Charlotte Tucker?? Present. There's my roll call, Asa. Salty, I wish I had your Fed Ex man. Mine don't like my dog (who can be kinda ornery to strangers but is truly loyal to his family). Salty, I just realized that you and I have another common bond--Pepsi! I can't get enough of that stuff! It's a love story that began when I was 16 and worked at a Tastee Freez. We could have all the pop and food we wanted while we was workin'. And we served this wonderful crushed ice. Crushed ice and Pepsi--there is no substitute! Speaking of my dog--he's one year old now and is nippin' at neighbors and relatives right and left. Doesn't bother us or the kids and once someone's been around a while he chills out, but it scares me when someone drives up and steps out of their car with him on the loose. (We chain him when we know someone's comin'.) I'm beside myself for fear he'll bite someone. Mavis, Salty, any help? Can some kind of obedience class help him? Hey to Ellen Brown, Hazel, Dixie Belle, Jelsik, Fun Girl, Helen, Mrs. Wiley, and Briscoe. Glad we've located Rock. Mavis, that pie was delicious but tell me ... what is FRIED apple pie? I made a lip-smackin' mulberry-rhubarb cobbler the other day. Was my grandma's (may she RIP) specialty! Where is it Romeena went to? Florida? Everbody seems to be goin' to Florida! We'll be takin' off July 20 for the Northwest! Never been there. Plan to visit hubby's niece in Oregon. Can't wait! Sorry I'm so chatty today! Off to pick up my son at basketball camp later today. He only called the second night. Hope all went well.
Somebody's probably gonna have to sweep again after all my ramblin'. Hot here. Have a great day!

They must have a purty meter at FED EX to decide who they hire, because the guy who delivers to our school is a sight to behold, and just as nice as he can be. Wonder where how that guy got his idea to carry milk-bones. Not only is he purty, he's got brains too.

He's just ornery but he's the sweetest thing to his family. We love this dog. Tried to have a lab after Andy (Annie). She was a livin' nightmare. 'Bout like the dog Ellen Brown spoke of. That dog ripped the sump pump hose off, stole all the floating plants out of my water garden, dug up my bulbs, and chewed big holes in the kids' swimming pool after I had just cleaned it and let it dry to put it away for the season! She had to go. I gave her away. Salty, how do you handle your dog that don't like strangers? Chain him? Pen him? What? I like to just let Otie run loose cuz we live in the country and he stays home, but I can't have him bitin' someone and gettin' sued! I'm going to talk to a trainer. Yes, Asa you can sing sweetie. But Barney....why don't you go look for jay walkers. We love you, but you can't sing, not a lick. There, he knows now and poor Fun Girl had to be the one to tell him. Thanks to all for the birthday wishes. I'll sign in later and let you know how the day went.

To all those dieting, have you tried the Weight Watchers ice cream sandwiches. They only have a 1 1/2 grams of fat and they are YUMMY! But I believe they can become addicting, so easy does it. I think that is what I will have instead of birthday cake. I may even stick a little candle in it.

How's the mood in Utah this morning Asa - I heard on the news they have some new suspects in the Smart girl's disappearance. I have this feeling she isn't going to be found alive. If not - we know that she is being taken care of by Jesus. A sad situation.

Morning porch. Hey homemaker, things are kind of sad around here. With each passing day the chance of her still being alive diminishes more. It just breaks my heart to see what the parents are going through. At the start of each news conference they will speak first, and the Mother always directs her comments towards Elizabeth, telling her to hang on, there coming to get her, and to be strong, and reminding her of some personal story of motivation. It just tears at you. May God bless that family.
Anyway, hope all of you are well. Thanks for sweeping AngeFan. Welcome to skippy. Jump in here anytime.
I guess with Salty working I'm gonna have to be on my own for lunch. Anyone want to go with me to the diner? The special is a hollered out tomater, filled with avacodo and raisins. Now AngeFan, I was worried about Clara cleanin' up and here you come and sweep up. You beat everything, you know that?
Our friend that was running for State Senate, won last night! What a night. We could see the Lord's hand in this all the way. It's amazing to watch him work before your eyes! Two of his opponents had almost $600,000 collectively, plus all of the PACS supporting them. Hank had approx. $23,000 for both races and still won handily! PTL! We could use a lot more of his kind.

June 26, 2002 - Msg 7625:
Good morning, everybody! Got home last evening, too tired to do much besides read some of the archives. Am all caught up now - thanks for your kind comments along the way. Nice to know we were missed. We had a lovely time, rained every day, but beautiful anyway. My son's home is so lovely, and the landscaping is gorgeous. The back lawn just sweeps down to the wetland that runs between the lawn and the lake. The wetland is a strip about 100 yards wide, with a wooden walkway over it, so you can get to the dock. The lake level is very low right now, so the rain was badly needed. We just sat in the covered area on the lanai ("patio" to most of us) beside the pool, and watched the rain sweeping over the area, making everything so green and beautiful. Picked grapefruit right off a tree by the lanai - sweet and delicious. A friend dropped off a box of fresh peaches - we made ice cream (to the detriment of my blood sugar) but it was goooood! We never even launched the seadoos, didn't quit raining long enough, but was OK. My dad would have wanted to ride one, and it would have been a delicate thing to try to stop him without hurting his feelings. He had a good time, mostly dozed in a chair on the lanai, but seemed to enjoy it.
Sugarplum, the lazy little lout, spent most of her time atop a pile of ruby-colored throw pillows in the den. From there, she could see into most of the rest of the first floor of the house, as well as having a good view of the lanai. Thus if any food was present, she could go claim her share. She received the nicknane "Princess Ruby Pillow". My son's spaniel, Abbie, was thrilled to have someone shorter than herself in the house, and spent a lot of time herding the Plum around whenever she left her pillows. What a hoot they were.
Now, after reading the archives, I have one big question. WHERE IS TOM?? Not one poem, not one word from that boy! Has anyone checked on him?
There's a lot more to say, but this grows too long. Prayers for those in need, praise for those who are trying to help others, welcome to newcomers, and much love to all my friends here. Sugarplum says hey!--Romeena

I saw a lady last night that looked a whole lot like Betty Lynn. (as she looks now) Mom and Daddy decided to play a joke on me. They told the lady to act like she was Betty Lynn when I went up to her. They told me that Thelma Lou was in the building. Of corse I went up to her she said, heh "Hi, I'm Thelma Lou."
They eventually told me in wasn't her.:-)
