Howdy. Pipeman, when you mentioned Kroger I thought of a recent news story I read about a man who murdered two folks in Kroger. Some guy wanted his wife killed so he could collect on her insurance policy so he hired this guy named Arty to kill her. Arty wanted 5,000 dollars to do the job but the woman's husband didn't have it at that time. Arty asked him what he did have and the husband said "I only have a dollar". Arty said, "I'll take it". Anyway, Arty (being the idiot that he was) decided to follow the unsuspecting woman into the store and when nobody was around, he strangled her to death in the produce section. Well, it seems one of the employees witnessed the murder and confronted Arty (big mistake). Arty killed him, too. He didn't get away with it and was caught on the store camera. My granddaughter dropped by, too, and she was a lot of help. With all three of us working on it, we did a pretty good job! Hope the planes don't start trying to land on my driveway.
Here's an object that was mentioned, though never seen -- a pineapple skinner. Episode, anyone?

Here's wishing one and all a blessed, happy, family filled, wonderful Thanksgiving!
I think the reason the episodes were different on TV Land last night was because they were doing a special on shows that had pilgrims, or mentioned the starting of this nation, had early American heroes such as Ben Franklin, etc. The Tags one was the episode where Barney explains the Emancipation Proclamation, and he sure does explain it well!
Here's an episode to figure out...one in which Andy and Helen are listening to the radio.
Off I go, church tonight and then cook, cook, cook tomorrow! Y'all come now!

I feel I must come on here and repent to you all. We have been having a family crisis here, at least I thought it was a crisis until yesterday. A local Christian radio station the week of Thanksgiving has a praisathon where folks call in share testimony's and what not. I was listening to some who called in yesterday and realised very quickly that my little problems are nothing compared to what some folks are going through. I feel almost ashamed that I have made a mountain out of a mole hill with my little excuse for a problem.
With that off my chest, I want to thank each and everyone of you for your prayers and thoughts and concern. You folks are the greastest people in the world and on this Thanksgiving day I thank everyone of you for your warm friendship and fellowship. My heart is so full of thankfulness today I can't hardly stand it. Thank you all porch pals and may your day be wonderful and your tummy's be full.

Good Afternoon Porch!
We had a wonderful day here on the north end of the porch for Thanksgiving! The family all came by and we had a feast! I did the turkey, rolls and mashed potatoes and gravy, and every one else brought the other foods. Hmmm...hmmm good eating round here if I do say so myself! It is wonderful that everyone in my family is enjoying good health and happiness this year. We have had a few tough holidays, but this year looks much better, and then, to top it all off, we got some great news last night. For any of you porchsters who don't know, my husband is a wildlife artist, (of the starving artist variety, Lol), and he submitted some of his work for consideration in a wildlife show which is held in Tulsa, Oklahoma in March. Only 5 new artists were to be admitted into this show this year, and last night we got the call that he is one of them! (Do any of you southern porchsters live anywhere near Tulsa?) This is pretty exciting news for my husband, and I am so happy for him. He is the hardest working man I know, and I just pray God will bless his diligence and perseverence!
Asa, I am so glad you checked back in with us, I was getting a bit concerned, and I am sure God has got you and yours covered! Don't be such a stranger!
Pipeman, I never did hear that Andy had his own line of foods, that's a new one by me!
I shall asume that many of you are shopping, so I think I will take this opportunity to wish one and all a great Holiday Season! May we all remember the reason for the season as the saying goes!

I agree jennieboone, Andy is getting a lot of exposure as of late. Makes me have some hope for our world to see so many folks who still love the show, some maybe not as intense as others, but a lot of fondness just the same.
I second your thanks to Floyd for all he does in keeping Mayberry alive and well for us. But if he don't quit sweeping hair out into the street I fear he's gonna get a citation! I'd hate to see that. Y'all remember what episode that's from?
Guess I'll go fix me a turkey sammich. Got lots of turkey to consume still. We believe wasting food is a sin! Can I make one for anyone else while I'm up? No problem. Be glad to do it.

Returned from Michigan today where my Mom, Kyle and I spend TG day with my sister and her family. A good time was had by all. We watched Larry King and even shed a few tears. My mom, who is not a regular watcher of TAGS even shed a few tears. Fungi taped it for me so I could have it to view again.
I have come up with a partial modern day cast for TAGS and will share the who I imagine would play the charecters. I have not just matched the charecters looks wise, but also who I think could portray the charecters convincingly.
Andy--Tom Hanks
Barney--Steve Martin or the late John Ritter. Both very physical actors.
Aunt Bee--Tyne Daily
Otis--John Goodman
Earnest T--Robin Williams (wouldn't he be hysterical?)
Helen--Patricia Heaton (?) the wife on Everybody Loves Raymond. She can portray being kinda witchy and I think that would be Helen all over again.
I have not been able to imagine who would play the rest. Will update you if I think of it.

Wow, that's a lot of nice folks. Some of you I recognize from Miss Crump's, and The Courthouse Board. If I forgot anybody so far, forgive me, I'm still new at this. :o) (The ones I learned, I had to write down, heh heh.)
Which end of the porch am I from? I currently live in St. Augustine Florida so I guess that's the south end. Nice southern exposure on this side, it was in the mid 70's today, but then it clouded up and rained this evening. Now, it is about 35 degrees outside! Brrr! Makes my strings go out of tune, too!
So glad to meet everybody, I hope everybody here likes to role-play their character, because I sure do. Uhh, well...most of the time, except when I stick my foot in my mouth, but I'll try not to do that too often ;) wink
Soooooo....when are we going to start making this movie? fun girl, I like your choice of Patricia Heaton to play Helen, it fits in a scary way, don't it? Robin Williams would also make a good Ernest T. I had originally picked Gilbert Gottfried for that role but we'll see who's available for the $$$. Movies cost money, a lot of which I don't got right now. The darn guy at the carnival still hasn't paid me yet!!
Well before I write a whole book here, better say goodnight to everybody. Take care of yourselves and I'll check in again this weekend...
