November 24, 2012 - Msg 91231: Hope Ro is enjoying her day with the family.

Please pray fro Sean. He to be having the same kind of stomach trouble he had months ago when we ended up in the ER twice with him. I think it has to do with nerves and anxiety and he wakes up sick every morning, starts dreading that he will get sicker and back in the same shape he was and it is just a cycle of anxiety. He is continuing to lose weight and eat very little. Today he had a sandwich and about a half a cup of vegetable soup I had to coax down him. I think part of his problem is that he is obsessing over this Mayan prediction about the world ending this month. I try to talk to him, but it doesn't seem to help.

I was trying to do some decorating today but my heart just isn't in it right now. Maybe tomorrow it will be.

Boo, Sorry to hear about Sean, that anxiety is so much connected with health problems it reaks havoc on the body. I think God is wiser than the Myans only He knows when the "roll call" is.

November 25, 2012 - Msg 91234: Right..and I would certainly rather believe the Holy Bible than a prophecy from a pagan civilization of people with such brutal practices as human sacrifice. Sean knows that, too, but part of the anxiety disorder he has, makes it hard for him to get rid of anxiety, even when there is no real basis for it.

I am so tired tonight and I should have been in bed already. Preachin' tomorrow! :)

November 25, 2012 - Msg 91235: Good Sabbath all.

Boo, prayers for Sean. Bless his heart.

My oldest Daughter, Sarah, brought us over a small turkey she cooked for us, with all the fixins. She said "I know how you like the leftovers daddy, so enjoy." Bless her heart. One of the greastest blessing in life is having your young-uns grow up and want to tend to your needs as you get older. I hope my saying that doesn't upset anyone who has adult children that they don't have a close relationship with. I have a son who has fit into that category for a few years. He has struggled mightily in transitioning from adolescence to adulthood, and after trying and trying to help him, we finally determined our efforts were creating more hinderance than help, so we had to "cut the cord" so to speak, and let him find his own way in the world. It was tough for him and for us, especially my wife, but he is finally starting to come around..... I hope. He has done and said a lot that has damaged our relationship, but like the prodigal son, he will be welcomed back when he is ready to act like he's got some smarts. eeing signs of that, and are very hopeful. So never give up hope if any are struggling with that problem.

Well sorry for the book. I guess I'm always bragging on my Daughters and didn't want you all thinking that I'm thinking I'm a perfect parent. I wasn't, and stil am not, but I try, and keep on trying to do the right thing. That's all we can do.

Prayers for all on the porch.

November 25, 2012 - Msg 91239: Good afternoon, porch! Would you believe I just got up? Yep, slept until 12:30, missed preachin' and everything! I have had a long and tiring, though wonderful, weekend. Friday I was on my feet all day and far into the night, yesterday I was up at 7 and busy cooking, the family arrived at 1, and left last night after 1 a.m. When I finally hit that bed, I practically entered a coma, and didn't move until just a little while ago. I am literally sore all over, like I'd been doing hard exercises. I had pushed myself until my muscles were that tired, I guess. I'm glad to know I can do it, though. Even a few weeks ago, I could not have done what I did this weekend.

Boo, I'm so sorry that Sean has such a hard time with that anxiety thing. It's such a baffling condition. I've had patients who suffer from it, and it's just so hard to understand. There is absolutely no basis for their fears, but there they sit, wringing their hands and crying at times, and cannot tell you why. It's a chemical thing, and they're powerless to fight it. Telling them to "trust everything to God" doesn't help much, it just adds a layer of guilt to what they're already experiencing. Their heart wants to do exactly that, but their body chemistry is in control. Prayers for Sean, bless his heart.

Asa, prayers for you too, my friend, in your relationship with your son. I think you did exactly the right thing, after trying everything else, to just cut the ties and let him work through it for himself. When trying to break from parental control (a normal part of the maturing process) is part of his problem, sometimes you have to help by breaking it from your side. Many years ago, my brother, who is a good and gentle soul, was on the wrong path. My parents were distraught, and talked with our pastor, who wisely advised them to step back and let him go. As he said, "Let him hit bottom. From there, there's nowhere to go but up." My mom was worried that he might just stay there, at the bottom. Wise pastor reminded them that they had brought my brother up right, and reminded them of the scripture about training up a child, etc. They just clung to that, and sure enough, about a year later, he showed up one day, clean-cut and smiling, and we had my brother back. So hang in there, Asa. You raised that boy right, and he'll come around eventually.

What you said about what a blessing children can be is so true. I'm grateful that I can say that all my kids are respectful and good to me. You'll remember that my daughters came up and stayed with me after my back surgeries - I couldn't have made it without them. My oldest is in Florida, and I don't see him as much as the others, but he always stands ready if I need him. My David is here, and is always looking after me. He'll be coming over in a few days to put my Christmas lights up, and to drag my tree out and get it set up for me, so I can decorate it. Last night, he did several little chores around here that involved lifting things I can't lift. He always checks to see if there are any lightbulbs that need to be replaced, and I am under strict instructions not to climb up and do any of that myself.

I just watched a Hallmark movie, "Naughty or Nice" and it was really cute. Fantasy stuff, of course, with Santa and magic books, but it made some good points as well. I really enjoy the Hallmark movies. I think my favorite is "The Most Wonderful Time of the Year'.

Well, off I go. Have a great rest-of-the-day, everyone. --Romeena

November 25, 2012 - Msg 91240: It does my heart good to hear you parents talking about how your children bless you. I hope and pray mine will be a help later. Sean is a big help to me now and is such a devoted son but he just needs alot of support with what is going on with him. Ro, you described it well. He is doing better today and eating more. Folks at church this morning were remarking on his weight loss, which only fuels his anxiety. He worries about how fast he is losing but I told him that there is nothing wrong but the anxiety, which is messing with his stomach. The time to worry is when you are losing weight and there is no apparent reason for it. Ro, thanks for those kind and understanding words, and thanks to those of you who have prayed. I am very thankful for those prayers.

Well, we have been trying to get the christmas decorating done and it is so funny because Sean and I decorate for 15 minutes, then sit down for awhile, then make remarks about how we have to get up and do some more...and it just keeps repeating itself. It looks pretty as it is getting done and I'm sure we will enjoy it but it is kind of like eating lots of chocolate everyday for a month...it gets kind of old. I think that the way everyone starts focusing on Christmas so early, kind of makes it less special than it used to be. When i was growing up, there wasn't much thought of Christmas until about 2 weeks before. You didn't see houses decorated or trees up as early as you do now. I think the reason is because everyone is so rushed and busy during the holiday season. I know that with us, we try to get it all done the week after Thanksgiving to get it out of the way so we can begin the flurry of endless activity that will last until December 26th! Crazy. I am having part of the deacon christmas party here this year but that is all I have planned for the month. I plan on getting more involved with helping with our organization that helps needy children and serving..that's where I find my Christmas spirit and joy. Tomorrow begins the application process in which families come in to fill out an application to receive toys for their kids. My sister asked me to fill out applications this year because she likes the way I interact with people. I was humbled by her request, but she has to be careful because some volunteers are not very kind to people who need help. That's just the way it is, sad to say.

Asa, thank you for sharing with us about your son. I will pray for him.

Well, better get back at some of the decorating...bah humbug... ;)

Boo

PS-I watched that Naughty or Nice movie yesterday and was pleasantly surprised by it. It wasn't you typical sappy Christmas movie.

REV, I'll bet it's fun to do a hometown concert now and then. I'll bet you enjoy it as much as the audience does. Oh - three people have come up to me at church and asked if you'll be back next year. When I say you will, they are happy to hear it.

Boo, I watched that "Naughty or Nice" movie too, and like you, I was pleasantly surprised. It wasn't what I expected, and I thought it was well done.

Well, got to get a move on, get PT out of the way, then get started on the decorating. I'm just going to take my time, and not kill myself doing it. If it takes all week, it's okay. That's why I want to start now. There are pretty definite plans for both my daughters and their families to come from Fredericksburg the weekend of the 8th, and I want everything done by then. When little four-year-old Trip gets out of the car on the driveway, I want his eyes to be as big as saucers, and they will be. David will have all the outside lights up by the end of this week, and then when Trip walks in the house, I want him to be greeted by a big old pretty tree. Heather says he's already talking about "Nonny's Christmas house." How sweet is that!

OK, PT here I come! Blessings, all. --Romeena

She is 81 and lives alone so I always call to check on her. She said she was not feeling well, said her BP was way up and she felt sick to her stomach. Because of her age and past bypass surgery, I left work immediately drove to her house and then to the ER. They did blood work an EKG and a electrocardiogram and ran a urine analysis. Turns out she has a UTI. They gave her a prescription an sent us on our way about 5 1/2 hours later. I came by work to check messages and such and wanted to drop in for a minute.

Hope all is well.

Big Maude, I echo Boo's prayers for your mom to get better soon. Those UTI's seem to plauge the elderly. My Dad dealt with them the last years of his life.

Possum, you making a killing in tips this time of year, ain't ya?

Hope you did ok with the PT today Ro.

Boo, how's Sean doing today? Better I hope.

G-F, Did you hear about the HVAC guys in California who was replacing some duct work in a house and found $300,000 in gold dust packed in bottles? Holy Hannah. And they turned it all over to the home owner. Good for them. I hope they got some kind reward. Makes a feller wanna go into the duct cleaning business.

Rev, nice to see old friends. He must have gotten older if you almost didn't recognise him. Good thing you don't look any older :)

Rev, Spot, I'm mad Suh from Dee-troit didn't get suspended. I just hate to see that kind of frequent cheap shot garbage going on in the NFL. Looks like maybe a Falcons- 49er's championship game in January. What city will it be in?

November 27, 2012 - Msg 91257: Good morning, porch! Well, I have my work cut out for me! I said David would be coming by later in the week to get my tree out and set up. He was going out of town working, so I didn't expect him until Friday. Imagine my surprise when I got home from PT yesterday and there stood that big old tree. He had to go to Dallas for some supplies before leaving town, which took him through Irving, so he just stopped by and did it. Moved the furniture and everything! Bless his little heart!

However, I took a look at the top section of the tree, which is separate, and realized that there's a whole string of lights out. The bulbs are all blackened, so the string itself is bad. Nothing to do but pull it off and replace it, which will be no fun. That top section is so dense and the wires are wrapped in there so closely. What a mess! Also, I don't know what shape the rest of it is in, but I think I remember from last year that there was at least one string out. Why can't they make these things to last? This tree is only about three years old, maybe four. Oh well. It has to be done, and I'll enjoy it once it's finished.

Today was the day that my income tax refund was supposed to be in my account, and it's not there. I suppose it could come in later in the day, but usually, direct-deposit things show up shortly after midnight, at the start of the day they're due. Guess I'll call the CPA and sic him on that little problem.

It's chilly here this morning, at 43°, and the squirrels are out in force. The yard is littered with leaves, and they're romping in them like children. They're enjoying the big pile of goodies I put out for them, too. Some dry bread, some old shelled pecans and walnuts - fairly stale, but the squirrels don't seem to mind. I chopped up a slightly shriveled apple, and put out some sad little grapes, and the squirrels are all but rolling in their new-found bounty! So cute! I really do enjoy the little fellers.

Eloise came over yesterday and we made a centerpiece for the table she's decorating for the Women's Christmas Dinner at church next week. Women volunteer to be responsible for decorating a table, providing dishes and silverware, etc. We got some very pretty, soft, pine-needle garland and wrapped it around a straw circle, which made a beautiful, fluffy wreath. It turned out so nice. I have four big plastic bins full of decorative goodies, gleaned from places like Hobby Lobby over the years, at the after-Christmas sales. You can get such great stuff, for about 10 cents on the dollar. I could make fifteen huge wreaths and not make a dent in what I've got. I love to do things like that, and I like having the makings on hand.

Well, guess I'll go attack that tree. Why, oh why, couldn't it just all work? I'd have it up and decorated by bedtime tonight, if I didn't have to mess with those stinkin' lights! However, I know from experience that I may very well spend this livelong day doing exactly that - messing with those stinkin' lights!! Argghhh!

Blessings! --Romeena

Busy day today. I'll check back later.

Boo

November 28, 2012 - Msg 91268: Good morning, porch! Warm milk? Yech, indeed. Cold milk? Also yech! I just don't drink milk, can't stand it. My mother was not the same way, though. Now here's the clincher. I love buttermilk, and any kind of dairy product, except plain milk. Just can't handle it. I grew up on fresh, unprocessed milk - the kind that would be in a big glass pitcher in the fridge, with about an inch of thick cream on top. I loved it, and would probably drink it today if you could find such a thing. However, once it's been processed, pasteurized, homogenized, sanctified and glorified, I can't stand it. I think it goes back to elementary school, when the cafeteria served milk in little glass bottles, with a soggy cardboard stopper on top. It wasn't cold, just sitting in a bin with a few pieces of crushed ice sitting on top, making the stoppers soggier. The teachers served as lunchroom monitors, and would walk along between the tables, and any child not drinking their milk was commanded to do so. I couldn't even drink the milk at home if it wasn't ice-cold, and I sure couldn't drink that cardboard-y tasting stuff at room temperature, so I got yelled at a lot. So, to this day, I can't handle processed milk. I even put half-and-half on my cereal. If it's creamy enough, it's okay, but without the cream, it's like chalk dissolved in water. Yuck!

Well, guess who hasn't yet received that tax refund. The IRS website said it would arrive by Nov. 27, but it didn't. Now the website just says it is being processed! Exactly what does that mean? So - with a bank account so depleted that I can't even pay attention - I've got a call in for my CPA. Maybe he can find out something. My SS check was deposited yesterday, and I went through it in about ten minutes. At least the lights will stay on. That refund will arrive eventually, but it just makes me want to get my bony little fingers around the neck of the scum that pulled this stunt. It couldn't have happened at a worse time, with me being on reduced income due to medical leave. As of this week, my pay drops from 60% to 50%, but I'm offsetting it by selling some of my banked PTO. However, that won't be paid until late in December, and that looks like a long time off. Oh well. God will provide, and I'm not hungry or cold, so I'm thankful.

Happy birthday to Lucy! How is that ankle, girl? Details, we want details!

Well, I'd better get moving. Got to be at rehab shortly. I'm sure getting tired of driving out there three days a week, but it's helping, so off I go. Blessings! --Romeena

Thank y'all for the birthday wishes! I do so appreciate them! I'm 36 now and so my husband keeps telling me I'm officially middle age. Life is happening too fast!

My ankle is so-so. Some days are better than others. The surgeon over corrected and area and my foot still won't lie flat causing other tendons to hurt. Hoping in time with walking it will go down. It's been a year though since my second fusion.

Boo, have you tried biofeedback for Sean? It helps with my ADD. Also, Nick has bad anxiety and he takes 5htp and ashwaganda. I would look into acupuncture too. It helps Nick a lot. Since Nick moved out he's started smoking, which I don't recommend but it has calmed him.

I hope everyone had a wonderful thanksgiving! We went to Ohio. I tried to get on the porch there, but my wifi connection was spotty.

Well, they are calling me back so I must go! I'm getting a mammogram. Next going to the DMV. Glutton for punishment today. Have a good one!

Blessings,
Lucy

November 29, 2012 - Msg 91280: Ashwa-what, Lucy? Guess I will look that one up. No, we never tried biofeedback but I have considered it. It might be hard to find someone good in our area that uses it. Thank you for the advice. :) Hope your day improves. Are you already doing yearly mammograms at your age? Mine didn't start until 40.

Congratulations, Frankie. I hope I can see my grandchildren born one day...if they will let me out of the nursing home for the event! haha

Get Bruce to rub my feet with lotion, Asa?! That would not happen. My husband has some sort of lotion phobia. He can't stand the feel of it. He would rub my feet without it, but that's just not the same. Now, I can get Erin to do it sometimes if I pay her. Kids.

Better get going. Plenty to do today, but at least I'm not getting the waffle iron like Lucy.

Boo

November 29, 2012 - Msg 91281: Boo, you missed a great Christmas quote there.
"And I'll pay Audrey a quarter too!" (name it Boo)

Good to see you Lucy. 36? Yer still a kid.

November 29, 2012 - Msg 91282:
Lucy! Good to see you on FB too. You look GREAT at 36. But really, the waffle iron AND the dmv?
Like Opie said about a haircut AND a bath...haha
BOO- saw your cookies on FB, very funny!
Movie quote: "KISS HER ALREADY! YOUTH... WASTED ON THE YOUNG!" (:

November 29, 2012 - Msg 91283: I know your quote from It's a Wonderful Life, MDC, but I'm not sure about the paying Audrey a quarter thing...It sounds like something I heard on "Christmas Vacation"...but can't remember the context.

Boo

November 29, 2012 - Msg 91284: Boo. You have the right show.
It's when both sets of grand parents show up at the Griswalds, and Clark's mom is telling Rusty she'll give him a quarter if he will rub the bunions on her feet. Then says "and I'll give Audry a quarter too. :)

November 29, 2012 - Msg 91285: Boo, prayers for Sean. Anxiety issues are fairly big in my family. One member is still dealing poorly with them, one is taking meds for them, and one like me just got fed up with them and said ENOUGH! And two of my brothers didn't have any issues with them. Oddly enough, they have had more (real)physical issues than any of us. We all have to count our blessings.

Romeena, I used to LOVE half&half on cereal. We used to go to my grandmother's in Milwaukee every year for the state fair, and she would always serve cereal with half&half, and it was soooo much better tasting than plain milk.
I don't drink plain milk either, but there is a store here called Quik Trip(don't know if you have them where you are) which I've found has the best chocolate milk I have ever tasted, so I drink quite a lot of it. It is really creamy and tasty, as long as you don't get the lowfat version. Yuck!

Btw Ro, you haven't received your tax refund yet??? Good night! We got ours just a few weeks after we filed, and we didn't even file that early. Hopefully you will get it before you have to file next year, which is coming up on us pretty quick.

November 29, 2012 - Msg 91286: Good afternoon, porch! Sterling, I think you must have missed a post or two. I filed electronically, through my CPA early in October. They owe me, and I typically file late, and use the refund as a year-end bonus, so to speak. Well, three days later, we were notified that my refund had been rejected because according to them, someone had already filed, using my name, SS and DOB. They got a refund, too! No, not my refund, they got whatever they trumped up in their return, no doubt claiming numerous dependents and claiming the earned income credit thing. The IRS acknowledged it was a scam, and that I would eventually get my refund, but said it could take as long as a year. Shortly thereafter, I checked the "Where's my Refund" site, and it said I would receive it by Nov. 27. Happy, happy me! Well, it's now the 29th and it still hasn't come. Also, on the website, the sentence about receiving it by the 27th has been removed. So, I wait.

I don't do lowfat anything. I probably should, if one believes all the hype, but I can't help but wonder if all the gums and resins they add to the lowfat products are all that good for you. Read the label, and it'll scare you to death! I feel the same way about artificial sweeteners. Even my diabetic body knows what to do with natural sugar, it just isn't very efficient at it. It has no idea what to do with the chemicals in the sweeteners. Besides, they taste like cough syrup, they give me a headache, and leave me with a craving for something sweet. So, I eat real food, and take my insulin accordingly. My A1C is in normal range, and my cholesterol is 172.

I'm working on my Christmas tree. I took the top section over to the Christmas store where the tree was bought in 2010, and they're going to rewire it for me. It is so dense, and everything is wrapped so tightly, I knew with my arthritic hands, I couldn't even get the old wires off, let alone put the new ones on. As for the two strings that were out on the main body of the tree, I pulled them off and have replaced one, and almost got the other one. Naturally, it's on the upper part, and I'm having to stand on something to do it, so I'm being very careful and have my Life Alert thing on, just in case I should fall off the little ladder. I really don't want to do that, and I think my back surgeon would not approve, but Toye Starr doesn't have thumbs, so isn't much help with such as this. Besides, she's too short.

Anyway, I can't finish the tree until next week, because I have to wait for David to come to Irving Monday morning and put the top on it, and move it to a new platform Ted is making for it. He's attaching some 6" casters to a plywood platform, and David will stand the tree on that. Then when I'm through decorating it, all I have to do is roll it back into its corner and I'm done! How easy is that, and why didn't I think of it 50 years ago?

Well, I'm off to scavenge the last of the leftovers. Sure have enjoyed them, but all good things must come to an end. Blessings! --Romeena

November 29, 2012 - Msg 91291: G-f, I am trying to figure out how to use them as christmas decorations near the porch swing. ;) hehe

Boo

November 29, 2012 - Msg 91292: Boo, Never thought the Christmas angle for your bats or I would have sent along some of that stretchy string stuff so they could "bounce" in the wind. Maybe it would work on warding off evil Grinches too..Make sure "Bernie gets one. I forgot, I named two of them "Jake & Ellwood" so they are: "The Bouncing Blues Bat Brothers Review"..Say that 10 times!
And one of the gray ones is "Dixie" she is a pistol I think she will fit right in there...
(Just keep the black ones away from the gray ones they just don't get along) wonder what causes that?

Tom..The old "Erie" Lady has been quiet, let's hope she stays that way!

Romeena, About your tax refund, maybe they spent it on all the "Obama phones"? That's what I'm thinking...
G-F.....

November 30, 2012 - Msg 91293:
RO- did you try your "LightKeeper" on the tree lights? I started getting out my lights today, and have already used it! Greatest darn invention since them obamaphones!
OK ALL- question for you: Why did they do so many tags eps (4 I think) about stupid barney thinking that Andy and Helen were getting married? Geesh, did the writers have a brain cramps?? I saw the one today about all of andy's friends doing a total makeover on Andy's room! Ask him, just ask him first! (:
So... we got the Mayan thing, the fiscal cliff, the Israel-Hamas fight, etc...lots to have anxiety about, but I always come back to that Phil. 4:6-7 scripture..."Be anxious for nothing, but..." Gives me peace friends, hope it does you all as well.
MDC (:
"Tarnation...now how'd them roller skates get in there?"

November 30, 2012 - Msg 91294: Yeah, I must have missed a post in the archives or something, Ro, because looking over your other posts here I know I would have asked the same thing. Hope you get your refund soon!
BTW, I am with you on the "real food" thing.

Yes MDC, you'd think as close as Andy and Barney were(or "Ange" and "Barn") to each other, they wouldn't have those personal mixups.
As for your question as to why, ...I don't know. They should have had one where Andy thought that Barney and Thelma Lou were getting married to even things up a little. ;)

-Sterling Holobyte

November 30, 2012 - Msg 91295: Good morning, porch! Now come on, guys - that thing about Barney thinking Andy and Helen were getting married - that wasn't tired writers or anything of the sort. That was a deliberate play on Barney's tendency to jump to conclusions, to act without thinking it through, and his general nosy, busybody personality. (Bless his heart!) He never discussed it with Andy, because that's how Barney did things. Always planning a surprise, big secrets, such as that. It was the child-like side of his nature. The fact that he did it repeatedly just made it all the funnier. It gave reason for Andy's heightened frustration with him, and allowed Andy to point out the repeated occurrences in his lecture to him. The first occurrence was funny. The second one was funnier to me, simply because it WAS the second time. The third one - well, you just knew Andy was going to blow a gasket that time, and it was hilarious. Through it all though, you couldn't get too mad at Barney. His heart was in the right place - he just wanted to see his friend married and happy.

It's kind of like the way so many people didn't like Warren. They say he was annoying. Well, of course he was! He was supposed to be! That's the way the writers created him, and Jack Burns played it to the hilt. Warren was one of those people that in real life you'd want to just smack upside the head, but you don't. Still, in all his annoying behavior, there was a kind of innocence that was a bit endearing. He was one of those people you can't help but like, but can only be around in small doses. I have a friend like that. I love her dearly, but can only be with her in short sessions. Much longer, and I'd have to kill her. Hmmm - wonder if she feels the same way about me??

MDC, those lights were beyond help. When all the bulbs are blackened, you know even the Lightkeeper can't resuscitate them. You're right, that little gun is a small miracle, but it couldn't have helped those lights. Believe me, I would have tried, because I absolutely hate rewiring a tree. It's always a string that's just over my head, and I have to teeter on some little stepstool or short ladder, and I don't enjoy that at all. My arms and shoulders get tired, and my patience wears very thin. So why do I do this? Because the tree is so beautiful when it's finished, and I enjoy it very much. Also, because my little Trip will be here next weekend, if their plans work out.

Well, got to get busy. Ted will probably be here shortly with the rolling platform for the tree, and I'm going to impose on his sweet nature, and ask him to move the tree from the impossible thing it's sitting on how and stand it on the new roller. He'll do it, Ted has been a good friend for years - one of my little army of trusted people who help me maintain this place. With no man on the premises, I need them, God provided them, and I appreciate them! And of course, I also pay them, when I can persuade them to give me a bill. Blessings, friends. --Romeena

November 30, 2012 - Msg 91297: Well all I can say is that Barney was a slow learner.

It is going to be 80+ degrees here for the next several days. Bah, humbug.

WOW, a rolling tree! Maybe after Christmas you can roll it right into a closet. haha
Did you see the photo of the NYC cop and the homeless man? Shows that there is still a lot of good, and hope, in this world!!!

November 30, 2012 - Msg 91300: Hey y'all!

I'm on for 2 days in a row. Miracles do happen. ;)

Homemaker, I'm sorry to hear about your parents!
Boo, I have a fibroid and yesterday found out there's another little mass that needs biopsied. I have to go off my coumadin and honestly it's a big pain to do that unless absolutely needed. They are going to watch it and if it grows in 3-6 months I will get it biopsied as well. About the biofeedback, check out Dr. Perlmutter's website. There may be a doctor find it kind of thingy.
MDC, yes, it was a long day yesterday! I like my license picture better though. Haha
Romeena, Our tree is pre-lit and husband takes 4 different pieces and puts them together. He did it in 15 minutes the other night! I need to get out the stockings and other decorations this weekend. Honestly, I have gotten so behind on laundry, groceries, and actual homemaking that it will be last.
I saw that some of y'all are watching Hallmark Channel movies. I love those! Last night we watched Shrek Christmas and it was annoying. A few years ago it was cute and funny. Now it's annoying. It's no Charlie Brown Christmas!
Did y'all hear about Rhode Island Governor calling their tree a winter solstice tree? That's ridiculous!
Well, gotta go get some of those groceries so that I can come home and make dinner, do the dishes, do the 8 loads of laundry piled on my couch, and then go to bed...the life of a busy Mama.

Blessings y'all,
Lucy

November 30, 2012 - Msg 91301: Winter solstice tree...oh brother. Well, Lucy, sounds like no need for any real concern but do you have to wait 3 months to have it looked at again? Do it as soon as you can to get it off your mind. I will look at the website you suggested, thanks.

Yep, today's christmas cartoons just aren't as good as the old ones. I love Charlie Brown's christmas! Rudolph bores a little, though. I used to love to watch it every year, though. I loved The Little Drummer Boy, too, and Santa Claus is Coming to Town. I always, always watched The House Without a Christmas Tree, too....that was my favorite. It wasn't a cartoon but they showed it nearly every Christmas for years. Anyone else remember it?

I'm doing laundry today, too (what else is new).
