Wow! Rev, you're good. You're downright ept! I love your music, thanks for pointing us to the samples. I'll be ordering.
Spot, the dish is not new to me. I've had it for several years, and have had a DVR receiver in my bedroom, and a HD receiver in the living room. What I had installed today was a HD-DVR in the living room, traded my old HD receiver for it. It does everything but cook dinner, and I just have to learn how to manage all those fancy features. I got my "favorites" list all set up already - it's not all that complicated.
I've got an appointment with a neurologist tomorrow, to see about the numbness that comes and goes in my hands, and to see if she can do anything about this misery in my back. I'm pretty sure I know what she's going to say, though - "You're no spring chicken anymore, you know!" I just may smack her if she does. I know how old I am, and I don't need to pay her to tell me! (Grumble, gripe, grumble.) Well, it's worth a try, anyway.

Mornin' Porch,
Its nice and sunny here today. Bryson and I are going over to a our old homeschool groups swim party. I may not be homeschooling any longer, but they're still our friends. What's everyone else doing today?
Hubby leaves for Chicago this afternoon. Its always nice to have the peace and quiet at first, but by Saturday night I'm a bit lonely.
Romeena- Good look with the neurologist. Hopefully its not anything big.
Me-They- Hashbrown casserole!
Boo- Welcome back!
I need to get our things ready to leave. I'll check in tonight. Y'all have a wonderful God-filled day!
Blessings to you and yours,

Morning dears.
Charlotte, so good to see you and sorry to hear about your Mom. She will be in my prayers for sure.
Welcome back Boo. Missed ya. Sorry your trip wasn't more relaxing. I think you just missed seeing my tool belt.:)
Poor Horatio, thanks for the cymbal lessons. I'll be working on the timing.
Rev, great sounding songs there. If you ever do anything from the lite classics, let me know. And yes, I have heard Mavis sing, and yes she certainly has a high roof to her mouth. She is very talented.
Ro, I got one of those DISH dvr's. Just love it. I especially love how easy it is to record shows.
Spot, whats for lunch today? I can't stand to miss a meal. I get meaner than bear backed into a beehive.
MDC, How's the new job going? I saw you had some dust storms there yesterday. We did too. More expected today.
I see we got one of the top dogs in Iraq last night. A very good thing that I have heard the mainstream media today trying really hard to down play. These folks are truely amazing.

June 08, 2006 - Msg 38890:
Thanks for the "welcome back", Mavis. Although the trip wasn't restful, we still had alot of fun. Part of the problem was a lack of sleep. The first night in that cabin was like something out of "Deliverance"...that banjo theme kept playing in my mind all night. Also, the cabin was on "Hatchett Hill" and the date was 6-6-06, so the kids got pretty freaked out the first night. We were so out in the middle of nowhere in the trees that my cell phone wouldn't work and we were basically cut off from civilization. We had a fire outside to roast marshmallows but the kids didn't even want to be outside after dark! It was pretty funny. The second night we were all too tired to care and since we weren't murdered the first night we figured all would be ok the second. At that point I was so tired that if anyone had come to murder me I would have slept right through it. Anyway, I sure slept well in my own bed last night.
Busy day today. Ya'll have a good one...

Hey gang - sounds like the porch has been a busy place the last few days.
Prayers for Charlotte's mom, Mavis, and the rest of ya.
Congrats on your 25th, Charlotte, that's a feat in itself this day and age.
M-T: Everything is doing well with the baby - got about 5 and half weeks to go. How's your Mrs. been feeling lately? We don't have central air either, but hubby finally got a window unit in since it's going to start being 90+ on a regular basis. Bless his heart.
Sounds like everyone's been doing a mess of cooking around here lately - good thing porch food has no calories. ; )
We got one of those HD-DVR's a few months ago - it's real handy. We had to keep an eye on our 5 yo daughter right after we got it - she'd be recording all her shows left and right.
Ro - hope all goes well at the Dr.'s. Maybe if the Dr. only charged 5 bucks to tell you that you weren't a spring chicken that would soften the blow a bit. ; )
Well, I better get back to doing some "spring cleaning". Expecting company from Saturday til Wednesday, and the place has got to look ship shape.
Talk to ya'll later

Good Morning.
VBS and summer classes are keeping my hands tied! But next week I plan to take it a little slower ;)
So anyone want some exciting news from my life? Well, I am a grown woman and I have a crush ;) Seriously now. There is this fellow who is a friend of some of my friends and I have found myself with a slight crush on him. Funny huh? I haven't had a crush in years. Oh I have been attracted to other fellows but no this qualifies as a crush, you know the kind where people tease you b/c they think he likes you and you get all embarassed and blush... like it was in highschool.
Isn't that funny? I think so at least.
Anyway, nothing too new to report over here. OH! Did I tell you guys our church is remodeling our sanctuary? It should turn out pretty nice. We are extending it for more seating and just completely redoing it. The new windows are in.
Gotta go write a paper now.

To Barnwannabe, there were two messages posted right after your first post (Msg 38840) explaining things around here. Although they been archived now, since you probably don't know how to access them, I am posting them again below.
----------------------------------------------
Hello, BARNWANNABE, and welcome to the Front Porch. This message board is modeled after the Taylor's front porch where folks could relax ("What's your hurry?") and chat with friends. We all share a love of TAGS and discuss the show from time to time, but more frequently discuss other things important in our lives. Basically, this is a forum for making new friends in the spirit of Mayberry. You're welcome to grab a rocker and join us, anytime. The only rules (besides not writing on walls, as it takes a lot of work to erase writing off of walls) are to be courteous, kind, and don't misrepresent yourself. In other words, "act like somebody." Welcome!
Me-They
-------------------------------------------------
To Barnwannabe Msg 38840, welcome. Here are more points I would like to add to what Me-They has posted about this place.
When you post a message, you have to contend with two things: the message censor and Floyd. The message censor will catch most potential offensive words and require you to eliminate them before your message will get posted. But even if your message is offensive and the censor does not catch it, Floyd, our host here, will make an appearance and make your message disappear. Also, whenever someone does post something offensive (and before Floyd eliminates it), we will call for a BIG FREEZE. That basically means everyone ignore the offender. They come here for a reaction but we don't give them any.
Most people here post using a nickname based upon a character or something inanimate that appeared in The Andy Griffith Show. But you can choose any name, or use your own name.
If you look at the bottom of this page, you will see an ARCHIVES link. Clicking on that, you can read all of the old posts dating from a few days ago up through many years ago.
Have fun posting and reading our posts.

I hope this helps. Feel free to ask more questions.

One more point for you Barnwannbe. As the number of posts grows on this page, at a certain point (only known by our host Floyd), this page will automatically get archived and a new blank page will be created. We refer to this "sweeping the front porch". Anyone can trigger a sweep, even you! But it's automatic so there is nothing extra you have to know about it. As I mentioned before, to see the archives, click on the ARCHIVES link at the bottom of this page.

Good morning everyone! Glad that you are back safe and sound, if not rested, BOO.
What am I, a short order cook?!? Okay, its country ham (SPOT) and hash brown casserole (LUCY) today, but next time it's Wheaties, apple juice and a banana, unless we eat out.
ROMEENA: I resent the photos and put my handle in the memo section so's you'll know it's from me. I understand perfectly about wanting to keep the garbage out of the house, so to speak.
FLOYD or anybody "in the know": Speaking of sweeping and porch and archives, has anyone else noticed that the last sweep has caught up the archives listings for this year up with last? If I understand correctly, the porch sweeps after a certain capacity is reached. If that's true, does that mean that as of today we have already yacked, chatted, and gossiped as much this year as we did all of 2005?
BARNWANNABE: I enjoyed "Mayberry RFD" as a kid, but haven't seen any episodes for about twenty-five years so I'm not sure how'd I enjoy it now.
DIXIE: I hope the young man you have a crush on is worthy of your affection. I hope that the renovation to your church doesn't spark a raise the sanctuary/buy choir robes debate. But if it does, suggest a pool table.
Hope you all are having a great day! Today is my last day at work before leaving for vacation so I have a lot of work to do. I'll try to stop back later this afternoon.

June 08, 2006 - Msg 38907:
AFD: I forgot to mention that the Mrs. is doing okay, but getting a little uncomfortable. The baby has decided to move into place (head down), which is good, but also not the most comfortable for mom. The only other problem she is having are the ocassional cramps (normal) and ankles swelling after she's worked (she is still doing three twelves a week). She is set on working until the baby comes in order to maximize her time off later, and, even though I don't necessarily agree, defer to what makes her happy. With our son, who was two weeks early, she went into labor about lunchtime (right after she went to sleep) after working her normal shift the night before. Since we are having the baby in the hospital where she works, I told her timing was a little off. Funny story, I was at work at the time but some contractors were working on an addition to our house. Well, when the Mrs. went into labor she was cool as a cucumber but by the time I got home to pick her up the contractors were completely freaked out by the whole thing. I think they were afraid they'd have to deliver the baby or something!

June 08, 2006 - Msg 38908:
What a funny story, Me-They! I can just imagine those guys running around with their toolbelts on, trying to figure out if pliers could be used as forceps, and all scared to death. Why do men get so terrified at the thought of a baby being born? It's a natural process, women do it all the time! Remember how shook up Quiet Sam was, and he's usually so calm and laid-back. Where is he, anyway? Haven't seen him in a while.
Oh, your pictures made it and I didn't zap them this time. Thanks for re-sending, and they're now in the album. I must say, if the new baby is just half as cute as those other two, it will be adorable.
Well, guess I'd better rattle my bones and get a few things done around here before I have to go to the neurologist. Thanks for the good wishes, folks. I don't think this is anything serious, probably truly just that I'm no spring chicken anymore, but it pays to check it out.
Welcome, Barnwannabe. Read those archives, go back a couple of weeks, and you'll know more than you want to know about this porch and the slightly nutty folks who inhabit it. Sugarplum says 10-4. --Romeena

Colonel Harvey's elixir, hmmm? Might not be a bad idea. I don't even allow rum cake in the house, but that elixir, that's like a medicine, right? Right? Of course it is!
On a more serious note, I'm going to reserve my rejoicing at the eliminating of Al-Zarqawi for a little while. The picture shown on MSN's news page on Internet Explorer does not look like a dead man to me. If that's truly him, and he's truly dead, then he's the first person I ever saw who died with his eyes and mouth closed. Not to be gruesome, but I think the other nurses on the porch will concur - that's not how it goes. That's one of the challenges we face when preparing a recently-deceased patient before the family enters the room, and it's not easy! I've always gotten a chuckle out of movie deaths, where the cowboy gasps out his last words, then closes his eyes, clamps his mouth shut and rolls his head to one side. Big sigh, and he's gone. Fiction, folks, pure fiction.
Well, enough of that. I sincerely hope he's been eliminated (exterminated applies here, that's what you do to vermin, isn't it?) but I'm not going to celebrate just yet.
Sugarplum says 10-4. --Romeena
June 08, 2006 - Msg 38911:
I've dug a little further into MSN's news site, and seen a couple of other pictures, one much more believable. Also, it's always possible that some attention had been paid to making the terrorist leader's body a bit more picture-presentable. I suppose even scum like him deserve that much. So okay, maybe he really is dead. Maybe. I guess I'm just a skeptic at times. I don't believe everything I read in the papers. In fact, sometimes I don't believe it BECAUSE I read it in the papers! --Romeena

Hey to the PORCH! Hope ya'll are doing well! Welcome to the new folks, I just love it when the porch is full!
Ro...I know I heard this morning that they 'prepared' things a bit before they allowed the pics. Two 500lb bombs could mess a feller up, and they didn't want to 'in-humanize' his body. Now...good word or not...that's one of those differences in us and the terrorist folks..They'll attack a funeral or a group of kids being given candy and snacks, but we want to show respect for all human life...no matter how rotten to the core they are.
Ooos...somehow found myself standing on a soapbox...sorry about that. :-)
M-T, when is your Mrs due? And I think I remember Floyd taking down the size of the files that triggers the archives. Maybe that's the reason we're sweeping so often?

Hi, all. Warren, I guess Jim left the show because he had the chance to do "Gomer Pyle, USMC". As I recall, that was mentioned in one of the last interviews, I guess the one after Don Knotts passed. I think I remember him saying that he had the offer, and Andy encouraged him to go ahead and take it.
My appointment with the neurologist went well. She is something else. I went in at 1:30, and she finally finished up at almost 5:00. She did a nerve conduction study, and when it was finished, she printed out graphs of the results and sat down with me and went over everything, step by step. When was the last time you had a doctor do that? Anyway, the result is that I need a carpal tunnel release (surgery) on the right wrist, and eventually on the left. She ordered an MRI to try to find out why I have so much pain in my lower back. I guess that will be done next week. And bless her heart, she didn't say one word about spring chickens!
My goodness! All this talk about new babies - what fun! I can hardly wait to see the little critters - it's time we had some new young'uns around here. Asa, how's that little grand-sprout of yours coming along?

MDC, believe it or not, when we were all gathered together in that scary cabin during my vacation, we (all 8 of us...2 adult and 6 kids) piled onto the bed and I told "The Golden Arm"! I'll bet that is no big surprise to you. Isn't it amazing how much TAGS is a part of our everyday lives?
Today was a tough day for me, very busy and very HOT! It is still in the 80's here at almost 10pm and the humidity, horrid! I had another one of those gut-wrenching experienced today but this time it didn't involve an animal, but a child. I was in town doing some shopping and when I was in the parking lot I saw a woman abusing her little boy who looked to be about 3. I saw her slap him HARD and as she was yelling at him he tried to back away from her as she was trying to put him in he car so she grabbed him by his hair as she was putting him in. It was awful to see, that woman was so full of anger it was like she was ready to explode on that poor kid. I got her license number and watched until the kid was safely in the car and then I went home and reported her to child protective services. I hate to do that but I figure if she is doing that in a public place she is probably doin much worse at home. I pray she gets some help before something terrible happens. I seem to find myself in these kinds of positions alot, does it seem that way or is it just me being paranoid?
Glad you didn't get the "spring chicken" routine, RO, sounds like you have a good doctor there. Sorry you will require surgery, though.

Boo, good for you caring enough to report that abuse. Stuff like that makes me just boil. And to many folks don't want to get involved when they see it. Your a good hearted woman.
Ro, little Mariah is doing wonderful. Putting on some weight at last. She was such a tiny little peanut (her nickname). She will have to go in for a hernia surgery in a few months I guess, but they say it's nothing serious. Thank you for asking.
Floyd, I have not had any problems getting on here except for once earlier in the week, but several boards were down so I think it was a server problem. I have been having a hard time getting on the new Gossip Club page. It takes a while to load and I often get a time expired screen. Is that a problem with my system? I would love to get on there and offer some help if I could.
Millie, don't over do at work now. Moderation in all things. Pace yourself.

Romeena, has that light started doing much yet? My wife put one on her pond a few years ago without much luck. I didn't want to disuade you from it cause it might work out.
Big Air show here this weekend. We have the Air Force Thunderbirds in town and a host of older W.W.2 planes on display, including a B-24 Bomber and (my favorite) a P-51 Mustang fighter. I surely do love them old birds. Living history to watch them fly.
Hope you all have a good evening.

Evenin', well Mornin' Porch,
Its 1am and I can't sleep. Are ya workin' tonight Spot or Millie? Thanks y'all for the prayers for hubby and I. I have Bryson sleeping in my bed, but its not the same as hubby. I'm so apprehensive about being here by myself that I wouldn't let Bryson spend the night with a friend! I've never spent much time to myself. I went straight from my parents house to the dorm room, dorm room to hubby's house with kids as soon as we got married. I'm one of those people who is in the house with the radio or tv on for background noise.
I have a question. Do y'all believe in regrets? I was reading the sequel to The Notebook called The Wedding by Nicholas Sparks. Its about a man who got wrapped up in his work and neglected his wife. He forgot their 29th wedding anniversary and she drifted away from him even further. He's saying that he regrets not spending time with his wife and their children. He regrets not being romantic with his wife.
I always thought there are no things as regrets because that's the way God intended life to be. Are regrets the same thing as being tied to the past?
If I really think about it I have regrets in my life such as getting pregnant out of wedlock, but then I wouldn't have Bryson. Are regrets glass half-empty?
I guess at 1am I'm a bit philosophical. You don't have to answer if you don't want to, but I thought I'd throw it out there.
Well, I'm going to read something a glossy to try and get to sleep.
Blessings,
~Lucy Matthews

Yep, Asa, I've got clear pond water now. It took about four days to start seeing some improvement, but once it got so I could dimly see the bottom, it only took another day and the water is clear. I'm just amazed. To go from pea soup to clear in under a week, and no chemicals? I can hardly believe it. You said your wife didn't have the same experience. If you'd like, email me with the volume of the pond, the wattage of the UV light, and the capacity of the pump - there may be an answer there. I've learned a little bit about these things recently.
Boo, I agree that Me-They is a very nice and very accommodating feller, but to give credit where credit is due, it was Poor Horatio who copied the posts for Barnwannage. Just for the record....
I admire you for speaking up about that woman mistreating that poor little kid. I'm not above delivering a swat to a padded little rear, in order to make a point with a capricious child, and when the occasion merited it, my kids received old-fashioned spankings. Not beatings. There is a difference. However, slapping a child is never okay, and is dangerous, not to mention humiliating for the child. Also, most people, including children, react to a slap with anger, so it's counter-productive. You're right, if she'd do that in public, who knows what she's doing behind closed doors? If nothing else, a visit from CPS might wake her up.
I took my grandsons to the grocery store while they were visiting - only needed three things so I didn't get a big basket, but carried one of those little ones. The 2 1/2 yr old ignored my instructions to stay beside me (no free hands, couldn't hang onto him) and took off down an aisle. I called him back, he came then took off again. Repeat X 3. Third time, I put my purse in the little basket, thus freeing a hand, and started toward him. He immediately put his hands over his rear end, and jabbered "sowwy, sowwy, sowwy (sorry) as I approached. Tell me he didn't know he had done wrong? When I got to him, I swatted his well-padded backside one time, very smartly, and proceeded to lead his bawling little self toward the checkout. When I got there, and had to release his hand, you can bet he didn't leave my side. That was discipline, not abuse. I'd rather swat him than have him snatched from the store. "Whom the Lord loveth, He also chasteneth."
Well, that's just my take on things. Sugarplum says 10-4. --Romeena
June 09, 2006 - Msg 38940:
Lucy, darlin', everyone has regrets. We all do impulsive things, willful things, make poor choices, make mistakes. It's human nature. God has nothing to do with that. He made a perfect world, and intended it to remain that way, but He gave us a free will, so we could love Him voluntarily, not like a bunch of robots. We use that free will wrongly at times, and make mistakes. God doesn't cause it, but He permits it. Regrets aren't negative (glass half-empty) nor are they "being tied to the past". Regrets are normal and natural, and could be said to be a sign of growth and maturity, because you have to grow and mature before you can look back and recognize a mistake as a mistake. Regrets are a normal outgrowth of that process. Besides, even God Himself had some regrets. Read the story of Noah and the Flood one more time. Does it not say that God repented that He had made mankind, and decided to just wash the Earth clean of all of us willful, sinful beings? He found only Noah who was worth saving, and He saved Noah's family out of compassion for Noah.
Sweet girl, don't beat yourself up over regrets, and don't dwell on them. Recognize them for what they are - the manifestation of a lesson learned - and move on. I regret every moment that I did something else rather than focusing my attention on my husband, because he's gone now and I can't do that anymore. But imagine how tired he would have become of me if I had camped on his trail every moment of every day. I regret every sharp word I ever said to him, but truth be told, he deserved some of them! (teehee) It's life, honey. We're not perfect beings, and in our imperfection we have made this an imperfect world. But one day, God will make all things new, and He will wipe away every tear from our eyes. Isn't that wonderful?

About regrets, ROMEENA writes, "...the manifestation of a lesson learned". That is very wise counsel and she is right. Certainly God allows us to have regrets and even uses them in the life of the Christian to change us for the better. I think it is funny that you would ask that question because I discovered a very big regret yesterday during my counseling with the psychologist. I will have to give you some background so you will understand; my dad was married once, before he met my mom. He was just out of the Navy after WW2 and he met Martha (his first wife) and they started dating. Martha became pregnant with my oldest brother Jerry so she and Dad married (that is just what you did back then, no questions asked). A year later, they had my brother David. When the boys were about 2 and 3, Martha decided she was too young to be a mother and wanted to pursue a career so a decision was made to divorce. Martha and Dad were never in love and were and still are friends today so it was a friendly divorce with the stipulation that Dad be allowed to raise the boys if he agreed to return them to Martha their last year in highschool so she could educate them in California with her. Well, when the boys were about 6 and 7 my mom and dad married and soon had my sister, 5 years later I was born. So, my brothers lived with us until I was about 4 or 5 and then one day, they both just left. My parents didn't tell me anything, in the mind of a child they just went away. It was like they died and it really hurt me. Something kind of turned off inside me at that time and I never really regarded them after they left and even to this day I see them every few years but we have no relationship. No letters, no phone calls, no emails, nothing, no relationship. When I realized this yesterday, I had regrets! Now you might think, well, if they wanted to have a relationhip with you they would make the effort, but the fact is that has been a poor excuse over the years for me giving up. They are almost 60 now and I missed so many years. It really grieved me to think of it because they were very important to me as a child and then they were just gone. Mt counselor told me that it isn't too late and I realize he is right. I am going to start building a relationship with them. So, regret was a good thing for me to discover because I know it will lead to something very good. Sorry to be so long-winded but I really wanted to share that with you, Lucy.
Thanks RO, for sharing from the heart. That was beautiful. Yes, you are awesome and very much loved by your friends here.

Romeena- I really value your opinion and know that you will give me a well thought out answer that will really hit the nail on the head. One more question though. Would you want to change your relationship with your husband?
Boo- Thank you for sharing your story. Its wonderful that you're turning a regret into a positive. It will probably take some time and patience, but I will pray that your relationship with your brothers can be mended. It sounds as if the psychologist is really helping you. I'm proud of you!

To Romeena 38932, I'm glad your doctor's visit resulted with a diagnosis that you can handle.
To Boo Msg 38935, I commend you for getting involved regarding the child abuse that you witnessed.
To Lucy Matthews Msg 38938, I do believe in regrets. They are brought on when I think about opportunities that I have passed on, and mistakes that I have made, and things I would do differently if given another chance. And as Romeena said in Msg 38940, God gave us a free will. So there will always be regrets. If you have any regrets concerning your relationship with your husband, find a relaxed time to talk with him, and ask him if he's happy. Discuss what he reveals. Then make known your feelings and discuss them. I do this with my girlfriend on a regular basis. You just might find that the biggest regret you have is worrying about regrets.
To Romeena Msg 38939 ... thank you! And your Msg 38940 sure packed a powerful message. You sure are a smart lady! Glad you are on our side.

Hi there, this here's Hazel checking in. My computer died about 6 weeks ago (it couldn't have been very old... oh well, they say only the good die young). I'm on my mothers computer right now, and thought I'd sit in my rocking chair a little bit. Welcome to the newcomers. (Watch yer foot, I'm rockin' forward).
This past Sunday, we had to have our beloved Boder Collie, Molly, put to sleep. We had her for 12 years, and I can't tell you all how much I miss her. She was an outdoor dog, and the back yard just seems so darn empty. When I would sit outside, or do yard work, she would always gently drop her tennis ball by my feet. She loved to play ball. I have a fenced-in garden, and when I'm out there she liked to pace back and forth, in a figure 8. Kinda like she was keeping me herded in, or something. I hope the grass never grows in where she wore it down! She was such a good dog. I guess that's all I'm going to say about that.
I too have noticed that the archives fill up quicker every year, and I think it's because people say a lot more now than when the porch first started. And also we have a lot of visitors this year who posted when Don Knotts died, and it seemed like the porch swept every day around that time.
Anyhow, take care everybody. I'll check in again next time I'm near a computer.

Aww, you all are making me blush. Poor Horatio, thank you, but I'm not smart, just old. I've traveled a long road, and it has had its share of hills and valleys, potholes and mudslides, and thank God there have been enough "pullovers" where my husband and I could just stop and enjoy the view for a while. That's so important.
Lucy, you asked if I would change anything about my relationship with my husband. Yes, of course I would. I'd be more patient, more supportive, more perceptive. I'd be more appreciative, and less demanding. I'd put him first more often, maybe even all the time. At least I'd like to think I would do those things. In reality, if I could go back and re-live those 38 years, he and I would probably both do things about the same way that we did. That's who we were at the time, and we were very happy. It's only from the perspective given to me by his death that I look back and wish I had done those things differently. It's easy to remember him as almost saintly, but these days I'm not picking up dirty socks or cleaning a grubby bathroom sink. Time has a way of blurring all those things, and all that comes through is the good memories and the happy times. I know he wasn't perfect - he was a man, flawed and imperfect as we all are - but I loved him deeply and he loved me. Trust was complete. We were best friends, and I shall never stop missing him. So, to answer your question again - yes, there were things I'd like to change, but if given the chance, I seriously doubt anything would be different. Long ago, I dismissed any regrets I might have had, knowing I can't change anything now, and brooding about them is useless. I know he was happy, and he would not want me to remember our marriage with anything but joy. And oh, what joy there was!
Sugarplum says she misses her daddy, too. She loved him very much. He got her for me, but she bonded closely with him, and grieved bitterly when he died. --Romeena

Deputy Warren Msg 38964 & 38965, I faintly recall a Barney and Ollie back in the past. But I have no idea where they are. In the 1990's, I made a list of everyone's nickname here on the Front Porch. The lyrics of the song go like this: "Sometimes the snow comes down in June. Sometimes the sun goes round the moon. Just when I thought our chance had passed, you went and saved the best for last." Does that ring a bell with you....I am thinking maybe it was a Disney movie??
