitchen isn't! I hate that!! It's a great kitchen though, and cleans up easily. Lots of storage room, counter space, cleanable surfaces - it won't take long to whip it into shape, and if I don't get it all done before she gets here, well - she'll just pitch in and help me!
Stay warm and dry, folks! Blessings.... --Romeena

Clarification: Barbara obviously doesn't speak when she's intubated, but they did take it out for a while and let her try to fly solo, and she could speak then. The tube is back in now. --Romeena

RO--thank you for the update on Barbara.
That is very strange indeed. Could someone check and see
if anyone nearby has security cameras that may have
picked something up. Just an idea.
My prayers are with her for sure.
I have been intubated and it is no fun!
BOO--Wow, the new nurse did not even show up!
I wonder if she heard something about it?
Hang in there...I know it may seem obscure right now,
but God has a plan.
BILLY Ray, thanks for the video. Needed that! Alway a good one as
baseball hits opening day.
GF--I sure hope your Indians do better than the Cavs have done!
ASA, quick question, when you DVR a show, does it automatically
eliminate the commercials, or do you have to do that manually
when you watch the show?
Good Sabbath to all,
MDC

Good Sabbath all.
My goodness Romeena, that is something else that poor Barbara went through. That is heart breaking. I hope and pray she will recover ok. And that John will be comforted. I hope you have a good visit with Heather and David and family.
Billy, I have always enjoyed that skit. I saw Johnny Carson (pretending to be Pres. Regan) do a version of that years ago.
MDC, That is a good thought about any security cameras. Worth looking into. I wish the DVR eliminated the commercials automatically, bud it doesn't. It has a jump forward button that will skip in 30 second increments. Then another back button that goes back in 10 second increments. Mine are well used. Have you got anything growing in your new raised beds yet?
Boo, I was chatting with my former manager the other day and he was telling me they are down 6 people in the department. They are really having a hard time finding new hires. That really surprises me because it is a solid company, offers good pay and excellent benefits. But they are looking to hire Journeymen level technicians and with a 3% unemployment rate here right now, there just isn't many available. He said twice they have hired someone, only to have them not show up either. I hope they can get you some help.
I have become so engrossed in watching documentaries about the space race of the 60's and 70's. It is so amazing what they were able to do with the technology they had at the time. Just fascinating stuff I must say.
Well I pray a safe and delightful Sabbath day for you all.
