October 29, 2011 - Msg 86052: Good morning, porch! Mary Wiggins, what a treat to see you here! Girl, we have missed you! I still get comments from guests on those three prints I have of Pat's work. So beautiful! My kids know that when they're cleaning out this house one of these days, those prints are not garage-sale material! Actually, that would never be a consideration. They'll probably have to draw straws to see who gets them, as they all like them.

Tom, it's good to see you too. Thanks for the poem - you always have just the right one to brighten things up.

Asa, watch your email. I'll try to send you that link in a little bit different form. I'll send it as a direct link, and if it won't open from that, you'll have the actual address and you may be able to type it in and open it. I think you'll appreciate what it contains, and I'll send you a little follow-up that has occurred as well. Pretty interesting.

Well, I think I've sat here long enough that my back has released me. I've discovered that when I get up with my back locked in a vise, I can come and sit in this office chair for a little while, and for some reason, it relaxes and lets me go. When I first got up, I could barely move. Now, I'm fully mobile. I don't get it, but I'm glad I found something that works. Going back to bed only makes it worse. Weird!

Blessings, everyone! --Romeena

Too bad about the Rangers. Alot of folks were pulling for them.

God bless Tom for making us all think about Christmas! Wow, and where has THIS year gone?

October 30, 2011 - Msg 86057: Good Sabbath morning all. I hope the day finds you all happy, healthy, and wealthy.

Boo, you gonna send me them crock pot soup recipes? I'm excited to try some this winter.

MDC, No goat. I have a twin bagger on it. They mulch up pretty good when the mower eats em up. Then just throw them on the garden and till em in. By next spring they are broke down and the soil is looking good.

Looks to be a sunny and wonderful day today. Sure been a nice Fall here. I hope it hangs around a while longer.... like until March! :)

Asa

October 30, 2011 - Msg 86058: Morning Asa! The weather here is lovely this morning. Sunny and cool. OK, here are a couple of recipes you might want to try. First I will give you the crock pot chicken and dumplings recipe: Use four, boneless and skinless chicken breasts and cut it into chunks. Put in crock pot with 2 tablespoons of butter, one small, diced onion, and two cans of Cream of Chicken soup and put in enough water just to cover it all. You can add some salt or pepper at this point, if you like...just however much you like (or you can use a couple of chicken bullion cubes if you have them..it's optional). Cook this on high for 5 or 6 hours, or on low for 8 hours or so. About 30 minutes before serving, pinch up 2 cans of refrigerated biscuits and add that. Cover and cook until dough is cooked through (should be 20 or 30 minutes). That's it.
Next, my recipe for beef-vegetable soup (this one is a real favorite at our house): You can use either use ground beef or stew meat, whichever. My kids like it with ground beef. First you brown the meat (1-2 lbs of ground or stewmeat) in a skillet...you may have to use just a little oil if the meat is lower in fat. Put meat in the crockpot and add one package of Lipton Onion soup mix, 2 stalks of chopped celery, 2 cloves of minced garlic (or a half teaspoon of garlic powder), 3 cups of water,a 12 ounce can of diced tomatoes with juice, 4 beef bullion cubes, about 1/2 teaspoon of pepper. Mix in 1/2 package of frozen mixed vegetables, 1/2 package of frozen corn, 2 cups of chopped broccoli, and 2 Tablespoons of sugar (of course you can just add the full package of mixed veggies instead of adding the extra corn and broccoli...this is just the way I think it tastes best). Now, here is where it gets kind of weird, but trust me. You will need a quart bottle of V8 Juice. I don't even care for V8 juice, but I learned this trick from my mom years ago and it makes great soup. Add V8 juice until you have the level of liquid in the pot that you want. Now, stir it all together, put on the lid, and cook it all day on the low setting.
I have a recipe for Cornbread Casserole that is really good and you might want to try it to go along with the soup: First you fry up a large, diced onion in 6 tablespoons of butter. In a seperate bowl, mix together 2 eggs and 2 tablespoons of milk, add a 16 oz package of Jiffy corn muffin mix, and 2 14 ounce cans of cream style corn. Mix well, and spread into greased 13 x 9 inch baking dish. Top with the fried onions, spread on 1/2 pint of sour cream evenly over top of onions, and then sprinkle with 2 cups of shredded cheddar cheese. Bake at 425 degrees ofr 35 minutes or until puffed and golden. Let sit 10 minutes before serving. Trust me, this recipe is worth the trouble. Everyone I have ever served it to loved it.
Ok now, here is a dessert recipe for the crockpot that is really, really good and easy. It's called Hot Fudge Pudding Cake: You will need 1 C of flour, 1/4 plus 3 Tablespoons of cocoa, 1/4 teaspoon of salt, 1 cup of white sugar, 1 cup of brown sugar, 4 tablespoons of melted butter, 2 teaspoons of baking powder, 1/2 C of milk, and 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla. First, combine the flour, brown sugar, and three tablespoons of cocoa, baking powder, and salt in bowl. Stir in milk, butter and vanilla. Spray crockpot with non-stick spray or grease with butter or oil, and spread batter evenly into crockpot. Mix together 1 cup of white sugar and 1/4C of cocoa and sprinkle evenly over the batter. Pour remaining melted butter over all of it, then pour over 1 and 3/4 cup of hot water but don't stir!. Cover and cook on high for 1 to 2 hours. Serve with whipped cream or ice cream, if desired, but it is really good just by itself.

OK, that's it for now. Gotta get ready for preachin'.

Boo

October 30, 2011 - Msg 86059: By the way Asa...I don't know how big your crockpot is, but if it is one of the smaller, round ones, you may have to cut the vegetable soup recipe in half. I use the big, oval crockpot. I like to make a big pot of soup to have extra for leftover or to freeze. You can half the recipe, though.

October 30, 2011 - Msg 86060: Oh, one more thing...Jiffy corn muffin mix comes in 8 ounce packages, so if you are making the cornbread casserole, use 2 of those.

Ro, What channel is Emril on now? I don't think it's the Food Network. I sure enjoy some of the shows on that channel. I was watching a thing they call Halloween Wars the other night. They have teams of three people. One is a cake decorator, one is a pumpkin carver, and one specializes in something else. (don't remember what now) Anyway they have something like 6 hours to create these various scarey theme things with cakes, pumpkins and other stuff. Wow, these folks are some talented people, and the stuff they can put out in such short order is amazing to me. Lots of drama also. Ha!

I think I need some Vicks rubbed on my feet. I caught a cold a few weeks back and it has settled in my chest. Boy I hate when that happens. Coughing and barking like a prarrie dawg!

Well bark or not, off to work I go.

Prayers for all.

October 31, 2011 - Msg 86069: You're welcome, Asa....yes, the crockpot is your friend. ;) I am thinking of buying another, smaller one for side dishes. I like to put something in the crock pot early on sunday morning so I will have lunch ready after church but if I had another crockpot, I could have a side dish ready, too....or a dessert.

G-F, Bernie is growing pretty fast and has already sprouted some little black feathers on his wingtips. Yesterday we went to check on him and he had jumped up to the top of his box and had perched there! I am going to try to get him a companion from the feed store today if they have any chicks. They usually have them in the fall. Bernie the goat herder...hmmm...something to think about.

Yesterday, I think our goat Elvis, butted my dog in the hip. I didn't see it but I could tell she was hurt and I had seen Elvis up on his hind legs the other day acting like he wanted to get her. I like Elvis but he is getting kind of aggressive. We had been letting out to graze in the yard but I think we are going to have to keep him up now. Bruce has been planting grass seed in their fenced area so they will have plenty of grazing but it hasn't come up yet.

Busy day today. Have a list of things to accomplish besides the homeschooling.

Sorry you're cold, TOM. I know you hate the cold weather.

Better get going...I have finished the coffee and must officially begin the day. :)

November 01, 2011 - Msg 86081: What a lovely evening! David came over and replaced a high-up light bulb for me, and then moved that huge plumeria tree out of the back yard and around into the garage for me for the winter. It won't survive below 38 degrees, so has to be brought in. It's nearly ten feet tall, and in the pot with the dirt it weighs nearly 200 pounds. He moved it with a 2-wheel dolly. It wasn't going to fit in the garage, so I pruned it a bit, by breaking off the tallest shoots. By spring, the breaks will have healed and will have put out at least two sprouts from the break. The pieces I broke off will root, and make new plants, which I'll share with someone. What a great plant!

Anyway, my big old son took care of it for me, so I fried him some pork chops, and made some really good milk gravy to go over some noodles, and we had homestyle green beans and hot rolls. Eloise and Jerry came over, and we had a great time. Brittney and the boys were at their church doing their "trunk-or-treat" thing. Brittney has already emailed me pictures - the boys were having a good time. They wore their baseball uniforms as costumes, complete with black eye smudges, and looked so professional! I had made extra pork chops, so sent them home with David as planned. Brittney loves them. She and David are great at multi-tasking with the kids, they don't seem to feel the need to travel in a pack all the time. They're very good at tag-teaming, so that the kids get to experience a lot of different things.

Well, my body is tired, so I think I'm going to hit the hay. I slept a couple of hours today after I got home from work, but that's about worn off, and I'm ready for bed. Blessings, all! --Romeena

November 01, 2011 - Msg 86084: Good morning, porch! Wow, auh2o, I must say "ditto" to everything you said. As for Tom Brokaw, did he really say that? Poor man! You're right, his values are really messed up. There are exceptions, I know. Some people aren't blessed with the best of families, but most of us are.

Why do things always happen at the least-convenient time? My realtor called, the renter in my biggest rent house called, and said his sprinkler system has flooded his yard and he can't shut it off, so he turned the water off at the street. I called my friend Joe, who is also my landscaper/sprinkler guy, and of course - he's down deep in the Texas Hill Country, putting in a huge irrigation system on a ranch down there. He won't be home for days. To make it worse, he said the renter's system has probably blown a valve, which will have to be replaced. He said there should be a separate cutoff for the system, so the renter can still have water in the house, but it may not. The system is very old, original with the house, and it may not have one. So, off I go, to see what I can see, praying there is a cutoff, and I can find it. If not, I guess I'll have to call a general plumber to come put one in. Then we can wait for Joe to get home to fix the sprinkler. Oh, woe is me!

I hope everyone's weather is as beautiful as it is here right now. Chilly, but beautiful. Blessings! --Romeena

November 02, 2011 - Msg 86092: Busy here, too Asa. Always too much to do around here. Last night I didn't get the dinner dishes done and the kitchen tidied up until 10pm. I was busy the entire day and evening. I slept in until 8am this morning, which was just what i needed. Still plenty of chore to do today.

Our garden is hanging in there and we have lots of tomatoes on the vine. The corn is coming up slow and no sign of any pumpkins yet. We will have lots of green beans, though. If we don't get some kind of freak freeze, we should be doing good by December and have some fresh produce for Christmas dinner. I'm going to make one, big green bean casserole! Bruce went a little overboard the greenbeans.

Fried onions and baloney, Auh2o?! Sounds terrible to me. Maybe its a guy thing. There is only one way I like cabbage and I make it for my mom on new year's. I fry some bacon and the fry up shredded red cabbage in the drippings. When it softens up some, I put in some vinegar, salt, and some sugar and cook it all down. It's called "Sweet and Sour Cabbage" and it's good.

Speaking of red cabbage, I always think of Ralphie and A Christmas Story when I think of it. Remember how his mom seemed to make alot of red cabbage? Hey, it's almost time for our Christmas movie quotes again. Let's start the day after Thanksgiving.

Well, better quit stalling and get going this morning.

November 02, 2011 - Msg 86098: Good evening, porch! Loooong night last night at work, came home and sat down in my chair to rest "a minute" and woke up at 3:15 p.m.! Crick in my neck like you wouldn't believe. What a dumb trick!

No, no cutoff found on the sprinkler system at the rent house. My trusty friend Ted went by, though, and just went to the faulty valve, disconnected it and capped the line. So the renter has water again, and when Joe gets back to town in a few days, he will fix the broken valve. Things have a way of working out, especially when God has provided me with capable and trustworthy friends to manage things for me.

John Masters, you've been away too long! It's good to see you back - you just must stop these long absences. Same goes for Mary Wiggins, who has been gone for months and months. No more of that, you hear? Also - I'm thinking I'd like another of Pat's paintings - is there a comprehensive catalog of his work available somewhere? He is sooo talented!

I've been having to take care of my mom, who suffers from lupus, with little to no help since I was six years old,(I'm 22 now) and almost everyday I felt like giving up. But every night I would watch The Andy Griffith show, and it would give my spirit strength to keep going. Sometimes I dreamed of visiting with them, sitting on the front porch and listening to Andy sing softly while strumming his guitar. I wish with all my heartI could meet the real Andy Taylor, to tell him, Thank you, for giving me hope. He even helped me muster up the courage to leave home and go to Job Corp, once my mom was somewhat better. something I thought I could never do, because I am deaf. But now I am a CNA!

November 03, 2011 - Msg 86100: Well hello to Msg. 86099. Everyone is welcome and loved here on the porch. Very glad you decided to stop in and share your heart. I hope you will keep coming back...there is a rocking chair here just for you. :)

Well, it is finally rather chilly here in south texas. FINALLY! I am going to put on my shorts and flip-flops and soak it up all day.

I guess by now you have all seen the horrific video of the 16 yr old girl being beaten by her father here in Texas? That guy lives about 10 minutes from me, but I have never met him. He's a real piece of work (I am choosing to not use profanity). I hope people don't think that most people are like him around here because the fact is, people in my area are about ready to string him up.

Think I will go soak up some cool air. :)

November 03, 2011 - Msg 86101: Good morning all. Hope and pray the new day is a good one for you all.

Message 86099, what a nice post. As Boo said, we have all felt blessed and inspired by the wonderful show. And please come on back and join us. Pick yourself a name, and pull up a rocker.

And as Ro said, John Masters, Marry Wiggins, y'all come back and stick around. We need you. :)

Boo, glad you are getting some cool temps finally. We have been cool here, but nothing to terrible. They are calling for a storm to roll in Friday night night though. Good chance of snow down here on the valley floor with this one. Oh well. I guess it has to be.

Ro, glad you got your water issue resolved. Just curious, how deep do they set your water mains there in Texas? We have to be below the frost line here, and then some. So most of the mains are 4 to 5 feet deep. But as a rule the sprinkling systems are only a foot or so deep because they are shut down and drained or blown out each fall.

And speaking of such, I will be doing more of that today at work. I have a large air compressor that I take to our different properties and hook into the sprinkling system and blow them out. Some of these properties are large, with 40 or more stations on them, so it takes a while. So I take a good book to read cause there is little else to do while the timer runs through the stations.

Y'all have a wonderful day.

November 03, 2011 - Msg 86105: Good morning, porch! To #86099, I'm so glad you dropped by, and hope you will make this a daily stop. The rockers are always out on the porch, and the weather is always comfortable, no matter what's happening elsewhere. Just choose yourself a "handle" - something Mayberry-related if you wish, but it doesn't have to be - and join our family. Sounds like you've led an interesting, sometimes difficult, but very productive life so far. God bless you!

Asa, I don't think our water mains are buried that deep. Probably only about 2 or 3 feet. As for the sprinkler lines, they're about 6 to 8 inches down, and we don't drain them or blow them out. There really isn't a frost line here - I can't remember ever encountering frozen earth. I plant my tulips and other bulbs during the week between Christmas and New Year, and just dig a little hole with a hand spade, no problem. Most of us have freeze-proof outdoor faucets, especially if they come out of a north-facing wall, or we protect them by wrapping them in the event of a hard freeze, but anything that's in the ground by at least a couple of inches is safe. Life is a bit easier here, I guess.

Speaking of weather, I'm sitting here with my toes freezing, and Toye Starr is curled into a little tight ball in one of her cuddle beds, so I guess she's cold too. I just checked the temp, and it's 45 outside! Guess I'd better turn off the a/c and switch to furnace. I noticed the a/c hadn't been running, yet it's very cool in here. Now I know why.

Well, gotta run. Lots of events are coming at me fast, and I have much to do. Daughter and family are coming tomorrow night to spend the weekend, and I have to work tonight. House is a wreck, so have to rake it out a little. Then next week, Eloise and I will be leaving on Thursday for the Mayberry cruise. Lots to do!

Blessings, everyone! --Romeena

November 03, 2011 - Msg 86109: Hey to the porch. And welcome to #86099! Nice to have you. Like the others, I grew up watching TAGS also, and I never get tired of watching it. Watching a TAGS episode can be so soothing, it has got me thru many a sleepless night.
And welcome back to Mary Wiggins! It is great to see you again.
Sorry I haven't been on the porch much myself, I am recovering from 2 fractures, and man, it's been a nightmare. But I am getting better and am able to sit for longer times at the computer, so I may soon be on more.

Andy: Floyd, you brought those people in here for nothin'!
Floyd: I did not! I charged em 2 bits apiece!

November 03, 2011 - Msg 86110: Can you believe it is supposed to be in the high 30's tonight and we might get frost? It is early for us and we had to go cover the tomato plants.

TWO fractures, Hazel?! Gosh, so sorry. What on earth happened to you? Did someone wax the steps at the nursing home?! (sorry, couldn't resist). Love ya.

Morning Porch

Msg 86099-Welcome! Your post was very touching. Funny how one show about small town America can reach so many people. You mentioned dreaming about being in Mayberry. I can remember, when I was younger, laying in bed picturing myself walking around Mayberry. Please pull up a rocker.

Boo-Frost? How deep are your pipes buried? (if at all)I was wondering if that judge was near you or Romeena. That video sadden me to the core.

Poor Horatio-Thanks for the link! That was better than what I posted to Rev.

Hazel-Great quote! The banter between Andy and Floyd was always good.

A town on this end of the Porch just experienced it's third murder of the year, all three committed by illegal aliens. And, how far away from the Mexican border are we!?

Peace,
auh2o

November 04, 2011 - Msg 86112: Good Friday morning you filthy animals! (soory Boo, I can't wait till after Thanksgiving to start the quotes)

Hey Hazel, sorry your hurting. What did ya break and how did ya do it? Details, we want details. :)

Boy it's been a long week for me. You ever have one of them weeks when you feel like your going 100 mph and getting nothing done? Been that way for me for the last couple of weeks actually. I have several items at work that are just not co-operating. After two weeks of fiddling with them, I'm no further ahead than I was when I started. I just hate that when I have one thing. But boy when I get several of them like this, I just wanna lay down and scream, like Opie did when his Pa wouldn't give in to him. Waaaaaaa, somebody call me a waaaambulance.

Anyway, hopefully the stars will align today and I might make some progress. I sure hope so. Things are weighing heavy on me.

I pray you all have a blessed and safe day. They are predicting 2 feet of snow in our mountains this weekend, and up to 6 inches down here in the valley. Here we go. :(

Asa

November 04, 2011 - Msg 86113: Sorry you had such a tough week, Asa. I wish I could invite you and the missus over for a good supper and a restful evening. You would like the weather here...just perfect.

Wow, Auh2o...that is interesting. Here I am down here by Mexico and nothing like that much happens here, unless you go down near the border where the cartel run things. Now, that is scary. As far as that horrible video, it made me weep and feel sick for an hour or so and can you believe that some friends that I have known for years posted some comments on facebook defending that guy? They were even questioning whether it was really abuse or not. I have been sickened and apalled by that kind of response. I got so worked up over it last night that I had a stomach ache all evening. These are women that go to church with me and I cannot in my wildest imagine how they are so deluded. The issue of child discipline is never really approached in my church but I think it might need to be. It is making me wonder what these women might have put their own kids through that I don't know about. Very disheartening.

Better go get some things done.

November 04, 2011 - Msg 86118: I hope nobody has a hitch in their get-a-long! (:

November 04, 2011 - Msg 86119: Not only do I have a hitch in my get-along, but my get-up-and-go has got-up-and-went! Bad grammar, but you get the idea. I declare, the older I get, the creakier I get. When I first get up and get in motion, I sound like a big bowl of Rice Krispies! Snap, crackle, pop! Some of those snaps and pops smart a bit, too.

This dumb left hand that I had the surgery on a couple of months ago is not doing well. Wrist is still swollen and a bit discolored (shouldn't be) and it clicks and catches at times, really hurts when it does that. I relax the wrist and pull on the hand with my other hand, and it releases something in there and it's okay for a while. Guess when I get back from the cruise I'll have to go see the doc again. Oh well.

Hazel, what on earth happened to you? Please give us some details! It sounds pretty serious.

I've been outside filling birdbaths and cleaning my big old window. Honestly, that window is going to be the death of me. It gets so dirty, and at 5 ft high and 8 feet wide, that's a whole bunch of dirty window. It's very hard to clean without streaks, unless you give it a final polish with newspaper or something, and that's hard to do. There are shrubs and boulders in front of it, and access is difficult, but I manage. One of these days, they're going to find me draped over a boulder out there, I guess. It's worth it, though. I just had a clear and unobstructed view of a grateful little squirrel, as he came to the birdbath that's just outside the window, and drank his fill. Cute little feller! Now I suppose he'll go plant pecans in my flowerbeds, but that's okay.

Asa, I meant to tell you about this earlier, when you were talking about the wasps you have to fight. There's a product made by Loveland Industries, called simply "9 mm" - a reference, I suppose, to a zombie-stopping gun. I bought the stuff from my friend John at the garden center. It works! I had a huge, I do mean huge, wasp nest in the upper corner of a window out front. It was as big as my two hands, and covered solid with wasps. I waited until almost dark, when they were all on the nest. From about six feet away, I sprayed a shot at them for a couple of seconds, then ran. I figured they had flown and would chase me, so I ran in the garage and shut the door. Next morning, I went out to check, and I don't think one wasp had gotten more than an inch from the nest. They were piled up in a mound about two inches high, directly beneath the nest. They never even flew. A couple of days later, my David dealt with a second nest that was up in the eaves, and the same thing happened. They drop like rocks the instant the stuff hits them. I hope you can find it where you are because, my friend, it works!

Well, I'd better get busy. Heather and company are on the road, headed here. I'll have three hungry teenagers and a three year old and their parents here around nine, so had better finish a little housekeeping, and get something cooking. Can't wait to see them!! Blessings! --Romeena

November 05, 2011 - Msg 86124: Good morning, porch! It's absolutely beautiful here today, just gorgeous. Blue skies, wispy clouds, sunshine, fresh air, temp is 52 but still very comfortable outside. I've been out back feeding the pond fish with my grandson - he's a hoot! He wanted to pet the fish, and would you believe, some of them let him do so! Yep, stayed at the surface and let him touch them. He was just thrilled!

The battery was dead in the water-spitter, so my son-in-law replaced it for me, so now if that miserable bird returns, he's going to get sprayed!

Spot, I'm so glad that Miss Sherry is having some good days. Thank you, Lord! We're all praying that things just get better and better, and the PET scan will show that wretched cancer to be on the run.

I'm so thankful for my tankless water heaters! With all these teenagers in the house, and two extra adults and a 3-yr-old, there are lots of showers in progress. Still we have hot water. What a blessing!

Well, gotta run. We're going to take little Trip for a ride on the DART train. He will be in heaven! The biggest thrill of all will probably be the moment when the train comes sliding into the station, with a big whoosh and a roar. Shoot, it even makes my pulse kick up a notch. Can't imagine what it will do for him. He will be all eyes, I'm sure!

Blessings, porch! --Romeena

Hey Folks

Beautiful autumn on this end of the Porch also Romeena, highs in the 50's lows in the 20's.

Asa-No snow here for at least a week but you enjoy.

G-F We're buttoning up things here also. I have turned to mulching instead of raking, just too many leaves.

Spot-Thanks for the update. I sure do hope you two get that camping trip in. Prayers buddy.

Boo-As for the video, you are right, that was a beating. Illegals in this area are quite common. It's very, very rural here with lots of agricultural workers which means lots of migrant laborers. Plus, we're on the Canadian border, relatively close to Toronto, so that brings in a bit of a spill over element. There is also a large Yemeni population in the area. Don't know if you have heard of the Lackawanna Six (sleep cell) http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,87264,00.html

November 06, 2011 - Msg 86127: I had never heard of them, Auh2o. Wow.

Boo

November 06, 2011 - Msg 86128: Actually, I had read a bit about them, and find it very chilling. These people are all around us, blending in and smiling at us, while they plot our downfall. "Naturalized citizen", indeed! This may not be a popular position to take, but in my opinion, naturalized or natural-born, when an American citizen leaves the country, takes up residence in another country and is busily and openly plotting and scheming for the destruction of American lives and property, I believe they have forfeited all rights as an American and should be treated as the traitors they are. No elaborate, expensive and probably inconclusive trial (thanks to the ACLU) should be needed. If it looks like a duck and acts like a duck, and quacks like a duck, I'm willing to accept that it's a duck, trial or no trial. I have no problem with them eliminating old Anwar al-Awlaki, because as far as I'm concerned, he relinquished his American citizenship when he publicly and openly took up the reins of a terrorist organization. I think those Yemeni creeps are getting off light. OK, 'nuff said, and I'll say no more.

Well, goodnight, all. I'm beat. Kids and grandkids here, we had a busy day, Most have gone to bed, two boys still up watching movies. Me, I'm for bed! Toye Starr agrees. Blessings! --Romeena

November 06, 2011 - Msg 86130: Good Sabbath morning porchters.

Ro, thanks for the info on that wasp killer. I will for sure try to procure some of that next summer. They are all gone bye bye for this year. I guess that's one good thing about the cold. BTW, What brand of tanklees water heater do you have? I am probably going to get one. Out water heater is 11 years old and I know it will be needing replaced soon. Tankless makes so much sense to me now. My Dad had one in his house 30 years ago before they were even available much in this Country. I'm not sure where he bought it, but it worked great for 30 years and was a huge energy saver. Have you experienced any issues with hard water deposits building up in it? Or do you have a water softener. I have heard the only real issue has been deposits building up in the coils and the need to have then "backflushed" regularly.

Auh2o, and Boo, yep, we got our first snow yesterday. It wasn't much though, at least down here. Just a couple of inches. But colder than a well diggers buttocks now. Sure is pretty though. (the snow, not the well diggers butt.)

G-F, Be careful with that Ben Gay. Don't store it next to the Preparation H. You might grab the wrong tube one night and boy will you know it. Don't ask how I know. :)

Guess I best get ready for preachin. Still barking a bit, but I think I'll not be to big a problem.

Prayers for all, especially for Miss Sherry and Spot and for Maudies friend.

And hope your doing ok Possum. This new job keeps you away from the porch too much. I don't like that! :(

Asa
