Goober-Fife, your very first post here was May 14, 2011 - Msg 83975.
John Masters and Goober-Fife, although I grew up watching many westerns including The Rifleman, as an adult, I no longer have an interest in watching them. However, I love listening to the theme song of The Rifleman, especially the longer version during the closing credits. You can listen to it at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hkM0NT4YMlo.
Because I am a former professional musician, I also enjoyed viewing a five part interview with the composer of that music over at YouTube. You can search for it by using his name (Herschel Burke Gilbert) as a search phrase. He talks about composing the music for The Rifleman in part 3 of 5.
Herschel Burke Gilbert also wrote another theme song that I enjoy listing to. It's the theme to Burke's Law. You can view/listen to it at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MWffko5T_xo

JOHN- I was referring to the number of shots at the beginning of the show...has always been a controversy that the gun only held 10 rounds, but we hear 11 shots, as they dubbed one more in for some reason. Just another one of those trivial trivialities that I bet PH could solve.
A little rain coming this way too Maudie.

We're opposites then, Poor Horatio. As a child, I didn't like watching the westerns that my dad was always watching. But now, I've grown to really appreciate and enjoy them, including The Rifleman, Bonanza, . I also like a lot of western movies now as well.
In fact, back then I didn't even like - and I hope this doesn't get me banished from the Front Porch - The Andy Griffith Show. Gasp!!! But to me it was just too "talky". Not enough lasers.
Well, the wife is off in Minnesota for 3 days for more training. So it is just the kids and me until Friday evening. I'll try to survive without calling Clara Edwards over to clean up. ;)

Sterling, I'm the opposite...liked the westerns as a child, don't like them now. Wish I could get into Bonanza because its on all the time. My local Cable provider dropped several of our channels this week...something about Viacom raising their prices. One of the channels we lost was TVLand, so if I watch TAGS it will have to be on DVD. I hardly watch television anyways so it doesn't really matter, I guess. I was getting really fed up with TVLand and all its commercials, anyway.
Erin is up early getting ready for school..today is picture day so I guess she wants to take extra time.

Been a bit snowy here the last couple of days. Nothing to bad. And we sure need the moisture. So all in all it's been good. Got me off the roof for a spell. Be back up there next week getting things ready for summer.

Boy is it WET here on my end of the porch! T-storms, rains, rumblers, more rain! We need those big ponchos that Andy and Barney wear! And MORE active weather is coming today!
PH - That's funny. I am the opposite like Sterling. Shows that were on when I was a kid and early adult, I didnt care about. Now, that I am older, I go "Yeah, now I see what the fuss is about. I see why I SHOULD'VE watched that when it was on!" Did you know Johnny Crawford (Mark) grew up to be a musician and now has his own small orchestra! You can find him and his band on YouTube
MDC - Ohhh, I didnt even think of that. Now that you bring it up, I am curious myself.
Sterling - And make sure Goober doesnt stay over either! or you'll be up to your ears in Oregano!
Anyone notice how TVLand feels about the color TAGS? They played the B&W episodes almost all the way up to the color episodes and brought it right back around to the beginning.

Boo, don't forget that you can watch certain episodes of TVLand online at http://www.tvland.com/full-episodes where I think they change what is viewable each week.
You can also search for Andy Griffith show episodes over at YouTube. There is a person named Brian Ladd who loaded complete Andy Griffith Show episodes without any ads. There is a trick to search for these episodes. He misspelled the word "episode". So when you search for them at YouTube, use type "andy griffith full epsoide" without the quotation marks.
Asa, you mentioned that you are considering dumping your satellite service. In my case, I have a cable service. However, I just ordered a high gain VHF/UHF HDTV antenna. I will test it near Chicago and here near Toronto to see just how much FREE TV I can receive. Then I might get rid of my expensive cable service where I am forced to pay for channels I don't watch.

Poor Horatio, do the episodes online have as many commercials as they do on the tv? Can't stand TVLand, but love TAGS, of course.
Have you ever considered making your own HD antenna, PH? I made one and can pull in about 12 stations, 10 really come in good and the other two depend on weather or something, but sometimes they pixelate a lot. I know it may not seem like many, but combined with our Roku box, I think we may finally be able to get rid of cable and the hundreds of channels that we never watch and don't need to be paying for. And quite of the channels are in HD, which we don't have on our current cable lineup. I think in bigger cities you may be able to pull in even more channels. I live in a pretty small town with no big cities nearby so that could account for my relatively low number of channels.
The tutorial I used for making one of the antennas was on Youtube. Just search for a guy named babblin5. There may be more recent tutorials, and possibly improvements, on making these types of things, but I know for certain that this one works, so that is all I can recommend at this time.
You may even be able to return your boughten antenna and get a refund if these work for you. It cost me about $7 bucks to make mine.

Yes, thank you PH...I will have to sneak Erin's tablet and watch some in bed at night. I don't have a tv in my bedroom because I try to keep my bedroom designated for sleep. I have my routine..shower..a good book...sometimes a little Melatonin, and I am out like a light. It might be fun to watch a little television in bed, though sometimes. I think it was Hazel who used to say she liked to watch a little TAGS on DVD before bed because it relaxed her.
Well, Asa, sure hope you have a relaxing 3 day weekend. Wish we could all go up to O'Malley's cabin on the lake for some boating and fishing. Maude might even drop by for some dancing. Asa, you bring the squeezins'. Possum can make the hamburgers.
We had a nice dinner last night for Sean's birthday. I ordered the beef tenderloin and it was ok, but I was disappointed with the texture of the meat. Usually tenderloin is so tender and flavorful, but this meat was a little stringy and not seasoned enough. Oh well. Sean really enjoyed his meal with his family and friends so it was a good evening.
Better go fold the towels and put the sheets in the dryer...

Sterling Holobyte, I did mention in my Msg 97342 that the TAGS episodes that Brian Ladd posted over at YouTube do not have any ads in them. That means no commercials or those annoying banners that YouTube superimposes over most of their videos. That is what I like about his videos.
Regarding your comment about antennas, I have watched a few videos at YouTube about making your own HDTV antenna. And while I may try building one, I will have a professional store bought one to compare it with. With a 30 day return period, if my homemade version turns out better or just as good, I can return the store bought one.

Good morning, porch! I'm rightchere, thanks for asking. Just been busy. Joe and Jorge came yesterday, and we (mostly they) planted five flats of petunias, two flats of impatiens, potted up a beautiful clump of "black" petunias (really purple but so dark they appear black until you look closely), planted 25 gladiola bulbs, five sweet potato vines, and cleaned out the drainage trench along the foundation in front of the house (the one that had become clogged and led to the water getting into the house). The weather was nice - cloudy but still pleasant - and we got so much done. The yard is fully awake now, and things are popping everywhere. There must be at least fifty iris buds just in my field of view from the window. The clump of red iris out front has at least fifteen buds and more will come. Looks like it might be a good year for iris.
The ARC of Texas pickup people are due here this morning. I dragged six huge, heavy bags of clothing to the utility room door. I can't lift them, so that's as far as I got. I put the ARC's placard on the garage door, with a note to ring the doorbell. I'll open the garage for them, and they can come through to the door to the house and get the bags. I can't get them outside. They contain clothing and shoes that have been in my closets for an embarrassing period of time. All that stuff should have been donated years ago, so someone could get some good out of it, but I kept kidding myself that I'd wear it again. Some of it is four sizes back. I'll wear it again when donkeys fly. Fortunately, I've never been a trendy dresser, so none of it really looks dated. I'm so glad my Heather got in there and jump-started me on getting this done. Now I can actually see what's in my closet and can find the things I do wear, and some women who need them will have clothes. It's a win-win all around.
Well, I'd better get dressed. I can't let the ARC people in, when I'm still in my nightgown! Blessings, folks! --Romeena

A Good Morning to Everyone!
Well, been a might stressful on my part of the porch. Turns out the people we had our horse, Dakota set up with to take her tried to chisel us financially. Wife went out to meet them and told them what we can afford, what we cant and how we would work with them in caring for her. They had a great talk, EVERY....and I stress EVERYthing was agreed to and then.....she texts my wife yesterday saying things will cost way more PLUS they need more hay than agreed on! Needless to say, the wife and I were livid! So, that went out the window and we quickly have ANOTHER couple who will take her. BUT....now the woman that is currently holding Dakota called our advisor and complained that were taking too long to find Dakota a home and she thinks she needs to giver away to someone else who can find her a place to go!
Are you gettin' all this, folks??
When we first got Dakota, we had a place lined up and THAT person backed out because hse says their were predators killing her horses. So it has been downhill ever since! We THINK the current agreement will work out finally. But we feel very betrayed and angry because the woman holding Dakota right now didnt have the decency to call US and used our advisor as the middle man. Sorry so long folks, but that's really what happened. We have had THREE different people / couples back out on us in a MONTH and we're getting blamed!
With that, I wish you guys a great and happy Friday and hope you all have a good day! You might rub a rabbit's foot, say an incant and rub the head of a red headed man so THIS arrangement doesnt fall through. See you later on!

I'd like to jump in in the Andy'd girlfriend convo. I adore Miss Eleanor Walker! Some of y'all may recall I wanted to use her as my handle here (I don't like what I settled with but she was the only other dark haired young lady that I could think of). In an interview with Eleanor Donahue she said she wished she had not left TAGS, but she was tired as she had just left Father Knows Best right before joining TAGS. Peggy was nice too, but I personally wasn't a fan of her "higher the hair closet to heaven" thing she had going on. Helen was a child, emotionally. I like the fact that she was firm with her students, but she acted like them when it came to her relationship with Andy.
Well, I need to get this house in order. It's Bryan's birthday and all he asks for is a spotless house. Y'all have a blessed day!

If you havent, you might give it a whirl! Kinda neat.
I forgot to tell you all that I did see the movie, "NOAH", out of sheer curiousity and I'll be straight forward....it is an abomination! That thing was about as FAR from the Bible as you can get. If you, family, friends or acquaintances are thinking about it, DON'T! My father-in-law hated it so much, he was telling people going into the theater, as we went back to the car, "If you're going to see Noah, don't!" The people we were in the theater with left with smiles and giggling and making comments like "What was that?" and "Uh...Ok?!" It was simply terrible. No, I take that back. It was a pretty good movie if you take it for pure fiction!
Ok, y'all have a good rest of the day!

Good morning, porch. It's 52° here, and very cloudy. If it doesn't rain today, it's going to miss a very good chance. I surely wish it would. I'm thinking something may be on the way. Birds are scarce, and I've only seen one squirrel. They all seem to be remaining sheltered somewhere. This little cool spell will allow the tender stuff I just planted to take hold and get established before the heat returns, and some rain would just be the crowning touch.
John Masters, I sure wish I could take Dakota for you. I'd rent a trailer and come get her, but I don't much think the city of Irving would look too favorably on me keeping a horse in my back yard. That's a shame, that people are so fickle and are not living up to agreements they've made with you.
Well, I had convinced myself that I'd go on and see "Noah", but now I'm rethinking that idea. I'm hearing more negative than positive, from all sides, and I just don't think I'm going to spend the money on it. It's gotten so it's a major investment just to go to a movie these days, so I think I'll pass.
Incidentally - just a random thought - several years ago a story made the rounds on email that was very touching. Here's a link: http://www.truthorfiction.com/rumors/s/smellofrain.htm#.U0AZoRFOWdo Be sure to scroll through the Truth or Fiction report and read the story, shown as it was circulated in email attachments.
This story touches my heart every time I think of it, because I know it's absolutely true. Every word. The Blessing family were members of my church at the time, and the ballpark mentioned in the story is the little ball diamond group located in the Trinity River bottom area, about a mile and a half from my house. We were not closely acquainted with the Blessings (it's a big church) but we knew who they were. They were younger than we were, and in a different Sunday School department. Well, OK. That's a freebie. Don't know why it came to mind today, other than the fact that I'm sitting here hoping for rain.
Have a great day, everyone. --Romeena

Romeena, that story about the Blessing family was an emotional one to read about. I can understand why some might call it a miracle. As for me, why their child was "blessed" when others aren't so fortunate, that is a mystery I can't explain. According to the National Institutes of Health, 1 out of every 33 babies in the United States is born with a birth defect. How sad that innocent babies have to suffer. It is one of the reasons why I don't have children of my own.

Good afternoon, porch. No, Howie Fice, I haven't baked that cake yet. It may be that I'll wait until the first of May to bake it, for my bunco group. May is my turn to host the group, and I think they'd enjoy it. I'll have something else in reserve, maybe root beer floats or something, just in case. Or - I may decide to try it in the next few days. I can always bake another one for the bunco gals. Sure is an interesting recipe.
PH, I don't think anyone can explain the mystery. Some things I guess we're just not supposed to understand on this earth. However, I can't resist mentioning that if it's true that 1 out of every 33 babies is born with a birth defect, then it is also true that 32 out of every 33 babies are born free of defects. I would like to know what the NIH's definition of "defect" includes. How broad is that definition? Certainly the obvious things, like cleft palate, microcephaly, the various trisomy variations, but did they also include the little girl with a dime-sized hemangioma on her head, that looks like a little wad of pink bubblegum, and will be covered by her hair later on? Or a little boy with crossed eyes, which can be surgically remedied? Statistics can be misleading. Also, I have known children, and adults, who were born with very definite physical variations (I don't like the term "defects" but our language offers very few alternatives). I have chosen "variations." Some, of course, are tragic and have many consequences. Others are just, well, they're just part of who the person is. One of my favorite people is a high-functioning Down syndrome person. I have a cousin who was born with cerebral palsy. He walks with a pronounced limp, sort of dragging one foot, and he carries his left arm as though it were in a sling, but it isn't. His speech is a little halting at times, but he's very intelligent and creative, had a successful career in administration for the DMV in Houston, and is happily married. His condition was due to an injury at birth, it wasn't genetic. His mother went into eclampsia during delivery and he was injured during her seizures. She did not survive, and he was raised by his grandmother.
Genetic or otherwise, the birth of a child can be like a roll of the dice, but fortunately, at least 32 out of 33 times, the outcome is a happy one. I had five pregnancies, the last one ended in miscarriage. The first four were uneventful, I felt wonderful, and had easy deliveries. Technically, my first one, my oldest son, had a "birth defect." He had a skeletal deformity of his chest - pectus excavatum. It was relatively mild, and when he was five, it was surgically corrected. It healed nicely, and other than a four inch scar on his chest, he has no noticeable evidence that there was ever a problem.
The decision to have or not have children is a very personal one, and not subject to the opinions of anyone but the individual involved. It's usually based on a number of factors, and I'm sure that's true of your own decision. The only opinion I hold on the subject is simple. If a person, in their own heart, feels they don't want to have children, then they should not. To each his or her own.

Is he coaching within the organization or jus enjoying retirement? I always like his style of play even tho around here we don't see the Braves much, I liked to watch when I could.....G-F

Hello Porch: I just seen Dr. Harrison Everett Breen on a half hour episode of Batman. He played a prison warden. I have to confess, I have no problem watching 4 plus hours of TAGS everyday. (I know, I have a problem.) While watching other shows besides TAGS I always seem to notice the actors who were also in TAGS. They seem to stand out immediately. I never usually noticed this until I started over dosing on TAGS. Howie Fice

Whoohooo! It's raining on my porch! I just got up, didn't know it had rained last night, and it did. It's not raining at this moment, but looks like it will any minute. However, it rained during the night, because when I looked out my window, everything is WET! I don't know how much it rained, but I know we got some, and maybe we'll get more! Thank you, Lord!! And now, I'm off to preaching. Blessings, everyone. --Romeena

Romeena, April showers brings May flowers, except in Texas they already have flowers!.. Unlike in Ohio we still have a brown tint to everything. But... Today we are to have sun ALL day! As Romeena says: Whoohooo but its' only getting to the 50's tho, I'll take it, at least it's NOT snow!
JM, I see your Royals did ok yesterday, unlike the Indians who lost their game, that's ok they have a lot more to play, I'm being being optimistic, they seem to have a good energy level this year, hope it stays up thru the whole season.

SPOT, the last time we drove to Disney World in Florida, we stopped overnight in Chattanooga Tennessee and stayed at the Chattanooga Choo Choo Hotel. For those not familiar with it, that hotel offers both regular hotel rooms as well as converted railroad Pullman sleeping cars. Since we were raised in a railroad family, it was a natural choice for us. Our only complaint was that since it was the winter season, we had difficulty obtaining enough heat in the car. However, it was not bad enough for us to request a transfer to a regular room.

Rain! We got rain! It rained during services this morning, and on the way to lunch, we had a regular frog-strangler for a few minutes. Then it has rained gently off and on all day. I love it! The temp has hovered around 50°, and I'm liking that, too. It's chilly, but it's slowing down the above-ground growth of my newly-planted petunias and impatiens. Meantime, they're getting a root system established, so when it warms up again, they won't be so likely to faint and fall over. Also, it's slowing the development of the sea of iris buds - many dozens of them - so they won't be all bloomed out by May 2, when my bunco group meets here. A short cool time like this in the spring does wonders, just so long as it doesn't freeze. That's not likely here, but it has happened. I remember years ago, we had a light snowfall in the middle of April. Kids were out making little foot-tall snowmen on their driveways!
Well, guess I'll go finish off some tuna salad I made last night. It's good, especially on a good nut-and-whole grain bread, which I always buy. Blessings, friends. Sleep tight! --Romeena

Romeena, speaking as an amateur musician and former professional musician, I call some of the music today a "train wreck" because that is exactly what it sounds like to me.
Regarding the video link I posted in Msg 97383, the Nicholas Brothers were a very skilled dance team because of the daring acrobatics included in their performances. Even the legendary dancer Fred Astaire claimed that one of their performances was "the greatest dance number ever filmed".
And now for an encore performance with Tex Beneke, the Glenn Miller Orchestra, and the Nicholas Brothers ... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WQQfK8Bqkw0

Good stuff PH. "It don't mean a thing if it aint got that swing." :)
I showed "The Glenn Miller Story" starring Jimmy Stewart at my dad's group home a few weeks ago, and
all 10 residents sat thru the whole thing!
They try to show modern stuff like Madagascar, and
they all walk away, so I said to the owner maybe its WHAT you show. I have DVDs of Welk, the crooners like Dean martin, etc and they sit thru them just fine!
Romaeena--glad you got the rain. You were really hoping for it. Did the race get rained out?
I hope you all had a good Sunday.
Prayers,

MDC, I also have seen The Glenn Miller Story multiple times. I have only one complaint about that movie; they make no mention of Tex Beneke. Not only was he one of Glenn Miller's talented saxophone musicians, he also sang the lead on a some of their best selling recordings including Chattanooga Choo Choo, I've Got A Gal In Kalamazoo, and Don't Sit Under The Apple Tree. Also, Tex shared the driving of Glenn Miller's car when the band traveled. And Tex took over the orchestra after Glenn Miller went missing in action during World War 2.
Since your audience enjoyed The Glenn Miller Story, I believe they would also love two other movies that the Glenn Miller orchestra appeared in. They include Sun Valley Serenade (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3ucP6y8p17w) and Orchestra Wives (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NQqz-NMMIxQ)
You can find more Lawrence Welk show videos at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC40EAG2ClDsoYL7ItafuI3g
Also, a couple of other movie suggestions include:
Shirley Temple movies (feel good movies)
Laurel and Hardy movies (clean humor movies)
Check with your local library. If they don't have them, they might be able to obtain them through an inter-library loan. Ask the reference librarian.

Thanks, PH, that's really good stuff. Those dancers are amazing. It must be wonderful to be as flexible as they are. Their legs are like rubber - I could swear their knees bend laterally as well as the normal way. And those splits they do - mercy! The dropping into the split is amazing enough, but just watch them stand up. They just pop back up, like there was a string pulling them up. Really something.
Yep, MDC, we got some good rain, and I'm grateful for it. As for the race, I have to admit I have no idea whether it went on or not, but I doubt it. I'm not a racing fan, don't follow it, and today was no exception. I knew there was one scheduled, but I don't know if it happened or not.
Well, it's late. I'd better get to bed. Y'all have a good night. --Romeena

Oh, I have to add this. Watching that orchestra perform, it occurred to me once again that a trombone must be very difficult to play. I think all the horns would be hard, but they all have keys, so you have precise control over what note is being played. With a trombone, if I understand the mechanics of it correctly, you don't have that. Instead, you have the slide, and you just have to "feel" the proper position for that slide to achieve any given note. It's all by touch, and that can be difficult, I would think. Since the extent of my musical expression is a little very untaught plinking on the piano, I don't know much about any of it, but at least it looks to me like a trombone would be very hard. --Romeena

PH,MDC,Romeena, All the talk about the good old days of music, film & stage, and we wake up to the news of Mickey Rooney's passing.. Another legend gone, but he left us with a lot of memories of his work.

SPOT, I don't know if they got the race off in Texas yesterday or not I'll have to check after posting.

Good Morning, Porchsters! Good to see you again!
Well, the Dakota drama is over! *whew* She is now in a new home and seems quite happy as she has cows in an adjoining field that come over to her to say Hi and visit. And she has LOTS more room here than where she just came from. The people that have her now have opened their hearts to her and the wife and I. Needless to say...it's about time to relax! THANK YOU for all of the sentiment, offers and well wishes you gave us!
Howie - You dont have an addiction, you have an appreciation. I can watch TAGS back to back to back........well, you get the idea! I noticed "The Rifleman" sure had a huge TAGS connection! Clara, Mayor Stoner, actor Dabbs Greer (and his numerous TAGS characters), Jim Lindsey to name a few!
G-F - Doggone, them Royals!!! Here we go again! Our third baseman, Mike Moustakas is ice cold to start THIS season, the bullpen has decided to crack and crumble, this upstart and dangerous offense (that everyone was so excited about) has YET to show up! Meanwhile, the Tigers are 4-1! I am getting SOOOOOO tired of my two Kansas City teams. EVERYTHING is "rebuild" and "patience" and letting players "grow." I'm just sick. No, not that kind of sick. I'm just sick!
PH - Those Pullman rooms sound pretty cool! Might have to try that someday! The Nicholas Brothers performance you refer to that Astaire was so big on was their dance at the end of the film, "Stormy Weather" with Bill "Bojangles" Robinson and Lena Horne. I have seen it and it has to be seen to be believed!! It's jaw dropping!
Mickey Rooney was an icon and legend and we dont have many left. I shudder to think that. Don Rickles, Jerry Lewis, Tony Bennett, etc. I have been watching the "Carson on TCM" clips and it almost brings a tear to the eye. It's hard to believe still that all of that is all gone. And Johnny's Studio 1 in Burbank, CA is now just a plain ol' studio and NBC itself, moved out of that building and went down the street to Universal Studios. Hard to believe the stars and power and fun that used to happen in that "plain" studio now. I'm like Barney too. I dont like change even though life has to move on.
Better git. You all have a great and healthy day!

JM, I'm with ya on getting tired of all of the "patience" "rebuild" & "grow" concepts too. Remember I root for the Indians & Browns... But I ain't talking BAD about them anymore, cause TOM will send me back to "The Big House" if I do. So I ain't sayin' ain't anymore or talkin bad of the Indians straight and narrow for G-F! I kinda like a peanut butter sammich with dill pickles on fresh white bread now and then....G-F

G-F - Oh, I'm so sorry. My condolances for being a Browns fan. LOL! It seems like the new administration has good intention. They just cant seem to put it together though. The Indians are definitely on an upswing. Terry Francona has pointed them in good directions and they may competetive for awhile!
I've really had it with the Chiefs. We let Denver sign everyone in free agency and did N-O-T-H-I-N-G! We have had like nine head coaches, four general managers and several philosophies since they were champs in '69. Tired, tired, tired.
Hope y'all have a good lunch. Run by a SONIC if ya' can. Creme slushes on me!

Good morning, porch. I'm sorry to hear of Mickey Rooney's passing. He was an American icon. He wasn't the glamorous leading man type, but that didn't seem to matter to eight beautiful women. He did have a charm and a charisma that was hard to define. I was privileged to see him perform in a dinner theater venue here in Dallas many years ago. The play was "Three Goats and a Blanket", and it was absolutely hilarious - because of him. With anyone else playing the leading role, it would have been funny, I guess, but nowhere near as funny as it was with him in the part. You can find information about it through Google. There's one scene I'll never forget. It would help if you knew the whole story, but the scene was of Mickey, standing in the middle of his ex-wife's living room (where he was living), wearing just a t-shirt and a pair of boxer shorts. The shorts, of course, hung down to below his knees, since his legs were so short. He's standing there in those droopy shorts, doing a slow "take" for the audience, as the lights dimmed out and closed the scene. Funny, funny stuff. He will be missed. An era is ending, folks, and I'm something less than thrilled with what we're left with now. Good movies are few and far between, and TV is mostly garbage. I shudder to think what's going into the minds of our children. Remember the old adage - "Garbage in, garbage out." I know, of course, that Mickey himself was something of a scoundrel, but at least the stuff he put on film, and did on stage, was clean, entertaining, and you could watch it with your kids and your grandmother.
Hey, G-F. You like peanut butter and pickles too? So do I, but I like sweet pickles better than dill. Sliced cheddar cheese and sweet pickles make a good sammich, too. Maybe I just like pickles! And yes, gotta be on fresh white bread. I love the whole-grain breads, with the nuts and seeds and all, but for PBJs or cheese and pickles, or bologna, it's got to be fresh, white bread.
Well, speaking of lunch --- blessings, friends! --Romeena
