November 22, 2007 - Msg 58338: Wanted to stop by & tell my porch family Happy Thanksgiving! I hope everyone has a wonderful day! When I count my blessings, this porch is high on the list. I am thankful to have each & every one of you in my life, ya'll are the best!

November 22, 2007 - Msg 58339: I thought it was a holiday & here I am sweeping! Ya'll be sure to clean yer plates like I just cleaned the porch!

November 22, 2007 - Msg 58340:

Well I declare I always seem to post just before a sweep. Wonder what causes that. Good job, *Mavis.

Just stopped in earlier to wish everyone a wonderful Thanksgiving. The dog is now out of the recliner and the turkey is out of the oven and my big feast is ready to eat. I usually start the night before, but last night I had too much on my mind so I saved it all for today. Now my back's hurting too much to eat.

Thanking the Lord for all our blessings today and every day. Prayers for all needing them.

November 22, 2007 - Msg 58341: Happy Thanksgiving to all of my porch friends. Been a busy day, cooked for 10 today, cleaned up and am resting for a few minutes. All of our company have gone now. Have a great evening. Big Maude

November 22, 2007 - Msg 58343: Good evening, everyone. Just came home from my DIL's sister's house, where we had our Thanksgiving dinner. I hated to leave good company (and all those leftovers) but I have to go to work.

I spent the morning getting all my lighted deer in place, pegged down and powered, twinkle lights out, and all is done. It was mid-40s all morning, is now in high 30s, and we had snow! Big fat flakes, so pretty in the air, but it all melted as soon as it hit the ground, of course.

I had closed little Starr up in the bathroom while I was gone. Hmmm. Sliding door, and she has learned to open it. She met me in the kitchen when I got home a few minutes ago. Little escape artist. She's worse than Ernest T. Bass!

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone. Blessings to one and all. --Romeena

November 22, 2007 - Msg 58346: Just lazily stopping by for a rock--I'm too pooped and too stuffed to do much else! Boy, this was the best meal of the year! I had lost some weight over the past weeks but I tell ya--every ounce has been gained back...and then some. SPOT, no Captain Crunch tonight, huh? Be sure to fill your plate twice!

RO, now if you could just teach STARR to do dishes while you're away, things would be just perfect!

You know, I saw Barney's mom once when he was frisking her at a road block and she didn't look none too thin. But I won't tell Barney, he's sensitive.

Happy night to all! Merri W.

Happy Thanksgiving porch family! Pray you all have had a GREAT day giving thanks.

Merri W....praying you are feeling better. Listen to Ro so you can get over this thing.

Asa...I pray that you and Mrs had a good day my friend.

Ro...you mentioned your lighted deer.....well I put mine out yesterday and half the lights are not working and can't seem to find the problem. Seems like I always have bad luck with lights.

Hey Brother Spot....yep I ate plenty of turkey...ham...dressing...homemade dumplings... collards...homemade mac cheese pie...sausage stuffing...sweet potato caserole...and all kinds of pies. I'm stuffed.....but I'm smiling.

Boo.....where you at? Missing you!

You all have a good night and know that I'm praying for all the porch family. I thank God for the many blessings that He has bestowed upon each of us.

MAVIS, I sure did get to that link...they have lots of lovely little delectables. I'll be ordering some here shortly--I just gotta have one of those candy cane baskets! Thanks for posting the address!

I really better hit the hay. Tomorrow morning at 8 a.m. I'm having Stanley Steamer come in and steam clean my carpets and then tomorrow night the Christmas tree goes up. It's colder than an outdoor potty seat here! With the wind chill it's 14 degrees...brrrrr. I've got my floppy flannels on and several covers on the bed--nothing like a chilly room for good sleeping!

THANK YOU ALL FOR THE WELL WISHES! You all are so comforting and caring, it just puts a big ole' smile on my face, it really does! GOD BLESS YOU ALL.

Blessings friends. MW

November 23, 2007 - Msg 58350: Colder than an outdoor potty seat? That's a good one MW. Mind if I use that sometime? LOL

Thanks Rev, for your kind thoughts. We had a wonderful Thanksgiving yesterday. My MIL and Daughters came over and did most of the work. I ate way yonder to much, but we all had a grand time. Tonight is the Mannheim Steamroller concert we are going to. Very excited about that.

You're right Hazel, My Mother was just like that too. Cept hers all went to muscle and brain. :)

So we watched Christmas Story last night (a tradition here on Thanksgiving night). Anyone else like that show? I just love the Fathers "major award" and desire to display it in the front room window. "What a great lamp!" Ha!

It's good and cold here this morning too. You can bet I ain't sticking my tounge on no flagpoles this morning. Brrr.

Love ya all.

November 23, 2007 - Msg 58356: Good afternoon, all. Asa, do you think you could smuggle me in to that concert? Boy, I'd love to hear the Steamroller in person. I've got their CDs in the car, though - so pretty. Got a new Josh Groban CD from my DIL this week - his Christmas album! Oh, my! Not only is that boy absolutely gorgeous, but he sings like an angel as well. What a voice!

REV, I've got a bunch of half-lit deer in my yard as well. (heehee) Seems like they last just two or three years, then the lights start to go out, and you just can't find the problem. The squirrels come and steal bulbs out of mine, and when I find empty sockets, I can fix that, but you can't always find them. Sometimes you can run the entire string, and know there are no empties, but still it won't work. Annoying.

Well, I'm cooking tomorrow, for the kids that could make it in for the weekend. Worked last night, slept about three hours today, and am ready to go now. We're going to eat out tonight - my daughter wants Chinese, since they can't get any good Chinese where she lives. Suits me, I love Chinese! Then turkey tomorrow - yay!

I SURVIVED!!! Not eating (like ASA), but working a double shift at the hospital. There were too many people wanting off, so I told them I would work a double--THEN my daughters had this BRIGHT idea, that when I got off work at 10pm, we would go to the local outlet mall and wait until they opened at midnight. Being brain-dead from exhaustion already, I agreed, only to find out if you go there in your pj's they give you deeper discounts and coupons. The pj's felt good, but let me tell you, there is no discount big enough for me to do that again. Know what I want for Christmas?? A padded room because I must be insane!

November 24, 2007 - Msg 58372: Good morning my fuzzy Porch Pals.
I pray you all survived turkey day. Sounds like you almost didn't N.N. What were you thinking girl? Is Meredith doing better?

Romeena, Hazel, I can't imagine you guys have never seen Christmas Story. Go get it now, and enjoy it. A very funny and enjoyable movie. Possum's rendition of Deck the Halls is right on!
Romeena, I know you would love this show as it's setting is a period when you were a child. I know you'll love it.

Now, I don't want to sound like I'm on Chip Davis' payroll as a promoter, but if any of you ever get the chance to go to a Mannheim Steamroller concert, it's a must. We had the best evening out probably since the last one we went to several years ago. They are fabulous. What a show. The music combined with the special effects is just spectacular. Their rendition of "White Christmas" is wonderful and they create an indoor snow storm, as well as using some kind of fog machine that covers the floor in a fog and you have this illusion that you're floating in a cloud while listening to it. I can't say enough about how wonderful it was. We were both sad to see it end. They finished up with "Silent Night" which their rendition of is as beautiful as anything I've ever heard. The only bummer was they didn't do "O Holy Night" which is my all time favorite.
They have a new CD out Romeena, and Chip Davis said it was only released 9 days ago and has already gone Platinum. So buy you there new CD when your buying Christmas Story. HA!

Well I think I'm gonna go out and brave the cold and put up some outdoor lights today. We usually do every year but this year with Mrs. Asa not doing so well, I just have not been in the mood to much. But that concert last night inspired me and really lifted my spirits.
Then to top it off this mornings mail brought good news. Mrs. Asa' most recent blood work shows her liver functions much improved. She is reducing her steroid dosage now. This is wonderful because maybe the damage is not permanant. What a great blessing.

Thank you for your prayers guys and gals. I can't express in words what your friendship and fellowship means to me.

Asa

November 24, 2007 - Msg 58376: Good morning, all. I finally got some sleep last night, after working Thursday night and only two hours of sleep yesterday morning. I feel wonderful now. Good thing, because I've got a Thanksgiving meal to cook today, for fifteen of us. Guess I'd better get busy. If anybody wants to drop around this evening, there'll be plenty of food.

Well, since I haven't seen "The Christmas Story" movie, and all this discussion has my curiousity up, I guess I'll get a copy and try it. I KNOW I'll be getting the Steamroller CD! I think they could be playing Chopsticks and I'd love it. Asa, I'm so glad you and Mrs. Asa got to go to their concert, and I just can't tell you how delighted I am to hear that she's doing better. That's the best news I've heard in a good long while. I pray that the upward swing continues and she's soon feeling fit as a fiddle.

Starr is loving having company in the house, just goes from lap to lap, and is really getting spoiled to all the attention. Bless her little heart, she always circles back to me when she gets tired, and snuggles down. Gotta love her! We were at my son's house for a while last night, his dog Bentley was there (the one she chased around the island in my kitchen) and they played again, apparently have become good pals. It's hilarious, because his fluffy old head is bigger than she is. You can see Bentley in the album, on the last page of the "Sugarplum and Family Pets" album. He's a hoot, just a big old 40 lb. galumph, not a mean bone in his body. It's so cute, the way he plays with Starr, pulling his punches and being so careful with her. How does he know that she's fragile? He does, for sure. Animals can be so wonderful.

Well, my houseguests just returned, first soccer game of today is finished, they won, and have another game at 1:15. They're cold, tired, wet and hungry. Guess I'd better go see what I can do for them. Have a great weekend, everyone.

Blessings! --Romeena

November 24, 2007 - Msg 58377: Hope everyone had a happy Thanksgiving. I had a quiet one---I watched "Mr Smith" and "Meet John Doe" My daughter called--she did not go to Arizona after all--She has a term paper due and wanted to stay home and work on it. She ended up having dinner with a friend in town.
My cranberry and dressing ended up fine--though I cheated a bit and was not totally "from scratch" sort of semi-scratch. I did make Cornbread dressing--Though I used some Stove top for bread crumbs--baked the cornbread though and doctored it up with sausage, green and red peppers, onions and mushrooms.
I uses some canned whole canberry sauace and a can of mandrin oranges--with a little ginger, cinnimon and allspice--just put it in the blender and Volia---cranberry to die for!!!
I am looking forward to starting my Christmas baking

November 24, 2007 - Msg 58378: The storm has passed momentarily. Soccer girls are sleeping, parents have gone to buy a laptop that's on a terrific sale, and I'm trying to straighten things up a bit. Got my canned fruit draining for the fruit salad, cranberries were cooked last night, I'm debating whether to tackle a pie at this late hour, the turkey wasn't thawed in the fridge, so it's sitting in a roaster full of water, but we'll eat at six. No problem!

I love days like this - house full of people, too much to do, but lots of help around and it all gets done. Then the peace and quiet after it's all over is pleasant, too. Life is good, and God is good.

I just love imagining what your houses, families and stuff looks like. I love picturing you all scurrying about doing what you do! It's really a treat for me!

HAZEL, I hope you pop in today because I meant, but forgot, to tell you how THANKFUL I was/am that you could tell me the name of that children's story. It's part of my earliest memories as a child and to actually read words of it again made me incredibly happy! Thank you for doing that and I'm sorry that I'm just now telling you so...I honestly think my brain got a little fried through the strep stuff!

We got a new TV and there has been so many good holiday movies on, we're just having a blast watching all of it...it's like seeing some of this stuff for the first time. I didn't realize just how cruddy our old tv was. Well, I bought it back in 1993 when I was first getting started on my own. I'm such a cheapskate when it comes to new-fangled electronics and technology. But if I could give myself a swift kick in the pants for not doing this earlier, I would! I watched "White Christmas" with Bing Crosby and Danny Dancin' Kaye last night with the tree all aglow, the fireplace going and a cup of mulled cider. It really doesn't get much better than that.

Well my friends, our tree-topper star of Bethlehem didn't make it this year. Sadly, it will have to be replaced. So, we're bundling the gherkins and off we go to brave the crowds. May the force be with us!

PEACE everyone! Wishing you a wonderful evening! Love to all----Merri W.

Asa - MS is in Branson this year and I think it would be great to go, but tickets here are a little steep for me. May just have to go the CD route. I am thrilled with the news that things are looking up for Mrs Asa. Prayers for continued improvement.

Count me among the depraved as well, I've never seen "The Christmas Story" either. "Holiday Inn" is my favorite Christmas movie, although I haven't seen it in a few years.

So neat to hear stories of Starr's escapades, Ro. Glad she is such a good fit for you.

Be blessed in your travels, Rev.

Well, better head to the kitchen and cook up some grub for my girls. Prayers and hugs for all!

November 24, 2007 - Msg 58391: A good late evening to you all. We had a wonderful day. The soccer girls got to stay home, as the second game was cancelled due to weather. Everyone was relieved. One of the girls got stepped on yesterday with a cleat, and today she can hardly put her foot to the floor. Her little toe looks like a purple grape, and there is bruising up over the top of her foot and down along the side, at least a third of her foot is purple. I think she's got some broken bones in there. She couldn't have played anyway, but the other girl could have. She didn't seem to mind, though.

We ate too much, laughed a lot, and everyone enjoyed Starr. She and Bentley played like two good buddies, the tiny dog and the big galumph, and never a yelp was heard. Bentley is so good with her. She was worn out, though, and asked to get in my DIL's lap, then climbed from there to her shoulder, where she fell asleep. So sweet.

The in-town folks are all gone, the out-of-towners have gone to bed, and will be hitting the road around 8 in the morning. This means I must be up early to see them off, so guess I'd better turn in. Starr is asleep at my feet right now. She is just precious. Very mellow, loves to be held and cuddled, but very playful when you put her down. She's comical, runs around the house carrying toys as big as she is, trips over them, gets up and goes on. Her coat is growing out, and she looks like she's wearing big fluffy britches. Just looks hilarious as she's trotting away from you, little rear just twisting side to side, fluffy little tail waving just like Plum's used to do. My heart still yearns for my little Plum, but Starr is definitely carving out a niche for herself. God has been good. --Romeena

November 25, 2007 - Msg 58393: Well, the out-of-town daughter and family just left, towing a trailer full of baby furniture, passed on to them by her brother and his sweet wife. Baby is due in late December, so I'll be glad to hear when they arrive home safely. They also took the turkey "frame" (sounds better than carcass) and a baggie full of meat. We froze it last night, and as cold as it is today, it won't thaw, riding in the trailer. My daughter will make some wonderful soup with it, and I don't have to feel guilty about not making soup, because I wouldn't have done it. I love it when someone else makes it, but I never learned how to make a little bit of soup. I make a washtub full, and then eat soup until I'm sick of it. Oh no, not more soup!

I didn't make it to church this morning. If they had left at 8 as planned, I probably would have, but it's almost 10, and they just got away. It's always like that - four people and all their stuff to get rounded up, especially with two teenage girls. Such nice girls, though. One is my daughter's step-daughter, the other is another soccer player who came with them for the tournament. They helped me cook yesterday afternoon, and were just delightful.

A little sad thing - my garbageman fish died. My pleicostamus. I knew he wouldn't tolerate the cold weather, he's strictly a tropical, so I've been trying to locate him to remove him from the pond, but could never find him. I had a place lined up to keep him for me for the winter, but I never found him until this morning. I netted him out, and put him in a bucket of pond water, but he's dead. Just on the outside chance that's he's just dormant from the cold, I brought the bucket in the house to warm up gradually, but he's still not moving. There's no gill action, so I'm about 99% sure he's dead. Darn it. He had really grown. He was about three inches long when I put him in there, and he's about seven inches long now. He was just getting big enough to really do some good. I really hate losing him, poor little thing.

Well, I think I'll go settle down and just relax for a while. There are bed linens to change, and all the usual cleaning to do, but they de-cluttered things before they left, so there's no hurry. I'm just going to cuddle little Starr, and take it easy.

Blessings, everyone! --Romeena

November 25, 2007 - Msg 58394: Good Sabbath Morning Friends,
We finally returned after a week away. Boy it was so wonderful last night to sleep in my bed! I slept on an air mattress in the living room with my MIL sawing logs a foot away. We had a nice trip though.
Speaking of "A Christmas Story" (my boys fave Christmas move-Bryson's getting a Red Ryder BB gun for Christmas), you can tour Ralphie's house in Cleveland. We didn't make it this year (inlaws live 60 miles South of Cleveland), but will make it next. So, those of you in that area should check it out. They sell the trophy in the gift shop.
Spot- I am a huge UK fan. I don't bleed blue though like alot of Ky fans. We were travelling so I missed the game. Sounds amazing.
Romeena- Starr sounds like the light of your life, besides the Lord of course.
New Neighbor- I pray they find what's going on with your daughter real soon. Have they checked for mono or Epstein Barr? I had those same symptoms the 3 times I had mono and Epstein. I was in college with Epstein also.
Mrs. Rev & Merri- You actually went shopping? Wow! I did it one year and that's definitely the last. We stopped at an outlet mall and the parking lot was packed. I did however get everyone finished at the Polo outlet.
Tom- How's your chain going? I thought of you when I was at Lehman's (general store for non-electric Amish). They had Teaberry and Clove gum.
Auh20- Have y'all had snow up there yet?
Poor Horatio- Did you celebrate US or Canadian Thanksgiving? How's your girlfriend?
Homemaker- Did you make any meatballs?
Asa- I'm so glad to hear that Mrs. Asa is doing better.
Hazel- You have got to see "A Christmas Story". It's hilarious!
Hey to all I have missed. Have a wonderful week!
Blessings to you and yours,
~Lucy
It's Beginning to look alot like Christmas...

November 25, 2007 - Msg 58397: Hey Porch Friends! Sounds like everybody had a good day yesterday...I know holidays can be a lot of work but the fellowship we have with family and friends is priceless! BTW, when is BOO coming home?

We just got done watching "A Christmas Story" again and each time I find something else that I didn't catch before--very funny! A bit of trivia: The TV show "Wonder Years" was based on the format of this movie.

I finally found an appropriate star for our tree yesterday. It glows a bright, electric blue color and is quite stunning! Last night after PJ's were adorned, the girls curled underneath the tree to gaze at the lights. I distinctly remember doing that one year with my sister and we knocked the tree down breaking several ornaments. It was one of the rare times I saw my mother come unglued. Christmas was nearly canceled that year!

Hope everyone is having a wonderful end to this holiday weekend! Blessings and prayers all around! MW

November 25, 2007 - Msg 58398: Mr. Mad- Yes, I think "A Christmas Story" is hilarious. My sons ages 9 & 13 can't make it through the Holy Season without watching it at least 5 times. My only prob is there is 1 little boy with a slight potty mouth, but other than that it's great. My in-laws live in Ohio and the house it was filmed in is located in Cleveland. It was shown in their hometown paper on Friday. Apparently they have a little festival there with character look a like contests and everything.
MDC- Thanks for checking in.
MW- Your star sounds lovely. You already have up your tree?! Wow! My Mother is completely decorated. I haven't even located all of my stuff! How old are your girls?
In our travels from GA to OH and back we stopped at a couple of little towns. I fell in love. Sometimes I forget in all of my hustle and bustle of Atlanta that I love small towns. Just being in the town square evokes the feelings of our beloved show, TAGS. We stopped, near you Big Maude, in South Pittsburg TN to go to the Lodge Cast Iron outlet. At the stop lights there were Christmas bells ringing and the little town was busy. It makes me think of Mayberry. Everyone went to town to congregate and get the news. Hopefully someday we can move back. Has anyone else pulled out the Christmas episode?
Gotta run! I still need to finish unpacking.
Blessings,
~Lucy

November 25, 2007 - Msg 58402: Well, I plan on watching "A Christmas Story", because it's been so highly recommended by my friends here at the porch. I do wonder, however, since Tom, or Mr. Mad, has some bad things to say about it, that perhaps there is something questionable about it? Maybe Asa, or others that have watched it many times, could explain to me what Mr. Mad might be talking about? I'm still going to watch it (if it comes on in my area), but I am curious about Mr. Mads comments.
Yes, Lucy, I've gotten out my Christmas episode from TAGS, and watched it several times in the last few days. I love that one. I love the Christmas season! Although as far as gifts go, it is going to be really tight for our family this year, but I am still excited.

Hey Folks

SPOT- Ok, I'll drive, just put four studded winter tires on the old Sable. Who wants shotgun.

Hazel-I love the movie "A Christmas Story" a lot but I'll admit it does have a couple spot where the dialogue choices are a bit spicy. Nothing real bad. Like I said, I love the movie.

Lucy-Great to see ya again! Yes, we have had a little snow so far this year, maybe ten or twelve inches.

Hello porch family....I pray you all had a great Sabbath day. I sure did.

Lucy....good to see ya back. So glad your trip went well. We missed you.

Ro...sorry to hear about your little fish.

New N....get some rest...You sound tired.

Tom...no buddy, I've never recorded a Christmas cd.

Spot....hey brother...TN & LSU for the SEC. Should be a good game. LSU coming off a loss to Ark. Man my Gamec#cks loss the last 5 games after starting off the season doing really good. But even when they were winning, I said from the beginning of the season, we don't have a QB. And until we get one it's not going to get any better.

Well you all have a blessed night. Prayers for all the porch family.
-REV.

November 26, 2007 - Msg 58408: Good Morning all, glad everyone survived their holiday. Well my stove timer is beeping, baking cinnamon rolls so I'll stop back later after I frost them. We'll have rolls and hot chocolate.
Take care Peace Dr P

November 26, 2007 - Msg 58410: Good Morning porch family, hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving & week end. Back at work today after 4 days off. Sounds like the porch has been busy as well. It's raining today but not too cold. We continue to need the rain. Thanks for the cinnamon rolls and hot chocolate Dr. P. Todays lunch will be: BBQ sandwhiches, SLAW, chips and tea or kool aid to drink. Hey Rev, that was a long game Tn played on Saturday. I hope they have their heads in the game this week cause they are sure gonna need them. LSU will be tough to beat. We are finished with high school football for the season so now on to getting ready for Christmas. Kids have about 3 1/2 weeks left of school before Christmas break. Time sure goes by fast... wonder what causes that?? See you at lunch. Prayers and blessings to call. Big Maude

November 26, 2007 - Msg 58411: Good morning, all. Hey, REV, I was about to ask you the same thing Tom asked, about a Christmas CD. I figured you haven't done one, since you write your own music, but maybe you could make an exception for one CD? Maybe you could even get inspired to write a couple yourself. Not anthem-type carols, just those lovely narrative songs you do so well, with a Christmas theme. Knowing how you develop your music, I can picture you sitting in a mall, just listening to conversations, and finding an inspiration. I'd love to have such a CD. I think it would be lovely. I can just imagine it. "Away in a Manger" with a softly-strummed guitar, "Little Drummer Boy", "The First Noel", and others, and finishing up, of course, with "Silent Night".

Now there's Josh Groban and his amazing voice and style, and that's fine. However, your smooth and mellow voice, comfortable down-home style, and all the loving emotion that comes through in your music is just made for a sweet and beautiful Christmas album. I suppose there are a lot of legal considerations when using music you didn't write yourself, but wouldn't most Christmas carols be in public domain? I really wish you'd think about it - I'd love to have such an album in my car for next Christmas.

Well, my landscaper friend will be here in about half an hour, to move some roses, plant some others and just finish up what we couldn't finish last week. Guess I'd better go find my socks and get dressed. Starr is zipping around here like a tiny white whirlwind. She just ran through carrying a toy as big as she is in her mouth! Wish I had half her energy! She's so sweet. She's not my Plum, but she's awfully sweet. Everyone just falls in love with her. She's really cute.

Blessings, everyone! --Romeena

Morning porch family...Another day to serve our Lord!

Ro...thank you so much for those kind words. You're just too nice. And yes, I have thought about recording a Christmas cd. We've talked about possibly doing one in the future but just never got around to it. The only problem with that is, I take a lot of time off during the month of Dec to be with me family. Recording a cd is sooooooo expensive and to get your money back you have to move a lot of products. With me not doing a lot in Dec, well it's really hard to do it. Maybe one day though. We keep looking at all options.

Maude...thanks for lunch...I'll be there.

Dr.P....those cinnamon rolls were good. Fresh out of the oven...mmmmm

Gotta get going....Prayers for all the porch family...Have a Jesus filled day!

November 26, 2007 - Msg 58417: Good Evening Porch,
Hazel- Do you have TBS or TNT? They often play "A Christmas Story".
Rev- Maybe you should consider a Christmas album.
Tom- Yes, we had some lake effect snow, but it didn't stick. It was 65 the day before the snow! Do you miss Ohio? Your gum wrapper sounds really long!
Auh20- 12" is more snow than we see in 2 years here in Hotlanta! My family makes fun of me because everything I love has to do with snow. My screen saver is an old postcard of children playing in the snow in front of a church like a Rockwell painting.
Dr P- Okay, I'll add some extra bike riding for some cinnamon rolls! Please, please, pretty please?!
Asa- How's the Mrs today?
Big Maude- The days fly by once you get around 30. At least that's what I noticed. Tomorrow is my 31st birthday so life just keeps going on by.
Spot- What are breenbeans, wink!
My darling hubby bought us a new tree last night. Our other one the lights didn't work, so he went to the Man's store (Home depot) and bought a prelit blue spruce with holly leaves and pinecones. All I'll need to do is put up ornaments. No ribbons, yay! Sometimes you men are worth keeping around, haha.
Homemaker- I had Bryson's IEP meeting today and they basically told me that with his learning disability (processing problems) he may always need assistance. That was totally depressing to hear. I thought he was doing so much better. Is it true that around 10 years old some things just click for boys? Bryson is really trying, but the blending, memorizing, writing, and transitioning is really tough on him. Any advice to help him? They said that he has so much potential. His nonverbal IQ is way above average, but unless some miracle happens with the speaking and writing he will always be labeled with a learning disability. He's such a sweet and bright kid it breaks my heart.
Gotta run and clean up a bit before hubby arrives. Have a wonderful evening!
Blessings,
~Lucy
