Happy April everyone. I just love this time of year. And next week is Easter, time to celebrate the re-birth. Ain't life grand? Ain't God good?

Well off to the florist to order a dozen roses for the Mrs. It is our Anniversary on Monday. 29 big ones. Wow, I must have gotten married when I was 12!

Hope all my porch pals are well and enjoying God's springtime! *a-CHOO* Happy anniversary Asa! So, that makes Mrs. Asa 5 when you married her, right? ;)

March 31, 2007 - Msg 50869: Hey, Mrs. Wiley! It's good to see you. I was hoping those arms were all healed up and we hadn't seen you because you were so busy out doing stuff! Prayers for you, love.

Isn't it funny how just knowing about something changes everything? These nodules, or tumors, in the Plum's spleen have probably been there a very long time, but no one knew. Now that I do know, I don't even pat her very hard, for fear of rupturing the big old swollen thing, and I do all I can to keep her from jumping off something. Nothing has changed, except my own awareness.

Oh, there's one thing that I realized I haven't mentioned, and it's important. The radiologist said that in large dogs, tumors in the spleen are malignant most of the time. However, in small dogs, they're benign most of the time. So that's hopeful news, because she certainly qualifies as "small". She weighs just under ten pounds.

Asa, how sweet of you to get those roses for Mrs. Asa. A mullet and a toolbelt, and he brings roses, too. Wow!

Well, gotta run. My son's wife is having the grand opening of her new enterprise today. She owned a Curves salon for a couple of years, built up the business then sold it. Now she's opening an L.A. Boxing studio, of all things. No, she won't be doing any boxing, she has hired a manager and a trainer. She will just run the business part. Her plan is to develop the client base, then sell it at a profit again, like she did the Curves salon. Today's young folks amaze me. It would never enter my mind to start an enterprise like that, but she just jumps in with both feet. My son just stands back and watches her, and smiles. He loves her spirit.

Beautiful here today, after all the rain last night. Clear skies and lots of sunshine. So pretty! Sugarplum says hey! --Romeena

Boo and Asa, thanks for thinking of me. The banquet was a blessing. The Lord gave me calmness and helped me through. He is faithful!

Happy Anniversary to Mr. and Mrs. Asa! Ain't love grand?!

Hey Mrs. Wiley! Not sure that I've met you yet. Guess it's official now.

a smile, a hug, or just a handshske.
these things make the world go round.
a phone call or just a cheeful note

and spending time with children
as they learn, and as they play.

Miss Peggy

March 31, 2007 - Msg 50881: Hey, Tom. I'm so sorry that your family behaves so badly. Sometimes we just can't account for the way some people act. Just keep on being your sweet self, don't fight with them - instead, pray for them. It will make you feel better. And no, you can't pray for them to stub their toe! (I'll do that for you.)

My daughter-in-law had the grand opening of her L.A. Boxing gym today. Her mom and I went over for a couple of hours, and took the grandsons, ages 3 and 6 with us. Those two are a handful. Wish I had half their energy. The little one, as my son says, just "b#tches" all the time. Sorry, there's really just no other way to describe it. His glass is always half empty. His daddy gets all over him for it, his mom sends him to his room, his other grandma tells him to cut it out, and still he does it. Whiny, big old frown, drooping shoulders, the whole thing. Finally, I called him over and told him I wanted to show him something. He looked mildly interested, so I continued. I told him, "You're doing it all wrong. You have to curl your lip more, and wrinkle up your nose like this. Then you droop your shoulders until your knuckles drag the ground, and you talk real slow and high-pitched and draggy, liiikke thiiiiiis!" At first he got mad, then he let a tiny smile slip, and finally just started laughing. Did he stop the whiny-hiney stuff? Nope, but we at least got a laugh out of him for a while. Honestly, that kid! He's just a beautiful little boy, and can be so sweet, but he's in this whiny habit. And of course, his older brother picks at him, just to make him holler, and it works every time.

Well, I'm pooped. I think I'll put my jammies on, get comfortable, with a big old glass of tea, and cuddle the Plum for a while. She seems to be feeling just fine. I'll be so glad when we get past this huge pothole in the road of her little life.

She says hey! --Romeena

March 31, 2007 - Msg 50885: You are in our prayers, Happy Nut. So sorry about your accident, wish I lived closer so I could give you a hand.

Ro, my best friend's son went through a stage of the mopes, whines and bad att#tude for about 2 years when he was pre-adolescent, but now he is almost 14 and is a pretty cheerful fellow. Maybe your grandson will snap out of it. I had a little "mom fit" today when I took Sean (who turns 12 on Monday) to get him some shoes he wanted for his birthday. He started getting an att#tude after I bought them for him and I felt like someone lit a fire under me! Nothing makes me madder than that ungrateful, "never enough" attitude. I gave him the lecture of a lifetime...hope he remembers but I know how kids his age are. I am NOT liking alot of things about this adolescent period. Sometimes I wish I could move out into the middle of nowhere and live like the Ingalls. The kids would have to be happy with a candy cane and a tin cup for Christmas (and maybe a piece of fruit)!

I watched a really cute movie tonight with Erin called, Because Of Winn-Dixie. It was about a little girl and a stray dog. Have any of you seen it? It was really sweet. Oh...I didn't tell you about my experience on Thursday night! They had Ladie's Night Out at our church and we all met for dinner and a movie. It had already been arranged what movie we would see and the leader of our lady's ministry picked the movie (she had already seen it and thought it was funny). Well, the movie was WILD HOGS, with John Travolta and Tim Allen. It is not a movie you want to see with a group from church (or at all, maybe). Very crude humor, bad language and basically just not good. My opinion, but I felt bad after watching it. I don't appreciate very crude, mostly gay humor, thank you. I was really surprised that it was chosen for the group....the woman next to me said, "I sure am glad I'm not sitting next to the preacher's wife"! I guess I should have just walked out but I didn't have a ride home. I don't like to think of myself as a religious person and certainly don't want to force my convictions on anyone else but it seemed like a really poor choice to take a church group to.

Gotta get to bed, it's getting late and Erin will probably be up coughing again tonight...

April 01, 2007 - Msg 50888: Good morning friends. Happy April! I mean it this time. Isaid that yesterday not realizing I was a day early. Oh well, no one called me on it. What good people you are, not going to tell me I was WRONG! LOL.

Rev, you asked for prayers and you got em my friend. Hope all is ok for you.

Happynut, sorry about your fall and at such an important time with your Daughter visiting. I hope you recover quick.

Boo, I know what your going through with children and their stages of life. My only suggestion is to never give up or give into them. It is so important for them to realize the realities of life, and one of those realities is we don't get everything we want. In fact we should feel very blessed if we get everything we need. I tried to make sure when my kids were that age thet saw folks who were not as fortunate as they were. We went and served in various capacities at homeless shelters and what not. It taught them the idea that life was about serving one another while hopefully showing them how blessed they really were. I hope it helped. All 3 of them are pretty good young adults now, although 1 of them still puts to much emphasis on "things" rather than people, but she is still a very caring compassionate person. So don't give up.

Romeena, I'm glad that Sugarplum is not in any pain. I'll be happy when she can have her procedure done and all will be well. Prayers continue for you both.

Mrs. Wiley, Lord it's good to hear from you my Dear. I'm sorry your still having health issues, but your spirit still sounds strong. I hope you can visit us often. You are missed here much.

Same with you Des. It's nice to see you posting more. I'm green with envy! LOL

Spot, I'm on my way to IHOP pal. Hope yer wallet is full cause my belly is empty!

Hey Hodie, I'm still trying out the new board over there. Still not sure that I cotton to it or not yet. Good to see you.

Lucy, you are so right. Mrs Asa deserves a medal for putting up with me all these years. I'm no prize for sure.

Possum, how was the craft trip? Did you have fun? Now you can decorate your rock in style!

Well think I'll go watch some talking heads before heading off to preaching. There must be opposition in all things and that sure proves it listening to a politician and then listening to a man of God. :)

April 01, 2007 - Msg 50891: Good morning all. Pretty soggy on my end of the porch this morning! Needed the rain.

Boo, the situation you found yourself in (concerning the movie) is all too common in our churches today! The fact that you felt uncomfortable says that your heart and convictions were in the right place. Shame on the leader of the ladies group for picking a movie that was inappropriate for a Christian!
The Bible tells us to 'come apart and be separate from the world'. No wonder most lost people don't want anything to do with Christianity when they see many Christians living no different than them! I make it a policy to check out a movie on screenitdotcom before I decide whether to see it. Needless to say, I don't see many movies that come out today. You wouldn't have been wrong to walk out of the movie, Boo. It's time we all as professing Christians take a stand for what's right, even to the point of facing ridicule within the church(and we will!!). Well, that's my sermon for today and I'm sticking to it! By the way, Boo, I hope you know that I wasn't 'pointing a finger' at you, but addressing all of us that are Christians.

April 01, 2007 - Msg 50894: I saw "Wild Hogs" just last weekend. I liked it ok. It really didn't have that much bad language, and mostly was just a light-hearted, fun movie. I myself don't like a lot of swear words in movies, and I hate violence in movies; so I'm pretty picky. I guess what I thought was odd was that it had a pretty stupid story line. It totally seemed like "B" movie material, like low budget stuff. Which surprised me, considering the actors that were in it. That's my 2 cents worth.

April 01, 2007 - Msg 50905: Good one Hazel and Auh2o! Now why don't ya'll go wax the steps at the old folks home? heehee

Hazel, I agree that Wild Hogs seemed like a "B" kind of movie. I have to tell you the truth (I think you will believe me), I am not a "religious" person in the sense of judging others or demanding that others adhere to my own convictions. I'm the kind of person who knows how to have fun and loves to laugh but I found the crude humor in the movie offensive, especially while sitting with the women from the church (it just wasn't an appropriate situation). I am mostly referring to the scenes in which the wild hogs are sleeping on the mattress together when the gay cop shows up, and then later when the cop shows up at the swimming hole. Just gross. I was surprised when one of my young Sunday school students told me they saw it this weekend and thought it was good. Certainly not an appropriate movie for children, I don't think.

Been a long day and I still have to get my shower and get Erin to sleep. I have to drive to and from Houston tomorrow with Sean (an appointment with the Neurologist). Please pray for us. I am pretty tired and that is alot of driving for one day.

Ya'll have a good night!

Prayers for you REV.

April 01, 2007 - Msg 50907: Hey TOM!

Peggy, I forgot to thank you for your thoughts on the movie subject. Funny thing, it turns out that almost everyone who was there disliked the movie pretty strongly but none of us walked out of it. Guess we will be more careful about what we see next time. Usually if I go to a movie I am taking the kids to see a Disney movie or something, so I guess I was pretty shocked at Wild Hogs. I will check out that website you mentioned next time. Thanks,

Boo

April 01, 2007 - Msg 50908: Peggy, I looked up Wild Hogs on screenitdotcom and here is some of what they had to say: "...rated PG-13. Profanity consists of a possible "f" word, while at least 13 "s" words, other expletives, and a host of colorful phrases anre also uttered. S*xually related humor, including gay and homophobic material, and a brief bit featuring internet porn. Some men's bare b*tts are seen as they skinny-dip....men ogle young and shapely women in very revealing bikinis..." etc. Like I said, not a movie you want to see with "The Ladie's Aid Church Committee"! hehe

April 02, 2007 - Msg 50910: Good late evening, all. Just got home from the Easter pageant at church - very well done. Then out to dinner with some friends, brought over half of mine home, will have it for lunch tomorrow. Huge portions!

Guess what! My one and only granddaughter, who will be 25 on the 4th, called me this afternoon to announce her engagement, and (ooh, I'm so excited!) she wants to have her wedding here in my back yard, next spring. Isn't that just wonderful? I can hardly wait. I haven't met her fiancee yet, but I can tell a lot about him by her behavior. I think he must be very nice. I didn't care much for her former boyfriend, was delighted when she told him to get lost. She seems so much happier now, with this new guy. He's a Christian, and so is his family, so that's a very good beginning.

The Plum still seems to be feeling fine. Will be calling the surgical center in the morning to make her appointment. I guess they'll want to see and evaluate her first, then schedule the surgery. I'm so nervous about this - it just has to go well. I need my little friend. Besides, I think she'd make a good flowergirl for the wedding next spring, don't you? Maybe we could drag out her little refreshment wagon from the softball games, and decorate it with flowers, fill it with rose petals and all? What do you think?

April 02, 2007 - Msg 50913: Morning folks. Hope your weekend was good. Mine was great.

Great idea Romeena. I pray Sugarplum will be fine still. I hope they can get her in soon. Where is Granville Bennett when you need him?

Hazel, you got them early crops planted yet? I'm not messing with things till later in the month here. I have to many other projects going on. I will miss them fresh peas though.

Boo, Hazel, thanks for your thoughts on the movie. I very seldom go to the movies because there is very little stuff Hollywood produces that I enjoy. And I get annoyed to spend good money to see a movie only to be bored stiff, offended, or annoyed, so I just don't go as a rule. But I had seen the previews of this show and thought I might enjoy it. I like Tim Allen. But Hazels "B movie comment, and your thoughts on it has saved me 20 bucks and 2 hours.

Hey Tom, as long as your paying bills, hows about you pay mine too? Just kidding buddy.

Spot, did Sherry get all settled in? Does she like the new house?

Well off to work for me cause I don't know no better.

It's still a soggy day here in Georgia. Possum, hope some gets to you soon. The boys are home on spring break. We're planning on going to St. Simons Island on Wednesday, but we'll see. The highs will only be in the 60s and so we won't be able to hit the beach. So, we'll see.

Mrs. Wiley- It's nice of you to visit. I hope your arms continue to heal.

Poor Horatio- Where are you? Are you in Canada or the US?
Ahappynut- I'm so sorry you feel. Make sure you're keeping it iced. Also, maybe you should think of getting an ankle brace. Walmart carries some. I've had 4 ankle surgeries so this is kind of my specialty.
Tom- I'm sorry about your family. They beat all sometimes. You pray for them and we'll pray for you!
Romeena- Your grandson, the unhappy one, seems to be getting a lot of attention for his negativity. Why stop? He's got everyone right where he wants them. Nick has always been really negative. For years whenever he said anything negative I made him say 3 positives for 1 negative. That's wonderful about your granddaughter. You have a lovely garden and so she made the right choice. Still praying for the Plum.
Boo- Both of the boys have a touch of the ungratefulness monster. I think society does play a large role in this. Think of all of the businesspeople who constantly want more money, power, etc. Kids are always talking about what they have. Nick wants a cell phone. I told him he'd have to buy his minutes and he was offended. Bryan just spent $1k on a paintball trip and is taking him again in 2 weeks. Larry Burkett has a book about money for kids. I think I'm going to try that with the kids. Does Sean earn money? Maybe that will help if he has to buy all of his own clothing and toys. I know he's only 12, but I'm thinking that may be our next rule for my 9 and 13. Oh, Michaela and I loved Because of Winn Dixie.
Miss Peggy- There is another website called pluggedinonlinedotcom. It is from Focus on the Family. Thank you for your website recommendation. It's sad how much we have to censor our movies/shows.
Asa- I like your idea about shelters. It's wonderful that your children have grown up so well. Did you and the Mrs. have a nice anniversary?
Hazel- Isn't it funny how we can all have different interpretations about things we see? Did you get your container garden? Are you growing spinach? I thought that episode was a really good episode.
MDC- Is it scortching out there? Do you have a swimming pool at your house?
Well, I'd better get busy. After spending 9 hours yesterday getting our taxes done I feel I should relax today, but unfortunately I have boys that disagree! Y'all have a great day and act like somebody!
Blessings to you and yours,
~Lucy

April 02, 2007 - Msg 50915: Good morning everyone. I hope that you all had a good weekend.

It's been awhile since the Mrs. and I got to a movie. And it may have been to take the kids to see "March of the Penguins," which was great. I have to say, "Blades of Glory" looks pretty funny, though I know I won't spend the cash to see it in theaters. I also would like to see the movie about the hymn, "Amazing Grace." We rented "Cars" for the kids this weekend; it was pretty good. We use pluggedinonline, too, LUCY.

I laid a floor in the kitchen this weekend. Man, my legs are sore from all the up and down. And my poor scraped up knees. But the floor looks nice. It's a laminate, but not the wood kind; it looks like ceramic tile. It realy does look like tile, too, but easier on the legs.

Wishing you all a blessed Holy Week. Anybody going to Holy Thursday or Good Friday services?

Well, I'll try to stop back later for a real chat. Prayers continue for all that needs them.

April 02, 2007 - Msg 50917: Hey M-T . . .I'll pick up lunch for everyone. . .just a lite lunch though, a few ham salad sammiches, chips, pickles and some sweet tea. If I get the chance, I'll whip up a batch of meatballs for Asa - he must love them, he TALKS about them ALL the time! :)
Spring Break is over - how will I ever get through this 4 day week! Ha Ha
We just heard from the little soldier we adopted. Spot - he is from near Douglassville, GA. And he wants to end up being a chaplain in the Army. I am so thankful we did this. . .I hope we can keep his light going while he is helping others.

Opening Day for the Reds. . .Batter UP!

Me-They, my younguns saw "Blades of Glory" Saturday night and said it was pretty disappointing. I had rather high hopes for that one, too. (Loved Jon Heder in "Napoleon Dynamite.") But YMMV. :-)

Grilled some salmon last night and made rice w/slivered almonds and salads. That's about as fancy as I get!

April 02, 2007 - Msg 50919: Morning porch family! Just a quick hey to everyone. The back yard wedding sounds lovely, Romeena. I know it will be fun making all the plans. Hugs for Sugarplum!

Safe trip Boo. Let us know how it goes.

hm, would you tell me how you came about adopting a soldier? I must have missed that. Sounds wonderful.

Miss Peggy

April 02, 2007 - Msg 50920: Glad to hear it, HM. Lunch sounds yummier tahn the PB&J I brought today.

DES: Thanks for your comments. But what is "YMMV?" I'm not up on all my Roman numerals or all the internet/texting shorthand. Gotta admit, though, that "Napoleon Dynamite" had me scratching my head. I got it, but I didn't get it. I think Will Ferrell is hilarious in most things he does. He was great on SNL.

Mmm, salmon. Add a nice, cool green sauce (like dill) and I'll have to wipe off my keyboard for the drool.

April 02, 2007 - Msg 50921: Good morning, everyone. I just got home from my final post-op check on my eye, after having the cataract removed. All is well. Now I have to wait three more months before we can try to do the other one - the vision is still too good in it right now. You have to be nearly blind before Medicare will take care of it.

I may have given the wrong impression about my youngest grandson. He's a sweet little guy, but he's just convinced that woe is about to befall him at every turn, and he's generally ticked off about it. It's actually funny to watch this 3-yr old gripe about things, and be such a drama king, if there is such a thing. His daddy (my son) doesn't take much of it, and makes him either shape up or ship out to his room. I'm sure it's just a phase and will soon disappear, because it's not rewarded. He doesn't get what he's whining for, and he's sent away to his room, not allowed to rain on everyone else's parade.

Well, I think I'll try to catch a little nap before going out to see the Plum's surgery people. I have to work tonight, and was up very early this morning, so I need a bit of sleep, I think.

Sugarplum says hey!--Romeena

April 02, 2007 - Msg 50922: No, Asa, I don't have my early stuff in yet. My onions got delivered last weekend, and I have a 3 week window of time to get them in the ground, so I really need to get 'er done. However, Mr. Hazel has been sick, so I still don't have my garden tilled yet. And it rained all day yesterday, so it's pretty soggy out there. I'm hoping that 1. Hubby will be well enough to rototill it next weekend; 2. The sun will dry it out so it's able to be tilled; and D. That I have time next weekend to plant it. My niece is coming to visit from Seattle next weekend and what with Easter and all, it looks to be a busy weekend. Lucy, about the container gardening, since I have a regular garden, my container stuff is usually just for fun. I like to experment with what will grow in them. I did plant some peas about 2 weeks ago in 3 pots, and they just sprouted and came up out of the ground on Saturday. I've planted peas in pots before, over at my moms house, because she doesn't have a garden. They do pretty well. I also plant basil and cilantro in them, but it's too soon for that now. We'll probably get another frost or two before May.
Good luck at the surgeon, Romeena.

April 02, 2007 - Msg 50923:

M-T, that would be short for "Your Mileage May Vary." :-)

"Napoleon Dynamite" was really offbeat, but sweet in a way. The kids were pretty innocent by today's standards -- a refreshing change from the usual teenage movie junk. I think I got the biggest kick out of Kip, Napoleon's brother. I loved it when he went all gangsta. When he said "Now that's what I'm talking about" in that nasally twang, I howled!

I love dill on salmon. I'll have to make it that way next time. After I grilled it last night, I transferred it to the serving plate and drizzled it with clarified butter and a sprinkle of Old Bay. Hoo boy!

April 02, 2007 - Msg 50925: Who was that speeding through town? I think he was going 35.

DES: You're right about that movie. There was nothing (that I can remember, anyway) offensive in it, which is saying something. I just don't get the phenomenon of it, I guess.

Speaking of teen move junk, we were remembering some of the movies of our high school days (early-mid 1980s). Talk about trash. There is some really bad teen stuff out there, but not the volume of things we could recall, like "Spring Break," "Porky's," etc. It seemed like there was a neverending stream of teen movies then based on one theme (you can guess it).

Well, off to enjoy this beautiful day! Prayers for all. Check in, BOO.

April 02, 2007 - Msg 50926: Hi all,
Just checking in before anyone puts out an APB. No, I know I come here rather sporadically. It seems like I should have a lot of time, yet I don't. I don't know how to explain that one.

Wow Romeena, 3 yrs old seems way too early to be a cynic. He should be glad to be a kid. Too bad he can't see his life in about 30 or 40 yrs, then maybe he would wish he would have enjoyed his childhood a little more.

Hey Des, I liked Napoleon Dynamite as well, but I have a question related to it, that I hope some of you can possibly help with.
My brother, who is a youth ministry leader for his Nazarene Church, was totally against this film(Napoleon Dynamite), and I couldn't figure it out. It had no s@x, violence, or the like, and was just a goofy comedy in my book, yet he would go on about it like it was The Da Vinci Code or something(now that's one I never saw and have no desire to), and I just don't get it.
As (mostly)Christians here, is there something I am missing about this movie? Could it be because Jon Heder is Mormon? With all the terrible movies made nowadays, I would have thought that especially my brother would have liked a movie that wasn't made obscene just to get an R rating and corrupt the minds of our kids(some more).
I know, I should have asked him. And if I remember to, I will next time I see him.

Anyway, that's all from me for now.
Hey MDC, good to see you! Hope you are doing well.

April 02, 2007 - Msg 50928: Miss Peggy and all, we "adopted" our soldier through: SupportASoldier.org
I usually sent random care packages through AnySoldier.org (a wonderful site as well) but I was hoping to link up with someone who might respond to my boys. This private did with just our first letter. We are "required" to send a care package every other month (I have sent two in the last two weeks - one was for Easter). We are planning to send another at the end of the month. I try to write a letter of support once a week.

I haven't seen Napoleon Dynamite nor any of the movies listed above.. I see them when they are on the local cable movie networks. Once in awhile we go but it is so expensive once I buy tickets, popcorn, and drinks. I really want to see Facing the Giants and may buy it to send to our soldier guy.

Need to go -

April 02, 2007 - Msg 50929: Hi, friends... Just got home with the Plum from her evaluation at the veterinary surgical center. The surgeon agreed that there is no option, her spleen has to come out. He did not confirm what the radiologist had told me about smaller dogs having a lower likelihood of malignancy. He did say that about 2/3 are malignant, 1/3 are benign. I can only hope she'll be in the 1/3. I was hoping they could take her tomorrow morning, but they can't. It will be Friday, unless they get an opening sooner, in which case they'll call and I'll whisk her out there. So, please continue to pray for our little Plum. She seems to feel fine, and hasn't lost weight, so that is a good sign. Thanks, everyone. Sugarplum says hey! --Romeena

April 02, 2007 - Msg 50930: Hey, Ro, continued prayers for you and Sugarplum.
I am having a new set of problems, went to the doc today, they're doing a scan tommorow, it may be a new cancer. Lots of pain, and other weird symptoms at the site of my original cancer. Hubby is freaking out, so is my mom. I'm praying it's something they can remove or treat with radiation,(again) and not just related to all the cancer in my bones, for which they can do nothing.
I may be scarce for a few days. Thanks in advance for your prayers, friends.
Millie

April 02, 2007 - Msg 50931: My goodness, I don't know what to say. Millie, you certainly have my prayers. You have been through so much, as has your family. I just pray that all will be well for you.
Same for Sugarplum and Romeena. I pray she is in that 1/3 Romeena. These are tough days for sure. It breaks my heart to see my porch friends facing such crisis. May He bless you all.

April 02, 2007 - Msg 50932: Oh, Millie, my dear. I just can't find appropriate words. You have such courage and such a positive spirit. I am completely humbled by your strength and determination. Please know that you're in my prayers daily, and my Sunday School class prays for you as well. I will pray for relief of the pain, and for the eradication of the new cancer, if that's what it is, as well as for the remission of the cancer in your bones. It's so hard to understand, why this is happening. I guess we'll all just have to trust, and to be inspired by your faith and courage. --Romeena

April 02, 2007 - Msg 50939: Evenin' Porch,
Tom- That's lovely. God is (hopefully for us all) our dearest friend.
Millie- I'm sorry for your pain. I am praying for you right now. Lord, rest your hands on our dear Millie. Lift her up and cradle her during her trials. Heal her of her cancer and make her whole. Help her family deal with her illness. Amen.
Homemaker- I'm sorry for your friend also.
Romeena- Thank you for keeping us up on with the Plum. Prayers she will heal well and quick.
Goodness gracious, there's so much illness on the porch.
Rev- Yay Braves! It's too early to tell what kind of season they're gonna have.
Asa- I took Bryson to see a show. There was a rather large man who is what you might call akin to Briscoe with a big dress playing Miss Muffet. It was hilarious. They called him Asa! Sorry if that offends you, but it was a hoot!
Me-They- How's the Mrs. Work situation going?
Hey to Spot, Big Maude, Mavis, Mrs. Wiley, Miss Peggy, Sterling, Auh20, MDC, and all. Have a relaxing evening!
Blessings,

April 02, 2007 - Msg 50940: Thank you for that timely poem, TOM.

We are back from Houston and all went well, no changes in medication or anything. Thank you for your prayers, they mean so much.

I think Asa summed it up when he said it is heartbreaking to see our friends endure such trials. Even though it is heartbreaking, it is a privledge to perhaps somehow share the burden and to pray for those we love here on the porch. Millie, we are so concerned and will continue to pray for you and your family. May the Lord comfort all of you as only He can. We love you much.
