Just makes me laugh! Hey to everyone..and auh20...I agree, we do know the resolve and spirit of the one in leadership today...and I'm real glad he's there. There are things I don't always agree with, but all in all...he's my pick! GO GW!

Happy Birthday SRM! I hope you get everything your heart desires! And thanks for your input on the dog thing!
About that, we saw the puppy and his parents yesterday. Cute, but what puppies aren't cute?! Actually they all had pretty good dispositions from what I could tell. It's getting harder to argue against adopting it and getting a cat instead, and Lord knows I've tried. :) The only problem is, since my wife is allergic to most dogs and cats, she would need a cat that is less allergenic, and I understand those are the more exotic cats and thus more expensive. Like, if this cat were a car it would be a ferrari compared to a regular cat, or the automotive equivalent being a Dodge Dart.

I had to attend a funeral today of a very dear friend of mine & it has really taken alot out of me. Brenda was 42, our fiddle player's wife of just over a year. She leaves behind 2 precious boys, 13 & 6. She was told she had brain cancer about 2 months ago & we were all devastated. The worst part of it all, the boys lost their dad 3 years ago to the same thing & adding to that, she passed away on her oldest son's birthday. I was doing ok holding it together today until the 6 year old started crying and asking for his Mama, & I lost it. Brenda was such a wonderful, precious soul & I will miss her terribly. Please keep her husband & those precious boys in your prayers. I know I don't ever want to go thru anything like this again anytime soon. Heartbreaking day to say the least. Thanks for letting me cry on your shoulders. Feels good to get some of it off my chest without crying so hard. My eyes are swollen & I have a pretty bad migraine caused I'm sure from all the crying. BEWARE OF ANDY DVDS.
Hey Friends,
Jimmy the goat here. It's been a while. Well, I've had some stuff going on, so I haven't been around. I was just online, checking out some Andy DVD's, and I saw one advertised, 'brand new episodes," and it was selling for $21. So I looked at it...friends its the same episodes that are already out there. There's a ton of TAGS dvds out there, but if you look, they've all got the same episodes, like Loaded Goat, Andy Discovers America, Barney's First Car, and Dogs, Dogs, Dogs. Well the DVD I looked at, had the episodes listed under other names. For instance, they call "Dogs, Dogs, Dogs," by the name "Dog Gone Opie," and "The English Butler." So the episodes aren't even listed by their correct names. To me, thats unprofessional, and I'd stay clear. I have to wonder what kind of quality they are. And let me tell you, I've gone through 2 different Andy DVD's, and the pic quality on them wasn't as good as my VHS. Believe me, I learned the hard way. THE BEST TAGS DVDS are available at Weavers, or at any of the shops in Mt.Airy, NC. The very best TAGS DVD as far as picture quality and theme music (thats right, some of the TAGS DVDS, don't have the theme music, but some instrumental version of it), but the very best I think is the one with Barney on the cover, with a big number 16 (16 episodes) in the corner, available at Weavers. Hope this helps. Have a Mayberry Day, ya'll.

Hi, everyone! I hope you're having a Mayberry day. I have a question. I have a collection of Andy Griffith Videos from Columbia House, but I'm not sure if I have the complete set. Does anyone know how many tapes that the Columbia House set contains?
THanks

When all else fails, I go Googling.....
I searched around and found this from the eBullet:
We also want to alert you that we've added some new items to our Special Items section at Weaver's. We've added 19 of the 20 four-episode VHS videos that Columbia House has made so far.

So it looks like there have been 20 made, at least as of last June....

Welcome, Les Bell. We hope you feel at home here and will sit and visit with us often. This is an expandable porch - whenever we need to add a rocker or two, why we just push the sides out a bit, and everybody fits!
Spot, I declare I can't even read your posts without my blood sugar going skyward! MMMMmmMMM! It all sounds so good. Possum, I can't imagine wasting perfectly good grits by rollin around in them! Wby honey, that's a pure shame. Instead of pollutin' those grits, folks should be eatin' them! Ham and grits, pork chops and grits, bacon and eggs and grits, grits and grits, just nothing quite so homey and comforting as good hot grits!
Mavis, I'm so sorry about your friend, and that's just heart-breaking for those kids and the husband. Some things are just so hard to understand. I've finally learned that sanity lies in being able to cease trying to get my mind around the situation, and let the One who does understand take over and handle it. It's not easy.
Charlotte Tucker, right off I can't think of anything similar to a hosta that would tolerate that much sun, but a lovely plant that loves sun is a day lily. There are a zillion varieties, check out www.waysidegardens.com. One that I have a little experience with is "Stella D'Oro". It's not a particularly spectacular flower, but it's prolific, producing very pretty golden colored lilies for about 8-9 months out of the year, the graceful green fountain of foliage is very nice, and it loves the sun. Check Wayside's zone chart for the plant's hardiness in your zone.
Rob was here for a couple of days, and we had a nice visit. We went to a concert by the Vocal Majority last night. Mercy, those men are good. When 150 male voices are singing in barbershop-style close harmony and you can understand every syllable, well, it's just incredible. If you ever get a chance to hear them, do it. They sing delightful oldies like "Smoke Gets in your Eyes", and "Puttin' on the Ritz", "Joshua Fit de Battle", and such. Lovely.
Well, guess I'd better go check the roses for aphids and those wretched little leaf-roller caterpillars. I just hate those things, they'll bind a whole cluster of rosebuds together, and eat the heart out of each one. Miserable pests. It seems like no matter what you plant, there's some bug or worm out there with a bib around his neck, ready to sit down to lunch. Humph! Where's Mr. Weaver when you need him? Well, no matter. I have my trusty Neem sprayer, and when all else fails, I just pull the dadburn little worm off and squash him on the ground! Eat MY roses, will he? I think not!
Have a great week, friends. Sugarplum says hey! --Romeena
